Great location! Right in downtown dc, not far from U street and Howard University as well as the National Mall and historic sites. Definitely recommend to anyone traveling in the area, bnb was clean, safe and lots of space.

Just like other stellar reviews, the place was great. Access to the metro green line is a 10 minute walk near the library, where you can get to the National Mall in just a few stops. Parking wasn’t an issue with the printed pass and spots were available all around the neighborhood-just make sure to read all the signs posted to avoid misparking. We were in town to visit the Hirshhorn and attend a concert at the 9:30 Club which was a 15 minute walk. This is also a great area to sight see through DuPont Circle, Embassy Residences and 18th street in Historic Adams Morgan, where a quick Uber will get you there. This is a basement apartment so expect lower ceilings as noted. Coffee was delish! And kitchen was a nice size for the space. Also nice to have TVs in both living / sleeper sofa and bedroom. Would definition stay again!

Great stay! Kitchen is full sized and the bed was comfortable. Shower was nice! Few things… 1. 10am checkout is rare and feels very inhospitable. No flexibility for a late checkout, so if your flight is later, think twice. I may not have booked this if I had realized the checkout was so early. 2. Cameras are on the patio. So if you are outside hanging out, your conversations are not private. 3. Sirens all day/night long! 4. Last, when I pay a cleaning fee, why do you make it a responsibility for me to clean? Trash, towels, etc May take the cleaners 5 minutes to do, which is why I pay a cleaning fee. So, that’s my review! We loved this trip to DC. Thank you!

We had a wonderful stay. Very close proximity to the Metro (5 min walk) and free parking included. As for the unit itself…great place, very clean and quiet. Had a fully stocked kitchen with all the utensils and cookware needed for a nice family meal. Even I caused a fully stocked spice cabinet and a coffee pot with two different types of coffee. The in depth local guide was very helpful as well. Hosts were very responsive and communicative during our stay. We will definitely stay here again when we return to DC.

We had a great time during our stay and highly recommend to anyone coming to visit DC. Everything is a short Uber ride away, or walkable if you are so inclined. The home has everything you need for your stay and the host is very responsive and friendly.

Home Sweet City went above and beyond. The holidays are a huge tradition in my family. I expressed this and the host purchased a Christmas tree so that my family and I can set up the decorations. Now the tree wasn’t set up upon our arrival but they brought it by same day when I communicated it. Host was by far the most responsive host thus far. I usually purchase cooking items/glassware when I am staying at an Airbnb but this location had everything I needed and more! From the seasonings to the cooking utensils, I was amazed! The recycling was full, they even came to assist with that to ensure that my families and my needs were met. Something minor, the smaller bathroom toilet was clogged so we couldn’t make use of both, but the one bathroom worked ok for my small family of three. Bed and couch were comfortable. I definitely plan to be back when visiting again soon.

Nicely appointed very functional home base for a convention. Easy to walk downtown and get Uber home. It’s quite dark inside so adjust your expectations and there’s not much to walk to in the neighborhood. But if you need a clean place to rest your head and get ready in the morning, this is perfect!

Me and my friends had a great stay here. The property was perfect for what we required and the hosts were very clear and friendly when communicating, along with fast reply’s. If I were to be in the area again, I would definitely see if it would be possible to return!

We really enjoyed our stay in Washington thanks to Home Sweet City’s accommodations. The location was great! We could easily take the Metro to the capital or other niche areas of Washington, and the G2 bus was right around the corner and would take you directly to Georgetown. There were great local bars and restaurants around the condo, so that you could come home after a day of sightseeing and not have to worry about heading back into town if you didn’t want to go out again. It was a win-win for us as we clocked an average of 25,000 steps per day. We also appreciated how well stocked the condo was, from toiletries to spices to coffee. One of our best Airbnb experiences!

Very decent property with all the amenities as mentioned in the description. The only issue is with the bed, it makes lot of noise when you move during the sleep. Otherwise, a great affordable place and close to all major attractions. Make sure to park your vehicle in the right spot on the parking lane otherwise you will get a parking ticket.

