Had a great stay while visiting Washington D.C.. The Airbnb was an easy walk to the metro station, had easily accessible restaurants, and was located in a charming little neighborhood. The property was very clean and the host was nice and very responsive. Would stay here again!

We had a wonderful 4-night stay at this clean, comfy, well-decorated and cared for English basement apartment. It is so close to Union Market with great restaurants, coffee shops, and boutiques. Capitol Hill is a 1-2 mile walk and the Metro is close as well. The apartment had everything you need for a visitor DC. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely stay again.

Great location, walkable to the metro station. The place looks exactly like the picture, gives you a cozy vibe and makes you feel at home. You’ll here footsteps from the house above early in the morning, but it’s not a huge inpact that interupt your sleep or anything. The host is very proactive and responsive. Highly recommend for a delightful experience at DC

Had a great stay here, and would definitely book again. The shower water pressure leaves a lot to be desired, but I don’t think that’s easily fixable. I’d recommend this location for anyone wanting to be near Union Market, as it’s a short walk to and from.

This was a great Airbnb experience. The property was clean and comfortable and in a charming neighborhood convenient to all of the major sites of DC. I liked that we could hear the sounds the people above us; it made the experience less sterile, as though we were part of the city we were guests in. Also, props to any Airbnb hosts who provides shampoo and body wash (as these great hosts did) – when did this become optional? no property it’s a five-star review without this.
If you are driving, definitely read the owners’ tips for applying for a temporary permit – invaluable.

Location was wonderful, very accessible to great restaurants, public transit, and felt very safe for our group of young women. The hosts were incredibly responsive, friendly, and gave a great set of instructions and detailed recommendations that helped with planning. The home was really nice and peaceful. Parking was crazy that’s the city life I guess. Union Market being in walking distance for food was the best experience of all. I’m a foody and that made my entire trip worth it. The house was clean and had different things that you could’ve possibly left at home accessible to anyone.

It’s like a college, peaceful area!
Bike station is one block away from there and you can bike all around and to get closer to the monuments!
We didn’t have any trouble to get the parking permit and to find a parking spot, 2 blocks away you can print it!

Fantastic location, very clean, everything that you may need. We felt like home, the neighborhood is very quiet and walkable, very close to Union Market (must check if you are here!) and few minutes from the capitol with excellent restaurant, food options and entertainment. Our only drawback was that the AC was not working in one of the rooms which was not a big deal for us, but what really bothered us is that the people living upstairs own a very large dog. The ceiling is very thin so you can hear the dog running around which woke us up the first morning and it was also barking very loudly at 3AM the second night which was an annoyance. Just an FYI for the lightsleepers. Otherwise, this would have been the perfect stay!!

Excellent location. Close to Metro and Union Market which had too many great food options. Trader Joe’s, right there. the kitchenette was just the right size and we had everything we needed. The apartment was immaculate and we had all we needed. The host was proactive and communicative. My only confusion is that there was some conflicting information about what to do during check out.

Was zu beachten ist, dass das Apartment im Kellergeschoss ist – was bedeutet das es keine Aussicht und sehr wenig Tageslicht gibt.
Wer dieses Apartment wirklich nur zum schlafen benötigt, macht nichts verkehrt, denn für die Besichtigung von Washington ist es ein guter Ausgangspunkt.

We loved our stay here. From the location (tree lined streets and quiet neighborly feel), lovely restaurants nearby (Indigo and Laos), access to markets (Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s) and overall stay was excellent. You do need a car to get around DC unless you are willing to walk a lot. We were able to get street parking and setting up a parking pass was very easy and convenient. The owners were thoughtful in taste and decor choices and had pretty much everything needed for our stay. We will be back again when visiting DC.

Very accurate description; the apartment was quiet and the location can’t be beat. Overall, a good value. The host was quite responsive. After a heavy rain the outside entrance to the apartment was filled with water (it didn’t make it inside the apartment) – appreciated that the host had maintenance come within an hour to remove it.

My best friend and I really enjoyed our stay here. NOMA was a great neighborhood with a lot to do around there, as well as all the people being so friendly. The place itself was super cute, comfortable and met all our needs. We met the owners daughter who was super friendly and welcoming and their two dogs, which was a nice little bonus since we are dog people. We would definitely stay here again!

This was overall a great stay, with a few hiccups to acknowledge. Great neighborhood, very walkable, close to the metro and felt relatively safe. While checkin was fairly simple, the locks can be tricky and somewhat awkward/inconsistent to lock/unlock. The breaker in the kitchen cannot handle the coffee maker and the toaster oven going at the same time, so the electricity for the kitchenette was inoperable for a period (including the fridge). Fortunately once we found the breaker box we were able resolve the issue. The Home Sweet City team was very responsive regarding both of these circumstances and gave helpful feedback so we were able to resolve these issues ourselves. Just some minor inconveniences we were not expecting.

