This is a very easy location if you are attending s conference at the Walter E Washington.

Great place! Love the amenities like the coffee and tea. It’s easy to find and in a great location! It was also super clean when we got in.

Lara was great and the apartment was just what we needed. I have high standards when it comes to cleanliness, and this AirB&B met them. We loved the wine bar below it and the area in general. Would definitely stay here again if we are in the area!

Overall clean apt, few spiders and webs but nothing crazy. Good location, but Friday and Saturday night it’s a lot going on outside till 2am: people talking/yelling, sirens, loud car music (had a sound machine to drown out the noise). Location to the museums is walkable however better to take the Metro tram to save your feet and knees. Small washer/dryer but a life saver as the heat was crucial and clothes needed to be washed. TV with streaming worked great. Water temp for shower was great. AC worked great (stayed at 72 the whole time) and in addition there is a fan in each room. Bed: Not going to lie the bed was VERY firm. Every morning upon waking-Everyone’s joints (back and hips) in their body was feeling it. Kitchen: Pans were okay but everything we cooked stuck even with oil but it got the job done. Host was very responsive and directions to access the apt were clear. Parking: Used Spot Hero and had to park 2 blocks over in a NARROW alley. Don’t drive a SUV, lrg truck or mini van you need a compact or regular sedan. Overall, it was okay. This was my first time staying at a location like this since we usually stay at a hotel.

We stayed here with one other couple for a few days. Has everything you need and grocery store just one block away. Was perfect for us to use as a base as we explored all the sites in DC.

Excellent spot to stay in the city. 8 minute walk away from the metro, and 3 minutes from a grocery store.

This was the perfect spot for us to stay while visiting our daughter who lives just a few blocks away. The location was convenient and there was no problem with the bar downstairs – even on the weekend. We turned on the fan provided and that white noise was all we needed. We used Spot Hero to find a great place to park and walked everywhere. Beds were comfortable, bathrooms were clean, and pictures of the apartment on the website were accurate. We would stay here again!

Great location to use as a base for exploring downtown DC. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed. Host communication was excellent. We loved exploring this neighborhood and there were plenty of restaurants, grocery stores, etc. nearby. We would definitely choose Home Sweet City again the next time we visit DC!

This place is conveniently located near the Convention Center. We found some Michelin star restaurants nearby that were delicious. Giant, the grocery store, is about a block away. The Metra is also close by . The kitchen is very well stocked as well and the decor reminds me of Bombay Company.

Location was perfect for a conference. It is an older building and it is above a wine bar so it can be quite loud at night. However, well appointed, very clean, and after some kinks with check-in, everything was fine. Would definitely stay again.

We had an amazing stay here and truly felt right at home from the moment we walked in. The neighborhood is absolutely beautiful and very welcoming. What We Loved: The Vibe: The space is cozy, well-maintained, and has a great “homey” feel. Parking: We had zero issues with parking; there is plenty of street and garage parking available nearby. Location: It’s in a great spot, though there is one trade-off (see below). Things to Note: The property is located right at a traffic signal. While the location is convenient, the street noise might be a challenge for light sleepers. Despite the noise, we absolutely loved the place and will definitely be recommending it to friends. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat!

The place was amazing. Better even than we anticipated. The location was amazing, including its proximity to numerous fabulous restaurants. And the Maxwell wine bar underneath was the perfect nightcap to every day that we had there. Additionally, the host was amazing. She checked in on us almost daily and asked if we needed anything. Of course we didn’t because the place was so great, but it was nice that she did that we would definitely go back!

I would thoroughly recommend Home Sweet City. The apartment was better than we expected and would absolutely choose to visit again. We contacted them a few times during our stay and they always responded within 10 mins with helpful and accurate advice. Could not have been a better, more relaxing stay. We were a little worried that the apartment was above a wine bar but there was no noise and, when we visited, the wine was great, the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, and the food was good too. What more can you ask for. If you are looking for a place to stay in DC, especially if you are attending a conference at the Washington Conference Center, you should book yourselves into this apartment.

The host was super responsive and helpful. The home is beautiful and very comfortable. It was a short walk to every place I needed to go. I will definitely stay here next time I am in DC.

We had a fantastic stay! The place was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and well-located. Being above a wine bar, you do hear some typical city sounds, but nothing disruptive. The nearby metro made getting around incredibly easy, and having a grocery store just one block away was a huge plus. We’d definitely stay here again!

