My wife, 4-month old, and I stayed here for a week. The place had some positives but we would NOT recommend it with so many other AirBnBs in the city.
The BAD:
– this place is LOUD. You can’t tell from the listing but this place is just two rooms of a house that have a locked door divider. There are other units below, next to, and above you with no soundproofing. The plumbing also runs right next to the bed so everytime someone flushes a toilet or showers, you hear the water rush past your heads. We were woken up at least once a night by the noise
– the kitchen isn’t really usable. There’s just a sink, toaster oven, and portable burner you can plug in. It might be okay if you don’t plan on cooking/making any meals but since we were there a week, we could only make toaster oven meals. It also hasn’t been upkept as there were multiple food items with expiration dates in 2023 still there.
The GOOD:
– Clean
– Reserved Parking spot is nice

This place is nothing but exceptional! The owners were very responsive. I had a family emergency on the day of checkout and requested a late checkout. The response was immediate and even extended support during a time of bereavement.

I had an amazing stay! The location was the perfect jump off point for venturing into the city or going to the University of Maryland. The neighborhood was safe, the neighbors were friendly, and there are some cool places to eat or grab a drink close by. Anytime I visit DC, I will definitely be booking this Airbnb!

This is probably the nicest place to stay in the DC area! The apartment is perfectly clean, comfortable and feels like home. Zeke’s cafe is great spot to start the day, 5 mins walk! Very good restaurants nearby, cool bars and easy access to everything you need. The neighborhood is super nice… It’s an amazing place in DC and I will definitely stay there again! Thank you for accommodating my late checkout! I really appreciate it.

Our 4 night stay at The Little Nest in DC was great! Check in was very easy with the clear instructions that were provided. The private parking spot was a selling point for us. The home was very clean, basic necessities were provided, and the neighborhood was quiet. The Rhode Island metro stop is within walking distance (about 10 minutes) and was very convenient for getting to the National Mall. Having our vehicle allowed us to drive to a few locations that we wanted to see a little further away. We didn’t need to contact anyone for anything but I have no doubt that they would have responded promptly. We would definitely stay here again if we return to the area.

This Apartment is so amazing!! The natural light is so beautiful here! After a long day of walking through all of the attractions in Washington DC it was so wonderful to be able to come back and take a wonderful bath and crawl into a comfortable bed! The kitchenette is small but perfect for making a cup of coffee and small simple meals. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful and the people in the neighborhood and at the metro were wonderful! The host was VERY responsive and was gracious enough to even allow me to extend a day.
I will definitely have this on my list of places to stay when I come back!

We stayed here in September, 2024 and my review at that time was 5 stars all the way. This place is a wonderful location very walk-able from the Rhode Island Metro and close to restaurants on 12th and several local breweries. All the amenities are there and we look forward to hopefully returning. I wish there was something between ‘4’ and ‘5’. My reason for the ‘4’ and not an overall ‘5’ is the noise from other units in this facility. Running water, footsteps and toilet flushing from another unit woke us during the night three of the five nights we stayed. We did not experience this during our previous visit. I would still highly recommend this unit. Just be prepared for interior noises.

Small apartment in a bigger house. The space was definitely a step up from a hotel room, including a functional kitchenette, off-street parking, and good tea & coffee provided. Some nice touches, including local art, a couple of antique furniture pieces, a walk-in closet, and a private back porch to enjoy morning coffee outside.
However, that was paired with super cheap Ikea furniture (including a less comfortable bed than any hotel would have) and embarrassingly cursory work by the contractor who flipped the space. Further, though the “house rules” included “no partying”, it took multiple calls to the service number to get loud music from an adjoining apartment turned off (at 11:30 pm).
All told, the benefits of renting a nice apartment on a quiet street were probably balanced out by the inconvenience of dealing with a rental company that has less direct control/investment in the space than a hotel would.

