The neighborhood was quiet and pretty with a park at the end of the street and lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Be advised, the walk to the zoo is 20-25 minutes; I expected a little closer but easy walk nonetheless.
Good-sized apartment for a party of 3! Would not recommend more. The entryway is extremely small, and the shower ceiling height is a bit low, so if you’re much over 6’ might want to reconsider. As an older building, it definitely has its quirks, but I appreciated that the A/C units were more than adequate to cool off the place.
Parking on weekends – wowzers. It’s tough. I was lucky to find a spot on the street for my minivan and chose to keep it there until I absolutely HAD to drive.
One more note – I wasn’t expecting a management company as a host vs. a couple. They were helpful and responsive though. Overall, a fantastic stay!

It was honestly exactly as described, and a real home away from home! We ended up extending our stay the first day we arrived. The apartment is gorgeous and the host is very thoughtful. We found tea, coffee, pasta you name it in the cupboard. It is located in a calm neighborhood, 2 blocks from a park which was perfect for my toddler and I. I will definitely be staying there again on my next trip to DC!

This is a very nice and clean apartment in a charming neighborhood. It’s on a quiet street that is still only minutes away from Adams Morgan and with access to plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants.
Rock Creek Park is nearby which makes it easy to seek out the beautiful nature DC has to offer.
The only very minor issue was that the WiFi was sometimes unreliable, but never for long periods.
The property managers were extremely responsive and friendly.
I wouldn’t hesitate at all to stay here again.

We were very comfortable in this apartment. It was spotless, secure and welcoming. The kitchen was well appointed, and local coffee and teas were provided. It was easy for us to eat in a few times. We also enjoyed eating at some of the many good restaurants close by. The professionally laundered linens were lovely. The pandas are very close by 🙂 as well as metro and bus stops. We will be happy to stay again!

This is my second time staying at this location, both times for work travel. It is perfectly located, in one of the city’s best neighborhoods – very walkable and close to public transportation. Wonderful restaurants just around the corner and easy access to beautiful walks in Rock Creek Park and the zoo. Home Sweet City are terrific hosts and the apartment is perfectly set up with very helpful supplies (toiletries, coffee) to welcome your arrival. Comfortable bed and lovely, quiet street. Recommend as a great home base for sightseeing or work-related travel.

This is the second time I have stayed at a property managed by Home Sweet City and they are great to work with. The descriptions of the property are very detailed and accurate and they are outstanding communicators.
This property is on a beautiful and quiet street in a wonderful neighborhood. The warnings about the narrowness of the entry is no joke. I’m not. Big guy, and I had to be extremely careful each time we entered and exited the property. The unit was clean and spacious. The WiFi was a little spotty but it did the job. Other than that we had no complaints!

This was absolutely THE PERFECT AIRBNB for a weekend staycation. This was for my mom, grandma and sister and they were completely obsessed with the place. The location proved to be perfect because local restaurants and groceries were so close by and very walkable. The place itself was SPOTLESS and so cozy and the perfect size for 3 people. I would HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone that wants to be in the HEART of DC with easy access to so many other neighborhoods.

We enjoyed a comfortable stay near great restaurants, fun shops and a manageable walk to the metro which is the best and easiest way to travel in Washington DC. There is a playground and basketball court just a couple of blocks away. Our host checked in a few times to ensure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

This apartment was clean, quiet and very cozy. So convenient to have a washer/dryer and plenty of room for my belongings so I could really move in for 10 days and feel at home. The kitchen is very roomy and functional. The location can’t be beat for access to all the best DC has to offer, with DuPont Circle and the Zoo short walks away. I would definitely stay here again! I had a wonderful stay! This place is great. The location is perfect- a nice quiet street only 2 blocks away from lots of restaurants and cafes. The place was very clean and was exactly as described. The bed was very comfortable as well. The hosts were very friendly and communicative, and check in/check out was a breeze.

Needed a place to stay for work for a couple nights, and this was great. Nice clean space in quiet neighborhood but a short walk away from restaurants, coffee shops, and bus line. Would definitely recommend for anyone visiting DC.

This Airbnb is set on a nice and quiet side street, but is still only a short walk from many restaurants, shops, parks, the zoo, metro stations, etc.
Home Sweet City was a great host. They provided a lot of clear information leading up to my stay, and were very responsive/proactive with communication throughout it. The internet was giving me some issues when I first arrived, and they were quick to reply and offer to connect with the upstairs neighbors to reset it.
Everything was very clean (spotless, well-equipped kitchen), and comfy (bed done up like it would be in a hotel). Despite being basement level, there still felt like there was a good amount of privacy.
I’d recommend this stay for anyone looking to have a nice “home-base” to return to while going out and exploring the area.

Great stay in Adams Morgan neighborhood. Lots of places to eat, grocery stores, drug stores, coffee shops. Easy walk to/from Metro and Zoo.
Accommodations just like home – super kitchen, good water pressure in shower for thick hair, comfy and cozy during thunderstorms!

