Home Sweet City was the perfect place for us stay during our visit to DC. We lived on this block for many years and we felt right at home again.

Excellent place to stay. Charming neighborhood. There was a little corner store and a couple of restaurants that you could walk to in five minutes. Very close to Penn Station as well, and you could see the dome of the Capitol if you looked down the street, it was so close!
My one and only complaint is that the upstairs neighbors wouldn’t sit still. I expect a degree of noise from an upstairs apt but these people seemed to constantly be walking (or stomping) the length of the apt starting early in the morning. This is no fault of the owners or AirBnB, but I think visitors should be made aware.
Otherwise, I absolutely loved the accommodations and my time in DC.

What a beautiful place to call home for 4 nights. Great location, bikes and scooters on the block and very walkable. The hosts were amazing and very responsive to questions. I would stay here again and again. Thanks for hosting us!

The place is very clean, nice and tidy, honestly it’s pretty much impeccable.
We had 5 people staying there, for us, the one bathroom proved to be challenge, but this is nothing on the place, it’s just to consider on the logistics for each group.
The location is great, safe, nice area.
For me, I think the 4pm check in time is pretty late. We had asked if we could check in earlier or at least drop the bags off, as we had two kids and a senior citizen, they said “maybe” and that we should let them know once we land so they would confirm or decline. We did reach out upon landing but never heard back, so it was a bit frustrating, as either a yes or a no straight up would be much better.
We had left our son’s reading glasses, we reached out, they found them and we were able to go and get them. That was very nice.
Besides the aforementioned, it was all very good and would recommend them,

Our family of four had a great three-night stay. The kids shared the middle bedroom; one kid took the bed and there was just enough space to put an aero bed on the floor. The apartment was clean and well-located; about a 10-minute walk to the Capitol visitor center. Walking to the mall seems plausible but we were there in the middle of a heat wave. Instead we used Ubers which got us to the museums at about $12 a pop — not bad at all and super simple. There’s a very nice bodega a few minutes walk away; I also had no issue walking the extra 8-10 minutes past the bodega to Giant, which is your typical supermarket. The apartment’s central air worked great; it kept us completely comfortable despite the temperatures — highs in the mid 90s — during our stay. The washer/dryer was a very nice bonus — they both worked great. The noise from upstairs is real but the trade-offs — a great location, wonderful apartment — are well worth that minor inconvenience.

Indeed, a great location and nice space inside the apartment. My family enjoyed the stay there. A few considerations, though, particularly for those with young children:
1) The place is not the most amenable for toddlers/young walkers — lots of sharp corners, outlets, heavy tippable items placed high up, etc. This didn’t impact my overall review, but it is important to consider if you are planning a trip with young children, you will have to monitor them carefully.
2) Somewhat related, there is not a bathtub at this space, just a large shower, which can also complicate matters with young children.
Regardless, the location was great and we enjoyed the stay.

Truly amazing stay. Our family stayed for a mini family vacation in the DC area. The location is within walking distance to the Capital and the Supreme Court. The place was spotless, and we felt right at home. The host provided us with plenty of supplies to feel comfortable, including a variety of tea, coffee, cleaning products, hair dryers, paper products, etc. We would recommend this Airbnb location for tourists who might be interested in staying in the D.C. area.

This first-floor apartment is a nice place to stay for Capitol and National Mall walkability in a safe neighborhood. It is kinda cool to walk out to the sidewalk and see the Capitol dome down the street. There are a few decent walkable restaurants nearby, and a couple small convenient grocery stores if you want to make full use of the kitchen. Everything was clean and the whole place felt nice. The water filter pitcher needed some attention and they got me a new filter the next day. I didn’t specify but I would have preferred it if they left the package at the front door instead of entering and setting it up but it wasn’t a big deal. I think the windows in the kitchen and living room area could use curtains or blinds, as they advertise the couch there as a bed. And the backyard neighbors can see into the place too.
Overall I had a good stay and I’d definitely stay here again.

The flat was very nice. Plenty of space and a well stocked kitchen. The couch/sofa in the family room was big and provided plenty of seating but wasn’t very comfortable. The dining area was convenient and comfortable. The bedrooms had been redecorated since the photos were taken. I kind of like light colors better but they were still nice looking. I recommend some kind of shade or blind for the window between the bathroom and the second bedroom so when someone uses the bathroom later at night it doesn’t light up the bedroom. Also, in the bathroom, the sink was kind of cramped under the large mirrored medicine cabinet. They were very communicative and I felt well informed of the rules and instructions. The location cannot be beat. Easy access to the Capitol and the mall. We would stay here again.

We had a great stay here for Christmas. The house was overall really nice and we had almost everything we would have needed (eg kitchen appliances). Only minor setback was that y he dishwasher didn’t work but hopefully they fix that (and I don’t mind hand washing dishes anyways).

