This was a return visit to this property- and this place feels like home! It has everything you need- well stocked. Perfectly clean, great kitchen. Quiet, secure, pretty, nice location. Even sitting out on the front garden bench, watching everyone rush around, was very entertaining. We will always use this apartment for out DC visits.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The free parking and convenient location within walking distance of nearby attractions made it even better. Having a grocery store just 2 minutes walk away was also a huge plus it made it easy to grab anything I needed without going out of my way. Lara and her co-hosts were always responsive and available whenever I needed anything.
A couple of things to keep in mind: there are tenants upstairs, so if you’re a light sleeper, you may hear footsteps early in the morning. Also, the shower is on the smaller side, so taller guests may find it a bit cramped.
Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely consider staying here again.

Great place for a 4 day stay. It’s not overly spacious – but perfectly cozy & comfy. The way the apartment is furnished takes perfect advantage of the available space to divide an fairly open floor plan into separate “spaces” for a well-equipped kitchen, living room, dining area, bedroom & bath. The neighborhood can’t be beat – easy access to all central DC neighborhoods and proximity to gyms and a wide range of great restaurants. Host was very responsive & courteous. Check-in/check-out a breeze. Would definitively return.

The place was very comfortable and cute- actually nicer somehow than the photos appear. Bed was comfy too. The location was really nice and felt quite safe. i would definitely return!
Negative:
Check out is a bit earlier than I would have liked- 10 am seems too early for me, but hosts offered to keep my bags at their office, which was friendly. Other than that, I didn’t have any complaints.

We had trouble getting into the condo with the keypad at check in. We contacted the management and they were very responsive and helpful. After several attempts with the code we were finally able to unlock the door.

I booked this place for my mother in law and her partner to stay in while visiting my husband and I. We chose it for its close proximity to our house and it was comfortable, clean and had all needed amenities. The only thing that would be nice to have is some sort of cleaning service included – rather than for an additional price – for long stays such as hers.

I had a great stay at this basement unit in DC. The space is cozy, quiet, and very well decorated — perfect for one or two people. It’s fully equipped with everything you might need, including a washer and dryer, and both the kitchen and bathroom were spotless. The location is excellent, with plenty of restaurants and amenities within walking distance. I stay in this area often, and this has been one of the best places I’ve found. Highly recommended.

The apartment was just as described—clean, well-appointed, and in a great location only a few blocks from my office, which made it ideal for my work trip. The host was accurate in noting that the unit is in a residential neighborhood with upstairs residents, and some occasional noise is to be expected.
However, I did experience a disruption on my first night around 10:15pm, shortly after getting into bed. The noise from upstairs was unusually loud—sounded like furniture being moved and heavy items dropped—which felt out of step with the stated quiet hours of 10pm to 6am. If those hours apply to guests, I believe they should apply to residents as well. Thankfully, this seemed to be a one-off incident, as the following night was much quieter.
One other minor issue: the hot water in the shower took about 10 minutes to warm up, and even then it never got truly hot—just lukewarm. Not a dealbreaker, but worth noting for future guests. Overall, I enjoyed my stay.

I loved my stay here for my first visit to DC. Clean and comfortable space, exactly as
pictured. Hosts provided very thorough details regarding the space and were responsive. As mentioned, this unit is located below a family unit so occasionally other noises are to be expected. This didn’t interfere with my visit by any means, but is something to be aware of. The area is walkable and peaceful and with the right weather you can really get anywhere from here on foot. I would definitely stay again if I were to revisit.

We stayed here for the weekend and a had a phenomenal time. The location was amazing , walking distance to all the museums and famous landmarks, right next to 14th st with tons of places to eat and bars to go to, and parks around the area for great walks.
The apartment itself was also fantastic! Was very clean, had everything I would expect, and was very cozy! I would 100% come here again next time I come to DC. The listing mentions a family living in the upstairs unit, which I was slightly concerned might be loud, but we didn’t hear a peep from any neighbors the whole time, was totally silent. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a stay in the prime DC area.

The home was a decent place to stay and the hosts are really nice and checked in regularly! It was easy to find and looked like the pictures posted. However the place is a little smaller than we expected and not meant for more than 2 people. The shower is extremely small. Overall it was a good stay.

Definitely what my friend and I needed for a weekend stay in DC! As far as the area, lots of walkable coffee shops and small restaurants nearby. Area felt safe and was generally quiet at night.
The space was small but had all of the essentials. The lighting was a bit dim when it was darker outside, but the AC units worked well. My only negative would be the shower; it was very small and hard to move around while inside. The water pressure in the shower was also on the weaker side.
Communication with the hosts was seamless and they even accommodated an early check-in for us.
Overall good location and good space for a quick trip.

