It started off okay but we had to leave after a couple of nights when a pipe broke and we discovered a half inch of water flooding the place at 4am. We evacuated to a hotel at 6am. Emergency maintenance hadn’t shown up and we weren’t offered an alternate place to stay until about 4 hours after reporting problem (by which time we had already found a place to stay on our own).

Solid option near bustling 14th street with so many great places within walking distance. There is a beer garden across the street that’s a bit noisy and raucous outside at times, especially on weekends, but once inside and especially in the bedroom in the back it didn’t bother us. Would definitely consider booking here again.

Really lovely place to stay for a trip to DC. Close to everything and very walkable. We travel with kids and it was very kid friendly. The hosts were very responsive and gave great recommendations.

Great location! I loved how it was a very short walk to access multiple restaurants and all of the sights. The airbnb was beautiful, very comfortable, and clean. I’d highly recommend booking this airbnb due to comfort and proximity to restaurants/sights.

By far one of the best days I’ve had within the last five years! The place was very clean, very comfortable and equipped with everything needed for a great stay! The linens were super fresh, and the bed was extra comfortable and the pillows felt brand new! The location was great! Just a few steps away from 14th St. Surprisingly, very quiet and peaceful seeing as though the location is so close to all the action.

This basement apartment was absolutely adorable! The bed was extremely comfortable and the linens, crisp and clean. The apartment is situated in the middle of a wonderful neighborhood. Just walk down the street and around the corner and in two minutes and you have your choice of coffee, ice cream, restaurants, and shopping. The residents and business owners are friendly, and we felt safe and comfortable walking around at night. Locking and unlocking the door was a bit tricky but once we figure out that you need to pull the door close to you as you turn the key, it worked out. The tea cups were a little small for us and the handles were rather slippery. I almost dropped them a couple of times! We would stay here again.

This Logan Circle location was exactly what I was looking for. The English basement was very comfortable for us and the amenities made our stay even more pleasant. The HSC team really thought of everything! Due to the weather and also the style of home (English basement) there is a lack of natural light, and the upstairs neighbors footsteps were quite loud at times but otherwise it was excellent. Peaceful, clean and very homey. I would stay here again.

Okay, but not for us. Whole place was outdated, had a slight musty smell, bathroom was small and stained, saw two spiders in the shower which left us feeling icky for lack of a better word. Keep in mind this is a basement unit so natural light is very sparse. We had to cancel our reservation early due to an emergency but still haven’t received a partial refund that the host said we would get.
Pros: location, kitchen was stocked up very well, bed mattress was comfy.

Nice place, good neighborhood, quite clean, well-equipped, comfortable bed (though starting to sag on one side), laundry worked well. Minor nitpicks: low bathroom door (tall people need to duck), heating unit in living room barely able to keep up (I was there when snowy and high temp was 32F/0C), fixed shower head (prefer wand). The family above is quite loud as others have noted but I usually didn’t hear them until after 8am. Would stay again.

I had some issues arise during my stay that the Home Sweet City team responded to quickly within minutes and fully resolved within 24 hours. They were incredibly helpful.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The location – near good coffee (The Coffee Bar), restaurants, and Trader Joe’s – was great. Host communication was very good. The apartment was well laid out and had the supplies we needed. The only thing that was iffy was the foldout sofa, which was on the flimsy side when folded out. I wouldn’t recommend it for an adult sleeper.

We loved this apartment! Spotlessly clean, thoughtfully designed, comfortable and very attractive.
The location is excellent, very close to all the 14 street area has to offer , yet so quiet. Walkable to Logan and DuPont Circles , the monuments and museums. We have been to DC multiple times in the past few years and this is the apartment we hope to rent again.

This apartment is in a fantastic location. Its very well connected for transport around the DC area by bus and metro, and it is a lively area with lots of bars, restaurants and supermarkets within a couple of minutes walk. We loved the vibe of the area which felt safe and friendly. The apartment is perfect – good size and very well equipped. Would definitely stay again if I get the chance to come back to DC!