Michelle and team were very communicative and clear from the get go. Even recommendations of things to do and even tips on avoiding seasonal insects.. We love the details.
The apartment is very cozy. Kitchen has everything you need for breakfast or easy pasta cooking if you need to.
A bit set back with no washer dryer yet available during our stay, especially when you need to stay more than 3 days in warm season. But they kindly quick responded with recommendations for pick up laundry in the area and also mentioned to provide in the future.
Everything else was perfect. Value for money..
Recommended for family or group traveller.

What a Great Location and Stay! Located in Union Square, a 7-10 minute walk to great restaurants, Trader Joe’s, NoMa/Gallaudet Metro Stop (Red Line)! Union Station is one stop away. If you need an Uber to places like George Town or the Wharf it’s about $10-12 and about 15 minutes.
The Apartment was spotless, equipped and looked just as the pictures indicated. We had everything we needed for 5 days and 3 people stayed there comfortably. The bathroom counter space is limited, but the wall shelves are adequate (pictures showed this).
As the apt. description says, you do hear the owners walking around overhead, but we did not find it a distraction. They have two very cute/sweet dogs. We met both Heather and Josh and they couldn’t have been nicer and both asked if we needed anything!
Loved our time there and would definitely book this location again.

This is one of my favorite Airbnbs in all of DC, and I’ve stayed in quite a few. Firstly, it is in what for me is a perfect location, 3 blocks down from Union Market but in a quiet area with a neighborhood feel. The apartment is immaculate and newly furnished and very spacious. I’d stay here again in a flash and would recommend it highly to anyone looking for a DC get-away: individuals, couples, or small families.

We thoroughly enjoyed this location. Hosts were very helpful in arranging parking for us and the space was very well maintained and clean. Check-in and check-out were a breeze. The neighborhood was relatively quiet and one could easily walk to restaurants and the metro. We’ve added this home to our favorites and will plan to stay here whenever DC becomes a travel need for us. Thank you for being super hosts!

Place was as described clean, neat and location was close to everything. They were very accommodating letting us check in early for a fee, which unfortunately we needed. One other fee is the cleaning fee when I had to empty/ take out my own trash to the barrels. Would recommend this stay if you don’t mind the fees.

We had a great stay with Home Sweet City in NoMa!
Everything was within walking distance including the metro that we used daily. The location felt safe and was quiet in a residential community. The place was clean and neat. The hosts were all very responsive and helpful with anything we may have needed. Will definitely book with them again and maybe stay at a different location for something new!

The unit is very spacious and well thought out. It’s not quite set up for cooking meals/doesn’t have a kitchen per se but that was clearly stated in the description. The layout was good for our family of four and I could see it being great for two or two couples. It has a very homey feel and is tastefully decorated and laid out. The location is very convenient. We didn’t have a car and used the train and the Noma-Gaudellet station is literally a 5-7 minute walk.
Michelle was a very helpful and responsive host and very professional. All her directions were extremely clear which we appreciated.
Five stars and we’d stay there again no question!

We absolutely loved our stay here!! I tend to rely heavily on reviews when we travel, and this being nearly renovated (with only 2 reviews) it felt like somewhat of a gamble, but did we ever hit the jackpot! Exactly like the photos, super cute, and very comfortable. Perfect location for walking to Metro, Trader Joe’s, Union Market, and lots of restaurants. We always felt safe even coming home on late nights! Michelle was a fabulous host, so friendly and quick responses with any questions we had. Sent a link on the last day for our luggage storage after checkout which was SUPER helpful!! We couldn’t have been happier with our stay…wouldn’t change a thing. Already looking forward to our next stay! A definite 10/10!

Loved my stay here. Beautiful and newly renovated. Hosts are lovely and very responsive. Started to feel like it was a “home” in DC. Walkable to tons of restaurants, Whole Foods and the train. Less than 1 mile from the Capitol. Cool neighborhood. I’ll definitely be back.

I tend to rely heavily on reviews when we travel, and this being nearly renovated (with only 2 reviews) it felt like somewhat of a gamble, but did we ever hit the jackpot! Exactly like the photos, super cute, and very comfortable. Perfect location for walking to Metro, Trader Joe’s, Union Market, and lots of restaurants. We always felt safe even coming home on late nights! Michelle was a fabulous host, so friendly and quick responses with any questions we had. Sent a link on the last day for our luggage storage after checkout which was SUPER helpful!! We couldn’t have been happier with our stay…wouldn’t change a thing. Already looking forward to our next stay! A definite 10/10!

Loved my stay here. Beautiful and newly renovated. Hosts are lovely and very responsive. Started to feel like it was a “home” in DC. Walkable to tons of restaurants, Whole Foods and the train. Less than 1 mile from the Capitol. Cool neighborhood. I’ll definitely be back.
