The property was well appointed and very clean. The location is superb with accessible parking on the street. We felt very safe in this quiet community. It is within a reasonable walking distance to so many attractions. We would highly recommend this location for a small family. I also need to acknowledge the team that owns/services to property. They were incredibly responsive and accommodating. All emails were responded to within 10 minutes or less. We left clothing items and they contacted us and we were able to make arrangements to pick up our belongings. This was all around a great stay for our needs. We are in the DC area multiple times during the year and we will be booking with them again.

The host was incredibly nice, had lots of nice recommendations. Very responsive and quick to help with anything that came up. The apartment was nice, very clean and big beds. The location was also so beautiful and great for exploring DC. Lots of nice shops and restaurants nearby and a 25 minute to the museums nearby. Overall 10/10!

Parking was good. Rooms were clean. Fully stocked kitchen. Bathroom was nice. I would say it’s more suitable for a family of 4 due to the living room being smaller, only a couch to sit on. There is a dinning room table and chairs. We were a family of 5 with older kids. I would highly recommend this place to family and friends. Great location.

Overall the property ended up being good. Two things to improve upon. First and very important this is a basement unit where the family living above is very active. Second, we had no access code when we arrived despite a very thoughtful and thorough guide sent in plenty of time. I had to call VRBO for access at 8 pm in 100 degree temps to get into the unit as multiple attempts were made the the owners for access. Neighborhood felt safe and ease of transportation was good. Again overall the place was good.

This rental was everything we hoped with an excellent location and all the amenities. I have a rough time with pillows at hotels and theirs were perfect! I got great sleep. And they even had a curling iron. We’d definitely stay here again.

This was a very nice unit for our family of 4 while touring DC. It had a nice space for us to rest which was close to the National Mall. We loved the ease of the laundry in the unit and the bathroom was very nice. The kitchen was well-stocked and there were enough towels, blankets and pillows to go around. Nice location, good communication with the host and easy to follow directions for using the amenities.

Perfect location for us. Visiting our daughter and son-in-law who just had their first baby. They live two blocks away. During our visit our daughter’s oven was not working. We were able to make meals at the Airbnb and bring them over until their repair man came. We had a very nice stay.

This is a nice basement apartment conveniently located for sightseeing (walking distance to Capitol and National Mall). Everything went smoothly, except a minor problem with a noisy machine which turned on and off at times. The owner explained it was part of the heating system and suggested to come back if the noise would have been too loud. If you plan to stay in the apartment during the day, it’s something to keep in mind. One of the bedrooms is separated by a simple door (which is locked) only from another apartment. We didn’t hear much noise coming from there, though.

We enjoyed our stay in this spacious, lovely apartment. It is inviting — clean and comfortable – and tastefully decorated. The neighborhood is safe and we had no trouble registering our car online for free guest parking. The host gave us the link and clear instructions. We have family who live in the neighborhood and it was just a short walk to see them. I hope we can stay here again !

Beautiful stay, very cozy, clean and organized. Has everything you need. Very peaceful neighborhood. Don’t recommend going to the Aldi as it shows huge difference of atmosphere even though it’s close to the house. I would recommend trader joe at Alexandria. Very close to the touristic side of the city if you rent a car. Overall very worth staying over this house.

Great stay and in an area that was nice and easy to get around. The place was clean and tidy, but unfortunately the air conditioning unit in the apartment is for both the upstairs residence as well as the basement Airbnb and was very noisy so we had issues with the noise all through the day and night. Michelle was responsive, but unfortunately it made it difficult to sleep and stay in the apartment. Hopefully they will be able to fix the issue soon but wish we had known this before booking

What a lovely location!! This is a beautiful walkable neighborhood and we felt safe every moment. The home was very clean which is important to us. The beds were comfortable and the shower was great! We didn’t need the kitchen but it was well stocked. The hosts checked on us throughout our stay which was appreciated. Most definitely would choose this location again!!