Beautiful, eclectically decorated space with lots of thoughtful touches, including locally sourced coffees, teas, and toiletries, plus an interesting collection of books, DVDs, and games. Very clean. Really nice kitchen for the size, with upscale appliances. Parking was relatively easy (weekend). Good location and fairly quiet for DC downtown. As others have noted, this is a basement apartment and also shower is small. Not negatives to us but good to know. We had a few communication glitches initially with managing company and interface with VRBO website, but the company was easy to work with and everything was resolved in a timely manner. The stay itself was perfect.

Amazing location, amazing apartment! HSC was super friendly, very active and welcoming. We felt very safe at their place and enjoyed our stay! The apartment (living room, dining area, work nook, kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom) was perfect for a single business traveler and I suspect it works well for a small family or couple on holiday. Owner’s detailed instructions were very helpful. The residential area of the house is close to some restaurants, stores/shops, Metro stops and major streets–transportation time or availability was not an issue at all. The media/television screen, for those who would use it (I didn’t much) was easy to use, and it had a library of DVD’s that can be useful. (I miss having the main PBS channel on the common channel lineup, but I have access to that channel by computer, and that is not a comment on this apartment in particular. I’d certainly rent the place again when traveling to central DC.

The apartment was comfortable and clean and the photos represented it well. Great shower pressure and well equipped kitchen. The location was perfect for a walk to the Smithsonian museums (about 30-40 mins) or a quick ride-share drive. VRBO never sent our check in info but the property managers were available by phone quickly to provide the check-in code.

My 7 days stay was great! I brought my own food to cook and it was great to have a fully operational kitchen to work in. There are some resturants local that where amazing too! Give yourself to park when you come in, finding a spot can be tough, but it’s great having a parking pass to use! I didn’t realize how to turn up the temp night 1 (use the remote on both heaters!!!) but they promptly fixed it the next afternoon. Would be happy staying here again!

The location was perfect—close to local attractions yet tucked away enough for a peaceful retreat. The corner grocery store, only 1.5 blocks walking distance, made it easy to buy daily supplies 😀. The DCBikeshare –
The e-bike share is just a short walk away, making it incredibly easy to hop on a bike. The availability of e-bikes enhanced our overall experience, allowing us to enjoy the scenery and fresh air while getting from the local neighborhood to Mt Vernon subway station or points of interest.
We loved the cozy atmosphere. The kitchen was well-equipped, making it easy to prepare breakfast. The living room is a fantastic bonus for relaxing in the evenings.

A sleek, modern, and clean 1 BR English Basement unit in a row house that was quiet and private. This unit is walk able to DuPont Circle, Logan Circle, U Street Corridor, and the Convention Center. Great place to feel at home for a couples romantic getaway, or a business traveler that wants a different experience than a hotel. I was a single traveler in town visiting friends and everything was perfect. Will stay again!!

I used this property as a remote work location for two weeks while I explored DC as much as possible. I cannot recommend it enough – super responsive owners, clean, cozy, all the amenities you could hope for and the location is fantastic. This is a really great place to stay if you want a quiet place to unwind after a day walking the floor. It’s a very compact place but it is comfortable and equipped. It is literally a few short blocks from the convention center. There are some stores close by that can fill in some immediate needs. Very nice place to stay and a good value.

Downtown DC was an amazing place to stay! It is located in a safe neighborhood in walking distance from downtown. The furniture is all very clean and comfortable. The owner was very responsive and helpful to meet any additional needs during my stay. I would recommend this rental to anyone looking to have an authentic, comfortable stay in DC!

Enjoyed staying few nights at this place during my visit in DC- the location is pretty convenient, the metro bus line going to National Mall and Smithsonian Museums area is right around the corner, and there are great restaurants and Whole Foods just a couple of blocks away. Very walkable and quiet at nights. It’s a cozy place, comfortable for one person, two probably would be a max. Great use of space, plenty of closet space and counter spaces for travel items and clothing. Bed was comfortable to get good rest.
Couple of things to note, 1) it is a basement/downstairs unit. You will hear upstairs neighbors footsteps and voices, street noises and some car noises in the morning. These didn’t bother me during my stay but if you are sensitive, you may not like staying here. 2) since it is a lower unit I did not open the blinds, there are some natural lights coming in, the place is well lit with light fixtures 3) shower is pretty tight (i am 5’8”) but enough to turn around and such.

I had a great stay at this basement unit in DC. The space is cozy, quiet, and very well decorated — perfect for one or two people. It’s fully equipped with everything you might need, including a washer and dryer, and both the kitchen and bathroom were spotless. The location is excellent, with plenty of restaurants and amenities within walking distance. I stay in this area often, and this has been one of the best places I’ve found. Highly recommended.