Super comfortable. I was surprised that the unit was like, the rear half of the home (I thought it was a basement or otherwise separated unit). Despite that, it was super comfortable. It’s a perfect space for 1 person traveling on business who spent little time there but sleeping. It may have been tricky to cook in the little kitchen they’ve rigged up, but they have a nice set up considering the space they’re working with. I loved the walk in closet, and the bathroom was stocked with great amenities. Comfortable bed, although the pillows are a little thin, so just stack 2.
The only thing that may give someone pause is that there are two doors to the other side of the home where I assume a permanent resident lives. That’s not a problem, as they seem to be secure just like they would be in hotel rooms that are connected. It just means you should be mindful of noise you make, and you may hear the occupant of the other unit. I wasn’t bothered by this but someone else may.

Family lives nearby, so location is ideal.. The place is quiet and very clean. The little deck is nice for morning coffee. Hosts very responsive to questions. I didn’t read the entire welcome message, so had initial trouble with thermostat. Suggestion – maybe say on thermostat to download ecobee. Otherwise great place. Want to come back

This place is as pictured, very clean and well-equipped. It’s a nice, airy space. The neighborhood is fairly safe. My daughter lives nearby and says she wouldn’t walk alone at night. But I felt safe generally.
I think it’d be more accurate if future renters know that there are 2-3 units in this home. There is little soundproofing, and all doors open “in” to this space. As a single traveler, I was a little weary of my safety at first. I think the owners have been careful and I appreciate that. Also, I could hear the other renters. Not just voices; but entire conversations. That’s okay, but I would have been more prepared if I’d known.

My stay at Home Sweet City was great.
The place was clean and totally functional. The neighborhood was quiet and down-to earth. The walk to/from the Metro was quick and convenient.
Sitting on the back porch watching the sun set and the full moon rise was a perfect way to decompress after hectic days.

Amazing home away from home! We’re a family of 2 adults (1 prego) and 1 toddler and this little place was so comfortable to return to each evening. The layout and lighting makes the place feel very spacious! Everything provided was just enough: kitchenette with cups and induction stove, dining table, mini couch, walk-in closet, the bed was a perfect balance of firm yet comfortable, blankets were comfy and clean. We would definitely stay here again!
One thing we’d note for those who are unfamiliar with D.C. (us)—walking to/from the Rhode Island Ave-Brentwood station is extremely convenient, but was slightly uncomfortable at night. We arrived very late the first night and that was our first impression. During the day it is fine. We would still walk from that station night, but felt better with some daylight. Brooklyn-CUA is north and a further, but a really pleasant walk. Overall, the location is great!

This was a good place to stay for us. Super convenient to the metro and had some inexpensive restaurants close by. We are not city people so the neighborhood felt right on the edge of being slightly sketchy but we had no problems with our car being broken into or walking to and from the metro so I think part of us is us being nervous in a big city. Very clean and nice place to stay.

Cute little spot to lay down your head when traveling in DC. The space was very clean and looks better in person. I love the big windows for natural sunlight. Great backyard and sweet hangout spot on the deck. I had a couple of questions throughout my stay, and the host was incredibly responsive. Note – put a pot on the stove for it to turn on LOL. Had a good chuckle at that one. The only thing to be aware is noise. There are other tenants in the space but they were never loud past 9 pm and I never heard them in the am. Thank you so much for the accommodations for my solo trip to DC.

Cute little place. Plenty of room for a couple, maybe with a baby or toddler. More than that might feel cramped. Great home base for exploring the city and we would absolutely stay here again. I was really impressed with the creative use of space and mini kitchen. We ate out during the day but it was nice to be able to make coffee, tea and simple breakfast fare in the mornings. Location is a little removed from the heart of downtown and a 10 minute walk to the metro, but there is street parking for 1 car by the house which is a big deal if you are driving to D.C.