This was the perfect location and size for our family of four who was on the move throughout the day. The kitchen is well appointed. The Metro is a 10 minute walk; plenty of restaurants and a convenient Trader Joe’s.

This sweet basement apartment was perfectly located to explore Washington DC and the 14th St area. Easy walk to the metro and many good restaurants…not to mention, Trader Joe’s is just around the corner to stock up on supplies. As mentioned in other reviews, if your upstairs neighbors are home, you will definitely hear them. It wasn’t a problem for us as they were never walking around after our bedtime (and they weren’t home the first several days).The space was clean, comfortable and cute. Hosts were very responsive when we had questions. I would definitely stay here again if I was in the area.

The location makes this place worthwhile. It was easy to find, right off a busy area with stores, restaurants, and bars, and close to a bus stop. Home Sweet City communicates quickly and is responsive. Things to note but aren’t dealbreakers are some stains on the bathroom sink and shower curtain. The sheet had a small stain but was clearly washed and clean. The laundry machines were super helpful as was the water filter pitcher in the kitchen. Upstairs neighbors can be heard quite a bit when walking, but this was noted on the listing and wasn’t a problem for me. Light sleepers would definitely notice both daytime and middle of the night. I’d recommend this place for the value and location alone. One gripe I had was the instructions to take out the trash and recycling before the cleaning crew arrives upon checkout seems unnecessary for an Airbnb to require of guests. I could find the trash cans in the alley anyway and would recommend this step be removed from the checkout process.

We had a very comfortable stay in this beautiful basement apartment. Everything went smoothly at check-in/check-out. We felt right at home. Plenty of closet space and areas to relax. We didn’t cook, but the kitchen looked to be well setup for it. The neighborhood had everything within easy reach. We used Capital Bikeshare to get all around town and this was a great home base. Thank you!

Can’t even put together words to describe how great this place was for my first trip to DC ever. I felt so at home that I didn’t wanna leave. You’re surrounded by the city but it’s peaceful when you’re inside. Restaraunts, bars, shops, all within walking distance. Doi Moi was an amazing place within steps of the house. I felt so safe everywhere I went and I couldn’t have picked a better location. We mainly did Uber rides to the city center and it was always less than $15. I appreciated the britta filter in the fridge, it was some of the best water I’ve ever tasted. The beds were super comfy and as someone who never sleeps without a sleep noise machine, it was nice to have one provided when I accidentally left mine at home. Overall, a 10/10 experience. I can’t wait to come back.

This is a great spot! One of the best Airbnb experiences I’ve had, cannot say enough positive things. The hosts thought of everything, I loved and appreciated the little details like providing a few detergent pods to do laundry and salt+olive oil to cook a few simple meals.
The area is really nice, felt safe, and very walkable. You have a few grocery stories nearby and while you can see a lot of activity right outside the apartment over the weekend, it is both quiet and tranquil inside!

I wanted to give this place 5 stars but just couldn’t because I was unable to sleep due to the extremely loud footsteps from the family that lives above. With sound machines and noise canceling headphones I was still woken up every morning at 7 am by heavy loud footsteps that continued for hours each day, I barely slept during the week I spent here. The place was immaculately clean and extremely well equipped. The bed and couch were comfortable and the details are thoughtful, it has everything you might need (except peace to sleep). The communication was good and the location was nice and central and safe. The pictures show lots of natural light however there is none. It is a basement level apartment hence the thunderous footsteps and the complete absence of natural light. Everything was smooth and easy about check in and check out although they could not accommodate my request for an earlier check in or check out (except for $60 extra).

We enjoyed this place and the location is great. Works well for 2 or 3 people, with 1 person sleeping on the pullout. Lots to do on 14th street. We used the Metro often at the U and 13th street stop. 10-12 min walk. Home Sweet City does a nice job with communication and the place was just as described. We will certainly consider using the place again in the future.