We had a great stay! It was spacious considering the location and had everything we needed. We also appreciated the recommendations they had for food and things to do in the area. About a 10-15 minute walk from the Metro station.

This place was in a great neighborhood for foodies, and about a 10 minute walk to the metro to get to DC sights. The house was very clean and the couch bed was surprisingly very comfortable! Would stay here agian.

The place is pretty cozy. There is everything we need like kitchen goods, coffee maker and of course a full size kitchen. Everything was pretty clean. It was pretty warm back in these days: ~90f, so AC was very nice thing to have. The only one disappointing thing was a lack of daylight: the entire place was pretty dark. Anyway, we would definitely come back to this place for the same price.

Booked this stay for my parents and they absolutely loved it! Everything was accessible and the hosts were helpful throughout.

We stayed 6 nights and found the listing to be very comfortable and well equipped. We loved that they provided local coffees and teas! Located about a 10 minute walk from the subway and with a bus stop across the street, it was easy to take public transport but usually just walked (30 minutes downhill to the convention center). A number of neighborhood restaurants are an easy walk. A supermarket is about a 15 minute walk, with a few Bodegas closer. Kitchen well equipped and bed is comfortable. We recommend!

Great place to stay, super convenient if you’re looking to visit National mall museums. Instructions were very detailed, I didn’t have to reach out to them with any questions. The long paragraphs with instructions can be a little overwhelming but I guess it explains why the place is so organized and taken care of. Overall, great experience.

Home Sweet City was clean and welcoming. My kids didn’t want to leave. Each night they looked forward to come back to the apartment and relax. They liked the map that was on the sliding door. It was cool.

Place matches descriptions, very clean and hosts are very responsive. They provided instructions to get parking permit, and there are plenty of parking spots available. Location is close to buses but not as close to metros. The beds made noises with every movement, but we did sleep okay. The apartment is located on a Main Street, so sleeping in living room is noisier. Bring a white noise machine if this is an issue.

This place was PERFECT for my last minute weekend trip to DC. Parking was super easy (many spots right out front), bathrooms were great, living room was cozy. Would totally stay again!

This was an awesome place to stay. It’s was walkable and there are a ton of not too pricey restaurants nearby. My only comment (not a complaint) is that the ceiling is low. I’m 6’3” and I spent a lot of time ducking and dodging the doorways and support beams in the ceiling. Just a heads up for the other tall folk.

Exactly as advertised. Hosts were proactive in their communications minimizing confusion and ensuring I was well prepared for the easy check in and out process. Although you can hear the upstairs tenant (which is well advertised and expected), it was not obnoxiously loud nor disruptive. If you plan to take the Metro, there are multiple stops in the vicinity including one right outside the home. Overall, this was a very nice and convenient property.

very beautiful place to stay, looks just like the pictures! very clean and supplied very well with amenities. it is located on a busy street, with no parking out front,you apply for a permit, if you’re renting a vehicle you can’t fill it out fully until you have the vehicles license plate number so that was kind of a hassle. it is about a two and a half to three and a half mile walk to get down to all the sites in the DC downtown area. people in the neighborhood are very friendly! at night you really don’t hear the traffic out in front when you’re in the bedroom. there are really no good instructions about how to get rid of the garbage when the little small cans are full. other than that very good communication with the company that runs this place however they need however they need to be informed on how to get rid of the garbage as I don’t think they fully get rid of the garbage as I don’t think they fully understood either. but definitely come come back to this location again

Overall great stay, professional host, good location, and comfy apartment. Apartment – feels much larger in person! Closet behind the map wall for more storage. Kitchen had all essentials. Spacious shower. Washer-dryer is quick and quiet. Bedroom – king size bed is comfortable. Walk in closet. Additional TV swivels out to be watched from bed. Room isn’t cramped at all. Windows only really get light in the morning and room is at the back of the house so it wasn’t super bright, sleeping in was easy to do. Noise – some from walking upstairs but was pretty minimal. House is on a busy street but could barely hear it, and mostly only in the living room. Location – just NW of all the big sites in DC easy to get everywhere. Bus stop across the street that goes downtown in about 15-20 minutes. Many many more buses within 3 blocks. Host – super responsive and helpful. Only ended up having 1 question during our stay and they replied quickly. No surprises and reasonable house rules.