Very happy with my stay, the place is really cozy and beautiful, the bed is big and comfortable, there’s a little deck right outside to hang out, only con is there isn’t a lot around in terms of good food or bars, but it’s 2 train stops away from downtown so location wasn’t bad at all

Home Sweet City was very good with communicating. We did have an issue with the AC and the owner was responsive to Home Sweet City to resolve it.
Something that could be addressed is the number of bath towels. Only had two towels at check in for a 5 day stay. We requested a few more and it was handled with no problem. We were very happy with our stay and would highly recommend it.

Wonderful stay, walking distance to restaurants and shops! As well as easy drive to everything. Host were wonderful and easy to get ahold of! Unit is shared! Was a bit noisy from tenants below but otherwise an awesome stay! I recommend this place if you want a nice, small and cozy stay in DC!

Cute little (IKEA style) apartment for short term stays. The only difference from the photos was it didn’t have a desk / office space, there is an armoire there instead. Kitchen is tiny but has almost everything you need, although it could use a microwave. It could also use a washer and dryer. Pretty private despite being in the back of a house, really nice yard. The neighborhood is ok but the walk to the closest metro isn’t the safest. The local pizza place is great, but not very many other restaurant options close by.

The space is cute and small (although you can still move around and not feel cluttered ) Nothing too fancy but nicely decorated convenient easy to come and go. We saw several stains on the bedding and furniture but we’re not super picky so that didn’t bother us. No microwave but they do have a conventional oven .
We were able to hear the homeowners in the morning or who ever was on the other side of the wall or outside (im sure they heard us as well) as I believe only a wall separates the suite from the home. If you’re a light sleeper this may be problematic we wake up pretty early so that wasn’t bothersome to us either lol .
I thought parking would be terrible it was not. We were able to park out front each day without the permit . The block is nice and quite not too busy.
I would stay here again.
The host is very helpful responsive and friendly . Everything was about 10-20 mins from what we wanted to do. Starbucks is everywhere lol.

This is a nice, recently updated property in an up and coming neighborhood. Street parking easily found in front of house. Car can be parked and left for several days in same spot. Make sure to register with DCParking and print parking pass prior to arrival. Easy access to Rhode Island Metro Station–Short walk, about 4-5 blocks. At night may want to consider taking Uber. Would be happy to stay again.

The home was even nicer in person and the hosts were very kind and attentive. When I had an issue or any questions, they got back to me quickly and provided recommendations to accommodate me. There were even little touches, such as the skylight in the bathroom that added natural light, that made the home even more appealing.
There were some slight issues that could be improved. I had a hard time controlling the air and the directions provided weren’t helpful since the system wasn’t active, but the host got back to me within an hour or so to fix it right away.
Overall, I thought the home was beautiful, the hosts were awesome, and the home is located in a quiet little neighborhood not far from a few good restaurants and the metro. I stayed here alone and felt safe and comfy. I would definitely stay here again!

Great place – clean, quiet, as advertised. There is another rental unit adjacent in the same house, so there may be other guests staying on the property, but the unit is private, just FYI. It was a comfortable, clean and easy stay.

Our 4 night stay at The Little Nest in DC was great! Check in was very easy with the clear instructions that were provided. The private parking spot was a selling point for us. The home was very clean, basic necessities were provided, and the neighborhood was quiet. The Rhode Island metro stop is within walking distance (about 10 minutes) and was very convenient for getting to the National Mall. Having our vehicle allowed us to drive to a few locations that we wanted to see a little further away. We didn’t need to contact anyone for anything but I have no doubt that they would have responded promptly. We would definitely stay here again if we return to the area.

This Apartment is so amazing!! The natural light is so beautiful here! After a long day of walking through all of the attractions in Washington DC it was so wonderful to be able to come back and take a wonderful bath and crawl into a comfortable bed! The kitchenette is small but perfect for making a cup of coffee and small simple meals. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful and the people in the neighborhood and at the metro were wonderful! The host was VERY responsive and was gracious enough to even allow me to extend a day.
I will definitely have this on my list of places to stay when I come back!