The apartment was just as described—clean, well-appointed, and in a great location only a few blocks from my office, which made it ideal for my work trip. The host was accurate in noting that the unit is in a residential neighborhood with upstairs residents, and some occasional noise is to be expected.
However, I did experience a disruption on my first night around 10:15pm, shortly after getting into bed. The noise from upstairs was unusually loud—sounded like furniture being moved and heavy items dropped—which felt out of step with the stated quiet hours of 10pm to 6am. If those hours apply to guests, I believe they should apply to residents as well. Thankfully, this seemed to be a one-off incident, as the following night was much quieter.
One other minor issue: the hot water in the shower took about 10 minutes to warm up, and even then it never got truly hot—just lukewarm. Not a dealbreaker, but worth noting for future guests. Overall, I enjoyed my stay.

I loved my stay here for my first visit to DC. Clean and comfortable space, exactly as
pictured. Hosts provided very thorough details regarding the space and were responsive. As mentioned, this unit is located below a family unit so occasionally other noises are to be expected. This didn’t interfere with my visit by any means, but is something to be aware of. The area is walkable and peaceful and with the right weather you can really get anywhere from here on foot. I would definitely stay again if I were to revisit.

We stayed here for the weekend and a had a phenomenal time. The location was amazing , walking distance to all the museums and famous landmarks, right next to 14th st with tons of places to eat and bars to go to, and parks around the area for great walks.
The apartment itself was also fantastic! Was very clean, had everything I would expect, and was very cozy! I would 100% come here again next time I come to DC. The listing mentions a family living in the upstairs unit, which I was slightly concerned might be loud, but we didn’t hear a peep from any neighbors the whole time, was totally silent. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a stay in the prime DC area.

The home was a decent place to stay and the hosts are really nice and checked in regularly! It was easy to find and looked like the pictures posted. However the place is a little smaller than we expected and not meant for more than 2 people. The shower is extremely small. Overall it was a good stay.

Definitely what my friend and I needed for a weekend stay in DC! As far as the area, lots of walkable coffee shops and small restaurants nearby. Area felt safe and was generally quiet at night.
The space was small but had all of the essentials. The lighting was a bit dim when it was darker outside, but the AC units worked well. My only negative would be the shower; it was very small and hard to move around while inside. The water pressure in the shower was also on the weaker side.
Communication with the hosts was seamless and they even accommodated an early check-in for us.
Overall good location and good space for a quick trip.

Beautiful, eclectically decorated space with lots of thoughtful touches, including locally sourced coffees, teas, and toiletries, plus an interesting collection of books, DVDs, and games. Very clean. Really nice kitchen for the size, with upscale appliances. Parking was relatively easy (weekend). Good location and fairly quiet for DC downtown. As others have noted, this is a basement apartment and also shower is small. Not negatives to us but good to know. We had a few communication glitches initially with managing company and interface with VRBO website, but the company was easy to work with and everything was resolved in a timely manner. The stay itself was perfect.

The apartment (living room, dining area, work nook, kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom) was perfect for a single business traveler and I suspect it works well for a small family or couple on holiday. Owner's detailed instructions were very helpful. The residential area of the house is close to some restaurants, stores/shops, Metro stops and major streets--transportation time or availability was not an issue at all. The media/television screen, for those who would use it (I didn't much) was easy to use, and it had a library of DVD's that can be useful. (I miss having the main PBS channel on the common channel lineup, but I have access to that channel by computer, and that is not a comment on this apartment in particular. I'd certainly rent the place again when traveling to central DC.

The apartment was comfortable and clean and the photos represented it well. Great shower pressure and well equipped kitchen. The location was perfect for a walk to the Smithsonian museums (about 30-40 mins) or a quick ride-share drive. VRBO never sent our check in info but the property managers were available by phone quickly to provide the check-in code.

Give yourself to park when you come in, finding a spot can be tough, but it’s great having a parking pass to use! I didn’t realize how to turn up the temp night 1 (use the remote on both heaters!!!) but they promptly fixed it the next afternoon. Would be happy staying here again!

The e-bike share is just a short walk away, making it incredibly easy to hop on a bike. The availability of e-bikes enhanced our overall experience, allowing us to enjoy the scenery and fresh air while getting from the local neighborhood to Mt Vernon subway station or points of interest.
We loved the cozy atmosphere. The kitchen was well-equipped, making it easy to prepare breakfast. The living room is a fantastic bonus for relaxing in the evenings.

A sleek, modern, and clean 1 BR English Basement unit in a row house that was quiet and private. This unit is walk able to DuPont Circle, Logan Circle, U Street Corridor, and the Convention Center. Great place to feel at home for a couples romantic getaway, or a business traveler that wants a different experience than a hotel. I was a single traveler in town visiting friends and everything was perfect. Will stay again!!

I used this property as a remote work location for two weeks while I explored DC as much as possible. This is a really great place to stay if you want a quiet place to unwind after a day walking the floor. It’s a very compact place but it is comfortable and equipped. It is literally a few short blocks from the convention center. There are some stores close by that can fill in some immediate needs. Very nice place to stay and a good value.