We had a lovely stay at this property over the Thanksgiving holiday. The accommodations were perfect for our family. It also was a great location to be able to get to various parts of the city within a short distance.

This was a tremendous location, allowed time with our family and to prepare meals prior to (and after) the Marine Corps Marathon. and conveniently located near the Metro and restaurants. Everything was walkable, just a fantastic location and fantastic space. I highly recommend it!

Perfect spot for our week in D.C.! The apartment was spacious, clean, and comfortable with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The open kitchen and living area were great for cooking and relaxing, and Maxwell wine bar downstairs added a fun, European vibe. Location felt safe and was an easy 15–20 minute walk to restaurants, sights, and Le Diplomate. The host was very responsive and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!

Positive: Clean, well appointed, spacious. Negative: Located above a bar, we were awakened to loud talking and laughter well after midnight. It’s a “wine bar” and we did not expect that on a Monday & Tuesday night from midnight til 1:30am! The apartment is located on the second floor, on a corner, and although it’s certainly NOT a loud venue, the joyous interaction of patrons, spilled out and the bedroom has a lovely bay window right on the corner. Perhaps to folks used to a more urban setting, the loud talking and laughing would have been less significant. We didn’t complain because I think that if you live directly over a bar, it’s kind if expected. But that loud, at that hour, on a weeknight? We left anything but well rested! Other than that, it was “Five Star” all the way!

Overall, the place is cute and just enough room for 4-5 adults to stay comfortably. The kitchen has exactly what you need, toiletries are sparse, and anything else you need, you can grab at plenty of spots nearby.Biggest issue was the wi-fi, which is practically non-existent. It’s a problem worth solving to keep guests happy. And the curtains are not completely black-out. It also lists having a washer and dryer, there isn’t one in unit.Otherwise, having two bathrooms is great for a spot in the city; it’s close to a ton, which does mean more outdoor noise, but it’s a city, so expect and plan for that. For the space, location, and responsiveness of the host, it was a good stay.

The property itself is 3-stars but the management group earned one star back with their handling of the bad situation. We booked this property for 4 people for 6 nights. I wasn’t too pleased when we got there and noticed only four towels, meaning I would be definitely be doing laundry during my vacation. The kitchen amenities were pretty sparse.The television service is only streaming services, which is typical. However, the internet provided is just an extension of the upstairs apartment and was very weak and did not work well at all. I don’t want to constantly be resetting an extender and managing internet issues on vacation.The final straw was a pest control issue that caused us to request new accomodations. The company offered another property, but it was not comparable so we declined. They did refund us for the remaining nights of our stay so we could relocate, which is how they earned their 4-star review.

Everything was neat organized clean and perfect. Great location, close to convention center and restaurants. Great communication with hosts. I had issues with my email and they made sure to resent things for me. Parking across the street worked well as we walked everywhere. Wine bar downstairs stays open late and you can hear conversations but it didn’t keep us up. Would recommend this property and would definitely stay again.

Overall, this place worked out fine for us. Nice neighborhood, a convenient grocery store, and an uber away from the things we wanted to see. If you’re not used to being in a city, you might think the bar downstairs is too loud, but it didn’t bother us. What DID bother us was the wifi – or lack thereof. If you need to do any video calls for work, or if your kids want to watch a movie at night, you are out of luck. The wifi is apparently connected to a different apartment in the building and all this unit has is a repeater, so it is absurdly slow. I ended up having to use my phone’s hotspot the whole time.

Everything as described, We liked the area and with 20 -30 min walk you can reach all major places. The was some noise (more from cars in the street than from the wine bar, but did not disturb us.

Staying in a neighborhood apartment instead of a hotel was way better than I had imagined. Hotels in DC are pricey and this allowed both my co-worker and I to attend an event. We both enjoyed the relaxing vibe and the location and can’t wait till next year.

Five night stay with my son, daughter-in-law, and grandsons while I was in town on business. Pros: The apartment was cute and clean. I appreciated the unique artwork and the selection of books on the shelves. The beds were very comfortable. We appreciated the coffee set up by the host. Everything we could want or need was in walking distance. Cons: The noise level on Saturday night was brutal. The traffic including loud cars thumping music and partying downstairs and nearby went on until about 4 am. Played parking roulette each day – no fun. The only tv, a small tv in the living room had a poor wi-fi connection. and was largely unusable. The sofain the living room needs replacing. It was incredibly uncomfortable with a broken leg and the cushions are beat. The dishwasher works, but be careful of the top rack.Overall: I would recommend staying here.