This sweet basement apartment was perfectly located to explore Washington DC and the 14th St area. Easy walk to the metro and many good restaurants…not to mention, Trader Joe’s is just around the corner to stock up on supplies. As mentioned in other reviews, if your upstairs neighbors are home, you will definitely hear them. It wasn’t a problem for us as they were never walking around after our bedtime (and they weren’t home the first several days).The space was clean, comfortable and cute. Hosts were very responsive when we had questions. I would definitely stay here again if I was in the area.

The location makes this place worthwhile. It was easy to find, right off a busy area with stores, restaurants, and bars, and close to a bus stop. Home Sweet City communicates quickly and is responsive. Things to note but aren’t dealbreakers are some stains on the bathroom sink and shower curtain. The sheet had a small stain but was clearly washed and clean. The laundry machines were super helpful as was the water filter pitcher in the kitchen. Upstairs neighbors can be heard quite a bit when walking, but this was noted on the listing and wasn’t a problem for me. Light sleepers would definitely notice both daytime and middle of the night. I’d recommend this place for the value and location alone. One gripe I had was the instructions to take out the trash and recycling before the cleaning crew arrives upon checkout seems unnecessary for an Airbnb to require of guests. I could find the trash cans in the alley anyway and would recommend this step be removed from the checkout process.

We had a very comfortable stay in this beautiful basement apartment. Everything went smoothly at check-in/check-out. We felt right at home. Plenty of closet space and areas to relax. We didn't cook, but the kitchen looked to be well setup for it. The neighborhood had everything within easy reach. We used Capital Bikeshare to get all around town and this was a great home base. Thank you!

Can’t even put together words to describe how great this place was for my first trip to DC ever. I felt so at home that I didn’t wanna leave. You’re surrounded by the city but it’s peaceful when you’re inside. Restaraunts, bars, shops, all within walking distance. Doi Moi was an amazing place within steps of the house. I felt so safe everywhere I went and I couldn’t have picked a better location. We mainly did Uber rides to the city center and it was always less than $15. I appreciated the britta filter in the fridge, it was some of the best water I’ve ever tasted. The beds were super comfy and as someone who never sleeps without a sleep noise machine, it was nice to have one provided when I accidentally left mine at home. Overall, a 10/10 experience. I can’t wait to come back.

This is a great spot! One of the best Airbnb experiences I've had, cannot say enough positive things. The hosts thought of everything, I loved and appreciated the little details like providing a few detergent pods to do laundry and salt+olive oil to cook a few simple meals.
The area is really nice, felt safe, and very walkable. You have a few grocery stories nearby and while you can see a lot of activity right outside the apartment over the weekend, it is both quiet and tranquil inside!

I wanted to give this place 5 stars but just couldn’t because I was unable to sleep due to the extremely loud footsteps from the family that lives above. With sound machines and noise canceling headphones I was still woken up every morning at 7 am by heavy loud footsteps that continued for hours each day, I barely slept during the week I spent here. The place was immaculately clean and extremely well equipped. The bed and couch were comfortable and the details are thoughtful, it has everything you might need (except peace to sleep). The communication was good and the location was nice and central and safe. The pictures show lots of natural light however there is none. It is a basement level apartment hence the thunderous footsteps and the complete absence of natural light. Everything was smooth and easy about check in and check out although they could not accommodate my request for an earlier check in or check out (except for $60 extra).

We enjoyed this place and the location is great. Works well for 2 or 3 people, with 1 person sleeping on the pullout. Lots to do on 14th street. We used the Metro often at the U and 13th street stop. 10-12 min walk. Home Sweet City does a nice job with communication and the place was just as described. We will certainly consider using the place again in the future.

We had a great stay here! Right in the middle of the Logan Circle area, it was walkable to everything and also to the Metro. Hosts were great, really helpful, and very responsive.