We stayed here in September, 2024 and my review at that time was 5 stars all the way. This place is a wonderful location very walk-able from the Rhode Island Metro and close to restaurants on 12th and several local breweries. All the amenities are there and we look forward to hopefully returning. I wish there was something between '4' and '5'. My reason for the '4' and not an overall '5' is the noise from other units in this facility. Running water, footsteps and toilet flushing from another unit woke us during the night three of the five nights we stayed. We did not experience this during our previous visit. I would still highly recommend this unit. Just be prepared for interior noises.

Small apartment in a bigger house. The space was definitely a step up from a hotel room, including a functional kitchenette, off-street parking, and good tea & coffee provided. Some nice touches, including local art, a couple of antique furniture pieces, a walk-in closet, and a private back porch to enjoy morning coffee outside.
However, that was paired with super cheap Ikea furniture (including a less comfortable bed than any hotel would have) and embarrassingly cursory work by the contractor who flipped the space. Further, though the "house rules" included "no partying", it took multiple calls to the service number to get loud music from an adjoining apartment turned off (at 11:30 pm).
All told, the benefits of renting a nice apartment on a quiet street were probably balanced out by the inconvenience of dealing with a rental company that has less direct control/investment in the space than a hotel would.

Super comfortable. I was surprised that the unit was like, the rear half of the home (I thought it was a basement or otherwise separated unit). Despite that, it was super comfortable. It’s a perfect space for 1 person traveling on business who spent little time there but sleeping. It may have been tricky to cook in the little kitchen they’ve rigged up, but they have a nice set up considering the space they’re working with. I loved the walk in closet, and the bathroom was stocked with great amenities. Comfortable bed, although the pillows are a little thin, so just stack 2.
The only thing that may give someone pause is that there are two doors to the other side of the home where I assume a permanent resident lives. That’s not a problem, as they seem to be secure just like they would be in hotel rooms that are connected. It just means you should be mindful of noise you make, and you may hear the occupant of the other unit. I wasn’t bothered by this but someone else may.

Family lives nearby, so location is ideal.. The place is quiet and very clean. The little deck is nice for morning coffee. Hosts very responsive to questions. I didn't read the entire welcome message, so had initial trouble with thermostat. Suggestion - maybe say on thermostat to download ecobee. Otherwise great place. Want to come back

This place is as pictured, very clean and well-equipped. It's a nice, airy space. The neighborhood is fairly safe. My daughter lives nearby and says she wouldn't walk alone at night. But I felt safe generally.
I think it'd be more accurate if future renters know that there are 2-3 units in this home. There is little soundproofing, and all doors open "in" to this space. As a single traveler, I was a little weary of my safety at first. I think the owners have been careful and I appreciate that. Also, I could hear the other renters. Not just voices; but entire conversations. That's okay, but I would have been more prepared if I'd known.

My stay at Home Sweet City was great.
The place was clean and totally functional. The neighborhood was quiet and down-to earth. The walk to/from the Metro was quick and convenient.
Sitting on the back porch watching the sun set and the full moon rise was a perfect way to decompress after hectic days.

Amazing home away from home! We’re a family of 2 adults (1 prego) and 1 toddler and this little place was so comfortable to return to each evening. The layout and lighting makes the place feel very spacious! Everything provided was just enough: kitchenette with cups and induction stove, dining table, mini couch, walk-in closet, the bed was a perfect balance of firm yet comfortable, blankets were comfy and clean. We would definitely stay here again!
One thing we’d note for those who are unfamiliar with D.C. (us)—walking to/from the Rhode Island Ave-Brentwood station is extremely convenient, but was slightly uncomfortable at night. We arrived very late the first night and that was our first impression. During the day it is fine. We would still walk from that station night, but felt better with some daylight. Brooklyn-CUA is north and a further, but a really pleasant walk. Overall, the location is great!

This was a good place to stay for us. Super convenient to the metro and had some inexpensive restaurants close by. We are not city people so the neighborhood felt right on the edge of being slightly sketchy but we had no problems with our car being broken into or walking to and from the metro so I think part of us is us being nervous in a big city. Very clean and nice place to stay.