I really enjoyed this place! It was roomy and comfortable. The neighborhood was so quiet and cute. I was able to walk to coffee and pastry shops, and my family even walked to the zoo from there! It was also pretty close to all the DC sites by car. Although we didn’t cook there, it did seem to provide anything you’d need! Make sure to follow the instructions for parking that the host provides. It was a game changer! I would 100% stay here again!

Had an excellent stay at Home Sweet City. The apartment is located in a quiet street but you are within a few minutes walking distance to the lively Adams Morgan neighbourhood, you are next door to Rock Creek Park, and there are some great restaurants and a big supermarket nearby. The only well-advertised downside is the rather cramped doorway entrance, but even for a big guy like me that did not prove to be any issue at all (one just needs to duck 🙂

Ideal for 3-4 persons, safe peaceful leafy neighborhood walking distance to the zoo, Adams-Morgan for restaurants/nightlife, and the subway/buses to museums and sights. A/C units functioned great during the summer heat. Homey furnishings with ample kitchen space. Linens were clean and fresh incl. the spare ones for the pull-out sofa. Although it was not a concern for our group of 3 younger adults, the entrance does have some steps that those with mobility concerns should inquire about. We parked one car easily on the street using the DC visitor permit as advised by owner(s). We would be happy to come back for another stay!

We enjoyed our stay, it was easy to get to from the Metro station, a short walk to the Zoo, restaurants and to the grocery store. Very near a playground though we did not utilize as our daughter is a teenager. Bathroom is rather small when sharing with three. A nice quiet neighborhood.

A lovely place to stay for a DC visit! Easy access to walkable areas, metro stop, many dining choices. Lovely, quiet neighborhood to come back to after a busy day. Some of the individual touches that make a stay extra nice – lovely, large bath towels, plenty of bathroom and kitchen products, great water pressure in shower. Comfortably and thoughtfully furnished, comfortable bed, temperature control for unit was easy. As has been mentioned – it is a tight entrance and an English basement, but once inside felt light and bright, and very comfortable. We will choose this location again for a trip to DC.

Great spot to stay. As mentioned in other reviews the entryway is narrow with steps and the shower would feel small to someone tall or large. Neighborhood was great. Host was very communicative and let me know as soon as the place was ready (which was earlier than expected). Kitchen had good basics. Washer and dryer turned out to be great to have! Nicely decorated spot.

We had a wonderful stay at this apartment. The location can’t be beat, and the management company was very responsive when we faced a couple minor issues. Everything was very clean. The bedroom is big enough to accommodate a queen sized inflatable mattress, which allowed us to keep the living room usable for our family of four. If you’re a big cook, be aware that the basics are there, but not a lot of plates, bowls etc. We just washed everything after every use instead of waiting for the dishwasher to fill up. Would stay again – hopefully during a less busy time when prices are lower.

We loved this apartment. Comfortable furniture with several nice touches to make the place feel warm and homelike. The small opening to the entrance really is tight and has steep steps. I’m 6′-1″, 195 lbs, and I had to twist a bit to get in without hitting my head on the bricks. So I wouldn’t recommend for someone that is very large or with mobility issues. But once inside, we felt very safe, warm, and cozy. We will definitely consider staying here again!

I had an excellent stay with Home Sweet City. The hosts are some of the most attentive and helpful I’ve encountered. I had an issue with the heater upon arrival, which they wasted no time is resolving and were in constant communication. The apartment itself is in an excellent location, walkable to public transport and many restaurants/shops. The apartment is very well appointed with everything one might need for a quick trip, very clean and spacious. It was perfect for a business trip and I relished the comfortable bed at the end of the day. Highly recommend!

Absolutely perfect location in Adams Morgan! You will be in a quiet neighborhood with only a very short walk to reach the restaurants and activities that make Adams Morgan such an interesting and fun place. Accommodations in the apartment were all in great working shape.

Location is great, tucked in a quiet neighborhood.
The apartment is basement level with 7 foot ceilings, which feels really cramped for a tall person like myself.
Overall the apartment is nicely updated and very clean.
Bed is worn, like most Air BNBs, but fairly comfortable.
Host is responsive. Power went out but host was able to restore it quickly. Internet was terribly slow but again host was able to fix it quickly.

Home Sweet City was a great host. They provided a lot of clear information leading up to my stay, and were very responsive/proactive with communication throughout it. The internet was giving me some issues when I first arrived, and they were quick to reply and offer to connect with the upstairs neighbors to reset it.
Everything was very clean (spotless, well-equipped kitchen), and comfy (bed done up like it would be in a hotel). Despite being basement level, there still felt like there was a good amount of privacy.
I’d recommend this stay for anyone looking to have a nice “home-base” to return to while going out and exploring the area.