We absolutely loved our stay here! Two parents, two college kids, this was the perfect size for us. Hosts were super responsive to questions and needs. This neighborhood is very walkable, there’s a coffee/wine shop just around the corner and numerous restaurants about 10 minutes away. We chose to use ride share to sightseeing destinations. Overall, a great place for those who want some peace and quiet in the evening and a family atmosphere.

Great location in a quiet neighborhood. This particular property is at the basement level, something i did not realize while booking and took us a while to find that we should try the entry code on the door downstairs from the garden/road level. The place was clean and exactly as the photos show it to be. We had a AC issue due to the storm and internet outage but no other issues. The property is managed by a property management agency which is fairly responsive on chat. Overall, recommend the place, will stay again.

Adorable place. Super clean, minimalist decor, shower is gorgeous. Walkable tree-lined streets. Pacci’s Italian restaurant is a short distance walk and we highly recommend. The only downside is the lack of parking, so if you have a car, know that you’ll have to hope for a good spot somewhere or consider using an app like SpotHero. (Apparently you can park in a Zone permit spot overnight; just have to move your car by 7 am)

My family and I really enjoyed our stay. We had a busy 4 days of seeing DC and visiting all the museums and landmarks, it was the perfect place to come home and relax after a long day. The house was just as described, private and clean. The host was responsive and easy to work with. If we ever go back to DC we would most definitely get try to book here again. Some of the reviews mentioned a few things like the sound of noise upstairs. We noticed a little bit of it but I’m sure we were loud too with our kids. There is reviews about the rug in the living room which does slide and is kind of annoying but again not a big negative at all. It had all the amenities in the kitchen we needed and having a washer and dryer was a huge bonus. We were very happy with our stay!

Nice unit, comfortable and everything we needed for our three night stay in DC. Nice neighborhood and good local restaurants to walk to. A/c worked well, but the condenser is in the unit and LOUD. We had the same issue with the rug being a trip hazard and just removed it from the living room because it was a hassle. Beds were comfortable, kitchen well equipped.

Great area to stay in. Nice and clean and really appreciated having a washer/dryer to use. The apartment was easy to access and the perfect size for a family of 5. The only thing I would caution is the rug in the living area is a bit of a trip hazard, it doesn’t have any grip under it to stop it from moving on the tile. Ask me how I know? I walked into the living room and slid. Other than that minor incident the stay was great and would recommend this as a place to stay.

I had to be in DC for a few days for work, and this place was perfect. It’s very close to the Capitol and easy to get to and from. The place is clean and welcoming. The bed was comfortable, and all the place had everything I needed. There was a minor plumbing issue, and the hosts took care of it quickly. Their quick response was excellent. I hope to stay here again when I travel for work.

We were in town over the weekend for a family wedding. This was a fantastic apartment in a great location, lots of space and everything we needed. Great communication prior to our visit on how to obtain parking permits. There was an area guide to restaurants and attractions. The host provided a QR code for information about the house such as how to set the temperature. The place was very clean, and the beds were comfortable. A great place would recommend to anyone looking to visit DC.

The location was amazing. it was about a 20 minute walk to the capitol and a great veiw of the washington monument! There are two bedrooms and one bathroom, there wasnt a bath tub, the owners supplied shampo, conditioner, and body wash with refills which was neat! Great place, amazing for the price.

Lizzy, Bethany and the Home Sweet City Team were excellent hosts. They are very accessible and responsive. The home was as described. The neighborhood is idyllic. A nice walk to Eastern Market, lovely parks and a family feel. I rented a car and needed help applying for the visitor permit. Bethany was kind enough to help and sent me a copy of the permit. As noted in other reviews, you need the make and license plate of the car in order to get the permit. I wound up going to CVS to print it. I always found parking within a block of the home. They are upfront about upstairs noise. I was awoken at 8am by what sounded like the upstairs washer/dryer. I thought it was a reasonable time. Consider ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. The AC is loud, but it was like white noise for me. I liked that the apartment did not feel dark. You do have to go down stairs to enter. The only bugs I encountered were mosquitoes. I highly recommend this location!