Cute little spot to lay down your head when traveling in DC. The space was very clean and looks better in person. I love the big windows for natural sunlight. Great backyard and sweet hangout spot on the deck. I had a couple of questions throughout my stay, and the host was incredibly responsive. Note - put a pot on the stove for it to turn on LOL. Had a good chuckle at that one. The only thing to be aware is noise. There are other tenants in the space but they were never loud past 9 pm and I never heard them in the am. Thank you so much for the accommodations for my solo trip to DC.

Cute little place. Plenty of room for a couple, maybe with a baby or toddler. More than that might feel cramped. Great home base for exploring the city and we would absolutely stay here again. I was really impressed with the creative use of space and mini kitchen. We ate out during the day but it was nice to be able to make coffee, tea and simple breakfast fare in the mornings. Location is a little removed from the heart of downtown and a 10 minute walk to the metro, but there is street parking for 1 car by the house which is a big deal if you are driving to D.C.

Home Sweet City was very good with communicating. We did have an issue with the AC and the owner was responsive to Home Sweet City to resolve it.
Something that could be addressed is the number of bath towels. Only had two towels at check in for a 5 day stay. We requested a few more and it was handled with no problem. We were very happy with our stay and would highly recommend it.

Cute little (IKEA style) apartment for short term stays. The only difference from the photos was it didn’t have a desk / office space, there is an armoire there instead. Kitchen is tiny but has almost everything you need, although it could use a microwave. It could also use a washer and dryer. Pretty private despite being in the back of a house, really nice yard. The neighborhood is ok but the walk to the closest metro isn’t the safest. The local pizza place is great, but not very many other restaurant options close by.

The space is cute and small (although you can still move around and not feel cluttered ) Nothing too fancy but nicely decorated convenient easy to come and go. We saw several stains on the bedding and furniture but we’re not super picky so that didn’t bother us. No microwave but they do have a conventional oven .
We were able to hear the homeowners in the morning or who ever was on the other side of the wall or outside (im sure they heard us as well) as I believe only a wall separates the suite from the home. If you’re a light sleeper this may be problematic we wake up pretty early so that wasn’t bothersome to us either lol .
I thought parking would be terrible it was not. We were able to park out front each day without the permit . The block is nice and quite not too busy.
I would stay here again.
The host is very helpful responsive and friendly . Everything was about 10-20 mins from what we wanted to do. Starbucks is everywhere lol.

This is a nice, recently updated property in an up and coming neighborhood. Street parking easily found in front of house. Car can be parked and left for several days in same spot. Make sure to register with DCParking and print parking pass prior to arrival. Easy access to Rhode Island Metro Station--Short walk, about 4-5 blocks. At night may want to consider taking Uber. Would be happy to stay again.

The home was even nicer in person and the hosts were very kind and attentive. When I had an issue or any questions, they got back to me quickly and provided recommendations to accommodate me. There were even little touches, such as the skylight in the bathroom that added natural light, that made the home even more appealing.
There were some slight issues that could be improved. I had a hard time controlling the air and the directions provided weren’t helpful since the system wasn’t active, but the host got back to me within an hour or so to fix it right away.
Overall, I thought the home was beautiful, the hosts were awesome, and the home is located in a quiet little neighborhood not far from a few good restaurants and the metro. I stayed here alone and felt safe and comfy. I would definitely stay here again!

The place was great with two different metro stations within walkable distances. There was a grocery store and pharmacy nearby which made stocking up for the stay convenient. The neighborhood was quiet which led to peaceful nights of sleeping. We just wish the weather waited to rain until after our stay. We would return for a visit.

We felt really comfortable. The street was quiet and calm. The apartment was clean and tidy. The communication was great and they were making sure we felt like home. everything looked like in the pictures or even better. The apartment has everything you could need: basics for breakfast and bathroom. Also, there was a really nice pizza restaurant at the end of the street.