Apartment excess was flawless, many are not. We took their advice and secured parking across the street. The apartment was very well equipped, especially the kitchen, maybe because they own the restaurant below. Everything was in walking distance, stores, shops, sites.We were not hear long enough, due to the record snow storm, but definately will be back.

This condo is in a wonderful location and is within very short walking distance to a grocery store and several yummy restaurants. It needs more bedding for the pull-out couch and more than 1 large towel per guest, as the washing machine is small, but works fine. Parking can be difficult. It would be REALLY nice if the resident parking pass was available for use during the condo stay, but maybe that isn’t an option. Your best option is to park on the block with the Hyatt Hotel. If you park on the side of the street opposite the Hyatt Hotel, it is free, and there are no limits, except for a couple of street sweeping hours on one day per week (I think it’s from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesdays.). There is an alley nearby that doesnt have overnight parking limits on the weekends. Also, overnight parking is available at the Sunoco Convenience Store for 20 per night. We loved this condo and would stay here again!

Extremely convenient location. Close to metro, grocery nearby. Neighborhood is decent. Good restaurants a short walk away. Apartment was clean and well supplied. Communication was good, but because it’s a company and not an individual you sometimes end up talking with multiple people. Regarding the few noise comments in other reviews – yes, it’s a bit noisy. Yes, the windows could be upgraded. But it’s the city and above a bar, and none of us needed earplugs (although our son did run the fan in the room he stayed in). Would we stay here again? Without hesitation!

The apartment was perfect! It had everything we needed and within walking distance to all we wanted to see and do. However, the bar below the apartment was noisy for about an hour before closing time. Also the construction vehicles on the street in front of the place started at 7am so no sleeping in. Other than the off hour noise it was absolutely perfect!

This is a charming two bedroom apt in a great location in DC. The apartment is decorated in perfect DC fashion. Communication with the host was excellent. We enjoyed the wine bar downstairs, but they are a little noisy on the weekend when going to sleep. But we knew that going in so that’s fine. Would stay again on a return visit

This location is close to all the museums and great restaurants. Since it is in a busy area, there is some street noise, so come prepared for that. The customer service was amazing. When we had an issue with the WiFi, they fixed it as soon as possible. Great location!

Great location. can get a bit noisy with the bar downstairs, but its a great bar and “just going upstairs” after a drink is priceless. The apartment is perfect, well decorated with everything you need. Internet is a bit intermittent but, everything else is perfect.

We had so much fun! The location of this property could not have been better. We toured the Mall, Smithsonian museums, The Capitol, saw Helicopter one land and take off from the White House and even went to a Nats baseball game. Metro station was within a couple of blocks and made it so easy to get around! The apartment was comfortable and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again. Perfect for two couples.

Property was very clean and we enjoyed our stay very much. So much better than a hotel room. If you’re heading to the convention center, then this is a great spot. Our only gripe would be the shower in the master bath wasn’t great but manageable.

Our stay was absolutely fantastic. I loved this apartment and the surrounding neighborhood. We could easily use the Metro or Uber/Lyft was also a breeze. The nearby restaurants and grocery store were very convenient. This location was close enough to do all of the sight-seeing we set out to do. The apartment was also very cozy and comfortable, and we needed that after hours of long tours etc. We will definitely come back.

Everything was great, could walk to many places. The Maxwell is nice, but it was pretty loud until late on Saturday night, so if you like to go to bed early, this might not be the best spot for you. It was fine for us because we were still on California time. Thanks!

It is loud with street noise, as others have noted, so keep that in mind if you are a light sleeper. Definitely bring earplugs. I also found it hard to find the entrance at night. Five days in an upbeat neighborhood replete w restaurants, easy access to the Capitol, quick walk to the subways. Couldn’t have been better. The condo is modern, comfortable and sparkling clean. Will check its availability first when next we are in DC.