This place is definitely safe and peaceful. It is also quite expensive, though. However, I booked at the last minute, and thankfully, they allowed me to stay in. Something to keep in mind is that the check-in is at 4 pm, and the check-out is at 10:30 am. The good thing is that if you need to check in early or stay longer, they are open to working with you based on availability. Overall, it is a good place to stay.

I was in DC for a work trip, and I had such a lovely stay in this home located in the historic DC neighborhood. I stayed in the same area last year for a work trip and knew I had to stay in this neighborhood again. It’s walking distance from a park and different restaurants and cafes – I highly recommend Wine and Butter Cafe! The home was beautiful and clean and had all the helpful amenities! I 100% recommend this location and would definitely stay here again!

Great stay and in an area that was nice and easy to get around. The place was clean and tidy, but unfortunately the air conditioning unit in the apartment is for both the upstairs residence as well as the basement Airbnb and was very noisy so we had issues with the noise all through the day and night. Michelle was responsive, but unfortunately it made it difficult to sleep and stay in the apartment. Hopefully they will be able to fix the issue soon but wish we had known this before booking

What a lovely location!! This is a beautiful walkable neighborhood and we felt safe every moment. The home was very clean which is important to us. The beds were comfortable and the shower was great! We absolutely loved our stay here! Two parents, two college kids, this was the perfect size for us. Hosts were super responsive to questions and needs. This neighborhood is very walkable, there’s a coffee/wine shop just around the corner and numerous restaurants about 10 minutes away. We chose to use ride share to sightseeing destinations. Overall, a great place for those who want some peace and quiet in the evening and a family atmosphere.

Great location in a quiet neighborhood. This particular property is at the basement level, something i did not realize while booking and took us a while to find that we should try the entry code on the door downstairs from the garden/road level. The place was clean and exactly as the photos show it to be. We had a AC issue due to the storm and internet outage but no other issues. The property is managed by a property management agency which is fairly responsive on chat. Overall, recommend the place, will stay again.

Adorable place. Super clean, minimalist decor, shower is gorgeous. Walkable tree-lined streets. Pacci’s Italian restaurant is a short distance walk and we highly recommend. The only downside is the lack of parking, so if you have a car, know that you’ll have to hope for a good spot somewhere or consider using an app like SpotHero. (Apparently you can park in a Zone permit spot overnight; just have to move your car by 7 am)

My family and I really enjoyed our stay. We had a busy 4 days of seeing DC and visiting all the museums and landmarks, it was the perfect place to come home and relax after a long day. The house was just as described, private and clean. The host was responsive and easy to work with. If we ever go back to DC we would most definitely get try to book here again. Some of the reviews mentioned a few things like the sound of noise upstairs. We noticed a little bit of it but I’m sure we were loud too with our kids. There is reviews about the rug in the living room which does slide and is kind of annoying but again not a big negative at all. It had all the amenities in the kitchen we needed and having a washer and dryer was a huge bonus. We were very happy with our stay!

Nice unit, comfortable and everything we needed for our three night stay in DC. Nice neighborhood and good local restaurants to walk to. A/c worked well, but the condenser is in the unit and LOUD. We had the same issue with the rug being a trip hazard and just removed it from the living room because it was a hassle. Beds were comfortable, kitchen well equipped.

Great area to stay in. Nice and clean and really appreciated having a washer/dryer to use. The apartment was easy to access and the perfect size for a family of 5. The only thing I would caution is the rug in the living area is a bit of a trip hazard, it doesn't have any grip under it to stop it from moving on the tile. Ask me how I know? I walked into the living room and slid. Other than that minor incident the stay was great and would recommend this as a place to stay.

I had to be in DC for a few days for work, and this place was perfect. It's very close to the Capitol and easy to get to and from. The place is clean and welcoming. The bed was comfortable, and all the place had everything I needed. There was a minor plumbing issue, and the hosts took care of it quickly. Their quick response was excellent. We were in town over the weekend for a family wedding. This was a fantastic apartment in a great location, lots of space and everything we needed. Great communication prior to our visit on how to obtain parking permits. There was an area guide to restaurants and attractions. The host provided a QR code for information about the house such as how to set the temperature. The place was very clean, and the beds were comfortable. The location was amazing. it was about a 20 minute walk to the capitol and a great veiw of the washington monument! There are two bedrooms and one bathroom, there wasnt a bath tub, the owners supplied shampo, conditioner, and body wash with refills which was neat! Great place, amazing for the price.