We thoroughly enjoyed the stay! Will be back for more.

We had a great time staying here. We were only there for a few days, but this would be a great longer term rental. The pull out couch was comfortable, and choosing to sleep on one of those is usually a gamble! The host was very responsive and helpful with some parking issues we had.

Place was really great! Came just as expected with everything we needed for a week’s stay. Spacious for a basement unit, even for a family of 4 with 2 teenagers. Lots of amenities included. Incredibly responsive host always ready to help with planning our trip to the DC area. I was worried about the parking, but it was never a big issue finding street parking close by. Loads of dining options within a very short walk. Highly recommend this lovely spot, wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

The only thing I wish I would have known was how “short” everything is. My husband is 6’4 and he kept hitting his head. The shower is also a little slick. My son slipped and bruised his back pretty bad. Other than those two things the place was great!! Very clean, owners were easy to get ahold of, and easy parking.

Everything was perfect. As mentionned in the description of the place, we could hear the conversation from the upstairs appartment. Was not a problem until we were trying to sleep and the discussion (probably a group) was still talking . We deal with it by letting the AC on during the night so the ventilation covered somewhat the voices. Consideting the quality of the place (frechly renovated, size etc), this is secondary.

The basement apartment was clean and updated with a beautiful kitchen, and 1.5 bathrooms also nicely done. Having buses and the Metro in walking distance made the commute into the city quick and convenient. We were a bit disappointed in the neighborhood. Street construction, busy street traffic and having to walk on uneven sidewalks was a bit annoying. The price was right and the company that handles the rental was very helpful.

We had a great stay! The location was perfect and the apartment beautiful! My two young girls loved the pull out sofa 🙂 and everything was so clean and nice. The bed was comfortable and we had everything we needed. We had no issue with finding close parking with our permit, and communication was great when we wanted to confirm we had parked in the right place. We were very happy with the decision to stay here!

Great location in a good part of town. Stayed there with my mom who mastered the metro line 🙂 the only complaint have is I wish there was a fan to move air around better. It gets sticky at night.

I was in town for a conference at the convention center, and it was an easy 20-25 minute walk each way. By Lyft it was a crazy quick ride. The unit was well decorated, clean, and provisioned. Quiet neighbors, easy parking (maybe I got lucky), and tons of great places to go nearby. The surrounding neighborhoods were so fun to walk and look around.

The place was conveniently located and just as described. Ample amenities and an overall clean and enjoyable experience. Would definitely stay there again!

Prefect place to stay for a few days

Crumbs/debris were on the counter when we arrived. Otherwise, very clean. Very noisy upstairs our last night.

Comfortable stay, clean, and well equipped. We didn’t cook there, so I’m not sure about the kitchen, but it appeared well equipped. The apartment is located on a busy street, but a white noise app muffled most street noise for a good night’s sleep. It’s not too far from a Metro stop and there was a good Ethiopian restaurant we ate at during our stay.

Glad we chose to stay here versus a hotel. Several restaurants within a short walking distance. All of the memorials and other sites of interest are a couple miles away, and definitely walkable if you have no major ailments.

Very clean and convenient location to access DC. Will likely stay here again.

This basement apartment is in an inconvenient location and rules were inflexible and harsh if you want to check out after 10am or need to change reservation. Additional fees charged per hour past checkout. Upstairs neighbors can be noisy and you can hear everything going on without sound insulation.

Overall, an amazing experience!