We have been returning guests and we always liked the place. It is very enjoyable and has all the comfort you need but there seems to be no noise insulation between the place and the apartment upstairs. So if you are noise sensitive, you will hear lots of footsteps (toddler?) that can start as early as 6am.

This apparent has great location, walkable distances to a lot attractions. It is also very convince, with lots of restaurants and grocery. It is also clean and nice decorated. You will have everything you need at the kitchen. We had some issue with the WiFi at first and the host responded quickly and fixed.

We had an amazing stay at this Airbnb near Capitol Hill! The place was beautifully decorated, spacious, and had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay for our family. The location is unbeatable – just a short walk to all the museums and surrounded by plenty of great restaurants. It felt very safe, and getting an Uber was incredibly easy with pickup right outside the gate. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Washington, DC!”

Pretty much the perfect Air BnB. Easy, clean, neat and in a superb location. We had two adults and three children; of course it wasn’t a royal palace size but it was fine for three nights.
Safe, quiet neighborhood with trees and gardens, great for just walking. Super close to the National Mall.
I would rate 6 stars if I could!

Location, location, location. The space worked great for the 3 of us to explore DC for a few days. The space was ample and maybe even better decorated than the original photos. So glad to have a washer/dryer (with laundry pods!) so we didn’t have to pack a suitcase full of dirty clothes. We could hear the upstairs neighbors a few times but nothing crazy. Would recommend if you’re in DC – no need for a car because you can walk to almost everything.

Definitely centrally located walkable to capital and to local restaurants to the east. Clean comfortable well stocked felt right at home. Has 2 coffee makers great automatic and a stove top expresso maker. Old school and a hot water boiler for tea. Lovely.
Just a suggestion to bring ear plugs if a light sleeper – the homes in DC have thin walls. Or if you’re a light sleeper.

We only stayed for a weekend, and the unit description was accurate. Everything went as expected; the staff who managed the property quickly responded and solved doubts and minor issues when they arose, like the parking permit that was solved a day before we started our stay and worked flawlessly. We liked the location and the neighborhood and had a great time in DC.

We had a wonderful stay! My 2 young kids loved “borrowing a house” from someone and didn’t want to leave. The hosts were helpful and accommodating and responsive. The unit was clean and exactly as described. Location was excellent. We walked from our unit to capitol and Washington monument and the entire mall, and back again. Check in and out and communication was so easy. Looking forward to coming back!

Walkable to many parts of the city. We rented scooters and got the best of both worlds, privacy and tourist experience. The space is nice, if you need two bathrooms, this space won’t work, but we made it work. Communication was excellent and nothing was complicated about the stay.

Splendid location in a quiet, enchanting, neighborhood. It was lovely to walk out of the front door and immediately see the Capitol. We visited DC during a blisteringly hot and muggy week, but the air-conditioned apartment was always comfortable. It was a good size and well-provisioned for everything we needed. On the only negative note, we had some wifi problems that didn’t respond to rebooting the routers, but we were so busy with outings that we didn’t make any effort to solve them, and assume that they could have been fixed if we’d made those efforts.

This was absolutely an amazing stay. The location is perfect, walkable to the capitol and easy for Ubers to find us. The place was squeaky clean and is exactly what the photos show. Shared patio was nice and has its own private porch as well. The host was very proactive in communication and checked in often to ensure our stay was going smoothly.

This spot was a great find right near the capital building. My family and I felt safe and the place was comfortable. We enjoyed walking to the national mall every day we were there. Private, quiet, nice little yard front and back, and small usable porch off the kitchen/living room area.

Fantastic location – a view of the Capitol from the front yard, a lovely and quiet neighborhood that is also easy walking distance to Union Station and the Mall, and a very nicely appointed apartment. Everything was as described in the listing and check in/check out was seamless. For people who want a convenient home base to the Mall, this is a great place. Minor comment: there is an apartment above this unit and so sound can transmit.

The apartment was wonderful. The gray divan was no longer in one of the bedrooms, but the rest was how it was pictured. If you have kids be prepared to ask them not to play with some of the antique photography equipment on repeat (there really wasn’t a place to hide them), also watch that the bathroom has a high window into one of the rooms (you will have to go in the dark if you put the kids in that room). If you are short, you will need to pull a chair over to get to some of the glasses and plates, but the kitchen is WELL stocked with everything you could need to cook. It was everything we wanted being that close to the capital. Home away from home.