Great stay in Adams Morgan neighborhood. Lots of places to eat, grocery stores, drug stores, coffee shops. Easy walk to/from Metro and Zoo.
Accommodations just like home - super kitchen, good water pressure in shower for thick hair, comfy and cozy during thunderstorms!
Highly recommend.

I really enjoyed this place! It was roomy and comfortable. The neighborhood was so quiet and cute. I was able to walk to coffee and pastry shops, and my family even walked to the zoo from there! It was also pretty close to all the DC sites by car. Although we didn't cook there, it did seem to provide anything you'd need! Make sure to follow the instructions for parking that the host provides. It was a game changer! I would 100% stay here again!

The apartment was clean, cozy and comfortable. The location is spectacular - near the heart of Adams Morgan and a 10 minute walk from the zoo as well as Rock Creek Park. I would absolutely return the next time I visit DC.

Had an excellent stay at Home Sweet City. The apartment is located in a quiet street but you are within a few minutes walking distance to the lively Adams Morgan neighbourhood, you are next door to Rock Creek Park, and there are some great restaurants and a big supermarket nearby. The only well-advertised downside is the rather cramped doorway entrance, but even for a big guy like me that did not prove to be any issue at all (one just needs to duck 🙂

Ideal for 3-4 persons, safe peaceful leafy neighborhood walking distance to the zoo, Adams-Morgan for restaurants/nightlife, and the subway/buses to museums and sights. A/C units functioned great during the summer heat. Homey furnishings with ample kitchen space. Linens were clean and fresh incl. the spare ones for the pull-out sofa. Although it was not a concern for our group of 3 younger adults, the entrance does have some steps that those with mobility concerns should inquire about. We parked one car easily on the street using the DC visitor permit as advised by owner(s). We would be happy to come back for another stay!

We enjoyed our stay, it was easy to get to from the Metro station, a short walk to the Zoo, restaurants and to the grocery store. Very near a playground though we did not utilize as our daughter is a teenager. Bathroom is rather small when sharing with three. A nice quiet neighborhood.

A lovely place to stay for a DC visit! Easy access to walkable areas, metro stop, many dining choices. Lovely, quiet neighborhood to come back to after a busy day. Some of the individual touches that make a stay extra nice - lovely, large bath towels, plenty of bathroom and kitchen products, great water pressure in shower. Comfortably and thoughtfully furnished, comfortable bed, temperature control for unit was easy. As has been mentioned - it is a tight entrance and an English basement, but once inside felt light and bright, and very comfortable. We will choose this location again for a trip to DC.

Great spot to stay. As mentioned in other reviews the entryway is narrow with steps and the shower would feel small to someone tall or large. Neighborhood was great. Host was very communicative and let me know as soon as the place was ready (which was earlier than expected). Kitchen had good basics. Washer and dryer turned out to be great to have! Nicely decorated spot.

We had a wonderful stay at this apartment. The location can’t be beat, and the management company was very responsive when we faced a couple minor issues. Everything was very clean. The bedroom is big enough to accommodate a queen sized inflatable mattress, which allowed us to keep the living room usable for our family of four. If you’re a big cook, be aware that the basics are there, but not a lot of plates, bowls etc. We just washed everything after every use instead of waiting for the dishwasher to fill up. Would stay again - hopefully during a less busy time when prices are lower.

We loved this apartment. Comfortable furniture with several nice touches to make the place feel warm and homelike. The small opening to the entrance really is tight and has steep steps. I'm 6'-1", 195 lbs, and I had to twist a bit to get in without hitting my head on the bricks. So I wouldn't recommend for someone that is very large or with mobility issues. But once inside, we felt very safe, warm, and cozy. We will definitely consider staying here again!

I had an excellent stay with Home Sweet City. The hosts are some of the most attentive and helpful I've encountered. I had an issue with the heater upon arrival, which they wasted no time is resolving and were in constant communication. The apartment itself is in an excellent location, walkable to public transport and many restaurants/shops. The apartment is very well appointed with everything one might need for a quick trip, very clean and spacious. It was perfect for a business trip and I relished the comfortable bed at the end of the day. Highly recommend!

Absolutely perfect location in Adams Morgan! You will be in a quiet neighborhood with only a very short walk to reach the restaurants and activities that make Adams Morgan such an interesting and fun place. Accommodations in the apartment were all in great working shape.

I enjoyed my stay at this place. Location is great, and communication was excellent. It’s super close to the bus stop, and a 30min walk to Downtown. Great value for money especially during busy weeks in DC .

Location is great, tucked in a quiet neighborhood.
The apartment is basement level with 7 foot ceilings, which feels really cramped for a tall person like myself.
Overall the apartment is nicely updated and very clean.
Bed is worn, like most Air BNBs, but fairly comfortable.
Host is responsive. Power went out but host was able to restore it quickly. Internet was terribly slow but again host was able to fix it quickly.