This property is located in a great little entertainment area with plenty of food and dining options. If you prefer to prepare your own meals, there is a grocery store just a short walk away. It is just a few blocks from the Metro and plenty of scooter/bike rentals nearby, so getting around was a breeze, even for my father with mobility issues. It is in an urban area, so it can get noisy between the businesses and traffic. However, I used a fan at night that was just enough to drown out any of the street noise (there was only one fan between two rooms though, so that wasn’t an option for both of us staying there). The property was very clean and comfortable. There was more than enough space for my father and I during our stay. Communication with the host was excellent and friendly, and the host was very responsive and accommodating when I reached out. Cheaper than what two hotel rooms would have cost me with the comforts of home. Without a doubt I would stay here again!

I recently stayed at this property for four days, and while the house itself is in a lovely, quiet neighborhood and was clean and well-maintained, the experience left much to be desired. The TV didn’t work at all, and the air conditioning failed on one of the days, leaving us uncomfortable in the summer heat. It took a full day to get it repaired, which was frustrating. The internet was also painfully slow, barely reaching 1 megabyte per second, which is far below acceptable standards. What truly soured the stay was the host’s rude and arrogant attitude when we sought help with these issues. Instead of offering any real assistance or an apology, they were dismissive and unhelpful. While the property has potential due to its location and general condition, the lack of functional amenities and the unpleasant interaction with the host make it difficult to recommend this Airbnb. For the price, I expected much better service.

We didn’t have a single complaint.. the apartment is so central to everything. I thought it would be a problem being above a winery, but it wasn’t bad at all. The owners were so easy to reach and handle the small issues we had. It was a great stay

Overall good stay for the price. Location was perfect for us, long but walkable distance to museums, wine bar downstairs was great. Home is nice and clean, older appliances and electronics but they work fine except the TV. TV situation turned out to be impossible for us to navigate, not only would we have had to log into our own streaming services but had to use our own Roku acct, not sure if it’s bc it’s an older TV but it just couldn’t ever connect and I don’t think it’s reasonable to expect all guests use Roku or make an account. It would be nice to at least have that set up so people can get to their streaming services. Generally a good place but I think for 5 stars the unit would need some updates and maybe repairs to the window screens considering how buggy DC is.

This place was very beautiful, convenient and spacious. It very much pains me to write a negative review. However, several hygienic/comfort factors kept us from enjoying our stay. When we first arrived, we found old mouse poop on the smaller bedroom sidetable and on the head-board. We informed the hosts and they came by to add traps. Still, that night we found fresh poop in the large bedroom bathroom. Soon we became aware of a lingering smell (strongest in the small bedroom) which we all recognized as something organic dying. By this point, we had one more night so we stuck it through. I understand the listing is on top of several restaurants but I have stayed in Airbnbs like this before with none of these issues. And considering this place requests such a steep cleaning fee, it’s unacceptable. The Wifi was also dreadful and could barely download a webpage which made their Roku functionally useless as streaming was hard. This is the most disappointed I’ve ever been in an ABNB

Very clean. Nice people to work with. Roku went out but they fixed it by a day or two later. The first fix overheated again, but someone brought another one that worked. Parking was a confusion and anxiety problem. I wish a few things had been explained better before 24hrs ahead so I could have learned how to manage getting into town etc. better.

This is a beautiful space with lots of amenities. Best of all… location, location, location: Steps away from our favorite Ethiopian restaurant. Quick walk to the metro, a short block to supermarket, a bit further to playground with splash pad. We can’t wait to come back.

The apartment is in a delightful urban neighborhood, in walking distance to many restaurants and cafes. It is furnished with all the amenities you could ever need. My two adult sons, my husband and I had a great time being all together.

The apartment is nice and looks like the pictures. The host is very responsive and they give a lot of good advice even before checking up. Beds are comfortable, they provide good towels bath supplies. The full Kitchen is well equipped, nothing is missing. What they really NEED to solve is the drapery and sound issue in the bedrooms. The apartment needs to get some Hotel Style Wall to Wall Black out curtains on both bedrooms and get the windows serviced so the noise from the street doesn’t come into the bedroom. Final thoughts, if you don’t mind light coming into the bedroom in the morning go for it. If light is going to be an issue look somewhere else unless they confirm they have solved the issue.

Home Sweet City was super convenient, about a mile to the mall, close to Convention Center, with a parking garage right across the street. The space was very comfortable for our trip! We would come back!

The location is good and the place is clean and well stocked. However, there is a wine bar directly below the apartment that can be loud at night. The apartment could use an update to accommodate current electronics. The WiFi connection is inconsistent. Watching TV with frequent buffering was frustrating.