Our stay at this Airbnb was wonderful! We were greeted by a beautiful and immaculately clean space. The attention to detail in the decor truly made it feel like a home away from home.
The neighborhood itself was safe and serene, providing a peaceful place to stay after exploring Washington DC. We felt completely at ease walking around, even during late evenings.
The location couldn’t have been more convenient. With easy access to public transportation and within walking distance to Capitol Hill, the mall area and Union Station, we were able to maximize our time exploring the city without any hassle.
Our host was very accommodating and responsive to the few questions we had, making the entire experience seamless and enjoyable.

We had a nice time at this apartment. It was very comfortable and located close to lots of attractions. Even though it’s on a busy street, it seemed very quiet. It’s winter, so we didn’t use the rear outdoor area, but it looked nice. We would definitely come back.

Can’t give this place a better rating! Steps from the Capitol, Supreme Court, and much more!! Arrived at the flat to find it impeccably clean, cozy and comfortable with lots of windows. Beds were extremely comfortable, you will be delighted! Appreciated the floor mirror great place to take selfies! Beautiful, walkable, leafy neighborhood with stunning views all around. Overall, this is a great, spacious, comfortable place to stay in a neighborhood that’s close to lots of things to do! However, there were a few issues, such as the patio being different than the photos because the string lights had no switch we could locate and the host didn’t know how to turn them on either and inconsistent check in and out times between the listing, some messages they sent, and the guide they shared with the less convenient times being the ones they told me they’d enforce. It was confusing to have gotten that answer and then receive a message from the host afterward contradicting the time they’d previously stated. Things felt a bit too automated in their communication, which I think may have contributed to some of this confusion.

The apartment's central air worked great; it kept us completely comfortable despite the temperatures -- highs in the mid 90s -- during our stay. The washer/dryer was a very nice bonus -- they both worked great. The noise from upstairs is real but the trade-offs -- a great location, wonderful apartment -- are well worth that minor inconvenience.

Indeed, a great location and nice space inside the apartment. My family enjoyed the stay there. A few considerations, though, particularly for those with young children:
1) The place is not the most amenable for toddlers/young walkers — lots of sharp corners, outlets, heavy tippable items placed high up, etc. This didn't impact my overall review, but it is important to consider if you are planning a trip with young children, you will have to monitor them carefully.
2) Somewhat related, there is not a bathtub at this space, just a large shower, which can also complicate matters with young children.
Regardless, the location was great and we enjoyed the stay.

Truly amazing stay. Our family stayed for a mini family vacation in the DC area. The location is within walking distance to the Capital and the Supreme Court. The place was spotless, and we felt right at home. The host provided us with plenty of supplies to feel comfortable, including a variety of tea, coffee, cleaning products, hair dryers, paper products, etc. We would recommend this Airbnb location for tourists who might be interested in staying in the D.C. area.

This first-floor apartment is a nice place to stay for Capitol and National Mall walkability in a safe neighborhood. It is kinda cool to walk out to the sidewalk and see the Capitol dome down the street. There are a few decent walkable restaurants nearby, and a couple small convenient grocery stores if you want to make full use of the kitchen. Everything was clean and the whole place felt nice. The water filter pitcher needed some attention and they got me a new filter the next day. I didn’t specify but I would have preferred it if they left the package at the front door instead of entering and setting it up but it wasn’t a big deal. I think the windows in the kitchen and living room area could use curtains or blinds, as they advertise the couch there as a bed. And the backyard neighbors can see into the place too.
Overall I had a good stay and I’d definitely stay here again.

The flat was very nice. Plenty of space and a well stocked kitchen. The couch/sofa in the family room was big and provided plenty of seating but wasn't very comfortable. The dining area was convenient and comfortable. The bedrooms had been redecorated since the photos were taken. I kind of like light colors better but they were still nice looking. I recommend some kind of shade or blind for the window between the bathroom and the second bedroom so when someone uses the bathroom later at night it doesn't light up the bedroom. Also, in the bathroom, the sink was kind of cramped under the large mirrored medicine cabinet. They were very communicative and I felt well informed of the rules and instructions. The location cannot be beat. Easy access to the Capitol and the mall. We would stay here again.

We had a great stay here for Christmas. The house was overall really nice and we had almost everything we would have needed (eg kitchen appliances). Only minor setback was that y he dishwasher didn’t work but hopefully they fix that (and I don’t mind hand washing dishes anyways).

We have been returning guests and we always liked the place. It is very enjoyable and has all the comfort you need but there seems to be no noise insulation between the place and the apartment upstairs. So if you are noise sensitive, you will hear lots of footsteps (toddler?) that can start as early as 6am.

This apparent has great location, walkable distances to a lot attractions. It is also very convince, with lots of restaurants and grocery. It is also clean and nice decorated. You will have everything you need at the kitchen. We had some issue with the WiFi at first and the host responded quickly and fixed.