Enjoyed staying few nights at this place during my visit in DC- the location is pretty convenient, the metro bus line going to National Mall and Smithsonian Museums area is right around the corner, and there are great restaurants and Whole Foods just a couple of blocks away. Very walkable and quiet at nights. It’s a cozy place, comfortable for one person, two probably would be a max. Great use of space, plenty of closet space and counter spaces for travel items and clothing. Bed was comfortable to get good rest.
Couple of things to note, 1) it is a basement/downstairs unit. You will hear upstairs neighbors footsteps and voices, street noises and some car noises in the morning. These didn’t bother me during my stay but if you are sensitive, you may not like staying here. 2) since it is a lower unit I did not open the blinds, there are some natural lights coming in, the place is well lit with light fixtures 3) shower is pretty tight (i am 5’8”) but enough to turn around and such.

The accommodations were exactly as described and presented in the photos. It's a perfect location for anyone who wants to be in central DC - tons of restaurants and bars nearby, easy access to the metro, and options to purchase groceries and cook in a well-equipped kitchen. The apartment was well-updated and comfortable - a perfect place for those in need of a base camp while they explore the city or visit for work. The hosts were extremely responsive and were able to accomodate an earlier check-in for a reasonable fee. While the apartment is directly accessible from the street, the surrounding location felt very safe and the apartment itself was well-secured with a digital deadbolt lock. Everything was very clean, the wifi worked great for work calls, and the appliances and bathroom were tidy and well-functioning. And despite this being a basement apartment, it received great natural light during the day.

Very well decorated. It's garden level i.e. basement, but didn't feel too basement-y at all. It even got pretty good light from the street facing windows. Everything in the apartment is very well designed, and very well equipped. They do a lot with a little space (maybe 250 square feet) and make it very nice to look at. Super clean. The kitchen had everything to cook anything you need.
It was dark for sleeping, and though there was a little noise from the upstairs neighbors, it did not bother me, or get in the way of sleep.
I liked the location too, near Logan Circle, so easy to get to the Mall and other areas of Northwest. Good restaurants, and a grocery store nearby. It's about an 8 minute walk to Mt Vernon metro stop.

At semi-basement, it’s not easy to notice this from photos or description, although it indeed mentioned in an intriguing way (“downstairs suites”). Otherwise , the room is well designed, with good facilities, and interesting. If you don’t care it’s at semi-basement, this can be a good choice.

So, If someone wants to find a bright place, you should find another place. This place is quite dark, so it made me feel bad. I paid it all, but I booked another place to stay. Nice little place right next to Logan circle/14th st with lots of restaurants, bars in close proximity. Walkable distance to the Mall (Smithsonian museums and monuments).
Hosts were very friendly, quick to respond and gave tons of local recommendations.
The only thing I would point out is that the 4:30pm check in combined with a 10am check out makes it very difficult for travelers and could lead to some inconvenience with luggage etc.
We really enjoyed our stay and would come back.

This was a great location with a convenient 10min walk to the Convention Center. My colleague and I visited DC for a conference and found this spot perfect for our stay. It is neat and clean, within walking distance to at least two grocery stores that we visited and plenty of restaurants and bars. The host was responsive and gave us lots of info to make the stay carefree. Even though it is a one bedroom, the couch is large enough for an adult to sleep on and was very comfortable. I would stay here again and recommend for folks looking for an easy stay near the Convention Center. Thanks again!

We stayed here for a few nights during an oppressive DC heat/humidity wave. It was cool and quiet, thoughtfully decorated, and it had a well-equipped kitchen. This was a perfect stay for my business meeting at the nearby convention center. Coffee shop/bakery was right on my way each morning and it was a short walk back and forth. It was a great location and walking distance to various sites including restaurants and the White House. The home is clean and as described. Perfect for 2 people although can be small. Our main issue was the neighbors upstairs, as it is a basement unit; music was extremely loud the night of new years. So of course we understand it may have been an isolated incident, but because of that we couldn’t sleep (music was blasted enough to cause vibrations to the walls from 8 pm to 5 am) and decided to opt out of our last night. The first two nights we heard various odd noises. We communicated to the host our concerns and we’re ultimately refunded for our last night. Communication was overall easy and we’re thankful we were able to opt out of our last night. We’re not sure if we’d stay again but overall nice place.

This unit is in a great location! It was perfect for a long weekend in DC. The space is good for 2 people. A couple things to note: 1) the shower is doable but tight if you are tall; 2) you can hear noise from the upstairs neighbors (they have a child running around). Absolutely loved this space. Hosts were so easy to reach and helpful. Clean, ideal location, and super well stocked for a mid length stay. Everything is exactly as pictured and described. Would totally stay again!!!