We had an amazing stay at this Airbnb near Capitol Hill! The place was beautifully decorated, spacious, and had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay for our family. The location is unbeatable – just a short walk to all the museums and surrounded by plenty of great restaurants. Pretty much the perfect Air BnB. Easy, clean, neat and in a superb location. We had two adults and three children; of course it wasn't a royal palace size but it was fine for three nights.
Safe, quiet neighborhood with trees and gardens, great for just walking. Super close to the National Mall.

Location, location, location. The space worked great for the 3 of us to explore DC for a few days. The space was ample and maybe even better decorated than the original photos. So glad to have a washer/dryer (with laundry pods!) so we didn't have to pack a suitcase full of dirty clothes. We could hear the upstairs neighbors a few times but nothing crazy. Would recommend if you're in DC - no need for a car because you can walk to almost everything.

Definitely centrally located walkable to capital and to local restaurants to the east. Clean comfortable well stocked felt right at home. Has 2 coffee makers great automatic and a stove top expresso maker. Old school and a hot water boiler for tea. Lovely.
Just a suggestion to bring ear plugs if a light sleeper - the homes in DC have thin walls. Or if you’re a light sleeper.

We only stayed for a weekend, and the unit description was accurate. Everything went as expected; the staff who managed the property quickly responded and solved doubts and minor issues when they arose, like the parking permit that was solved a day before we started our stay and worked flawlessly. We had a wonderful stay! My 2 young kids loved “borrowing a house” from someone and didn’t want to leave. The hosts were helpful and accommodating and responsive. The unit was clean and exactly as described. Location was excellent. We walked from our unit to capitol and Washington monument and the entire mall, and back again. Check in and out and communication was so easy. Looking forward to coming back!

Walkable to many parts of the city. We rented scooters and got the best of both worlds, privacy and tourist experience. The space is nice, if you need two bathrooms, this space won’t work, but we made it work. Communication was excellent and nothing was complicated about the stay.

Splendid location in a quiet, enchanting, neighborhood. It was lovely to walk out of the front door and immediately see the Capitol. We visited DC during a blisteringly hot and muggy week, but the air-conditioned apartment was always comfortable. It was a good size and well-provisioned for everything we needed. On the only negative note, we had some wifi problems that didn't respond to rebooting the routers, but we were so busy with outings that we didn't make any effort to solve them, and assume that they could have been fixed if we'd made those efforts.

This was absolutely an amazing stay. The location is perfect, walkable to the capitol and easy for Ubers to find us. The place was squeaky clean and is exactly what the photos show. Shared patio was nice and has its own private porch as well. The host was very proactive in communication and checked in often to ensure our stay was going smoothly.

This spot was a great find right near the capital building. My family and I felt safe and the place was comfortable. We enjoyed walking to the national mall every day we were there. Private, quiet, nice little yard front and back, and small usable porch off the kitchen/living room area.

Fantastic location - a view of the Capitol from the front yard, a lovely and quiet neighborhood that is also easy walking distance to Union Station and the Mall, and a very nicely appointed apartment. The apartment was wonderful. The gray divan was no longer in one of the bedrooms, but the rest was how it was pictured. If you have kids be prepared to ask them not to play with some of the antique photography equipment on repeat (there really wasn’t a place to hide them), also watch that the bathroom has a high window into one of the rooms (you will have to go in the dark if you put the kids in that room). If you are short, you will need to pull a chair over to get to some of the glasses and plates, but the kitchen is WELL stocked with everything you could need to cook. It was everything we wanted being that close to the capital. Home away from home.

Our stay at this Airbnb was wonderful! We were greeted by a beautiful and immaculately clean space. The attention to detail in the decor truly made it feel like a home away from home.
The neighborhood itself was safe and serene, providing a peaceful place to stay after exploring Washington DC. We felt completely at ease walking around, even during late evenings.

We had a nice time at this apartment. It was very comfortable and located close to lots of attractions. Even though it's on a busy street, it seemed very quiet. It's winter, so we didn't use the rear outdoor area, but it looked nice. We would definitely come back.

Overall, this is a great, spacious, comfortable place to stay in a neighborhood that’s close to lots of things to do! However, there were a few issues, such as the patio being different than the photos because the string lights had no switch we could locate and the host didn’t know how to turn them on either and inconsistent check in and out times between the listing, some messages they sent, and the guide they shared with the less convenient times being the ones they told me they’d enforce. It was confusing to have gotten that answer and then receive a message from the host afterward contradicting the time they’d previously stated. Things felt a bit too automated in their communication, which I think may have contributed to some of this confusion.

We read in other reviews that the sound travels easily through the building, we would agree with that. This did not bother us as we were out exploring the city by day and nobody was in upstairs apartment at night. I could definitely see that this could have been a problem IF we had others staying above us. Place was as described and our stay was just fine.