Lizzy, Bethany and the Home Sweet City Team were excellent hosts. They are very accessible and responsive. The home was as described. The neighborhood is idyllic. A nice walk to Eastern Market, lovely parks and a family feel. I rented a car and needed help applying for the visitor permit. Bethany was kind enough to help and sent me a copy of the permit. As noted in other reviews, you need the make and license plate of the car in order to get the permit. I wound up going to CVS to print it. I always found parking within a block of the home. They are upfront about upstairs noise. I was awoken at 8am by what sounded like the upstairs washer/dryer. I thought it was a reasonable time. Consider ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. The AC is loud, but it was like white noise for me. I liked that the apartment did not feel dark. You do have to go down stairs to enter. The only bugs I encountered were mosquitoes. I highly recommend this location!

This place is definitely safe and peaceful. It is also quite expensive, though. However, I booked at the last minute, and thankfully, they allowed me to stay in. Something to keep in mind is that the check-in is at 4 pm, and the check-out is at 10:30 am. The good thing is that if you need to check in early or stay longer, they are open to working with you based on availability. Overall, it is a good place to stay.

I was in DC for a work trip, and I had such a lovely stay in this home located in the historic DC neighborhood. I stayed in the same area last year for a work trip and knew I had to stay in this neighborhood again. It’s walking distance from a park and different restaurants and cafes - I highly recommend Wine and Butter Cafe! The home was beautiful and clean and had all the helpful amenities! I 100% recommend this location and would definitely stay here again!

Great location for our DC wedding weekend, located in a favorite part of DC for us. Can’t beat the location, and ample parking on the weekends and if need be paid parking was not a far walk away and was affordable (through spot hero). The apartment is neat, clean, tidy - kitchen, although small has everything you need for a DC holiday. Description made some mention of the owners living in the floor above, we heard no discernible noise during our weekend stay - so that was a non-issue.
The team who manages the Air BnB was very responsive and flexible (when we needed an earlier check in due to the wedding rehearsal timeframe). We really appreciated their hospitality and efficient manner in which they quickly got back to us with our questions. Would definitely rent here again.

The location and space were all great, and management very attentive. The only issue for us was the amount of noise from the upstairs apt. The description does say the sound carries both way and expect normal amount of noise.
I live in an apt building so I figure it was what I was used to. Maybe the amount of noise is normal if you are used to a townhouse. But we found it a problem. Lovely place as long as you are either used to that amount of noise, or don’t need to nap or go to bed early. We have a baby so are currently doing both.

We were so impressed by all the amenities offered and were so grateful to receive clear and simple check-in and check-out instructions. We stayed here after we moved out of our place on Capitol Hill. Location is great, very walkable for visitors, and very close to one of favorite little coffee shops. This apartment is clean, with comfy beds, a fabulous rain shower, and the host is very responsive. The spot isn’t noisy, and while we heard folks upstairs, the noise was typical city noise.

Cannot fault anything with/in apartment . Hosts super helpful. Do know tho it is a good walk to Capital building, be prepared! Always felt safe outside even at night. We were a little confused re car parking on the street, even tho we had a pass and found spaces nearby. Also know this area is a neighborhood, don’t expect to find groceries and restaurants close by. Would use again for sure!

This was a great little apartment that is located so close to everything you could want to do in DC! We enjoyed our stay here everything was comfortable and beautiful.
The single issue that we ran into had to do with getting a parking pass. We flew in and had to rent a car., which made it tricky to acquire the parking pass that we needed to park on the street of the neighborhood that this apartment is on. You have to get the pass through a website and print it off yourself after the resident approves the pass. So there is a time delay from when you apply for the possum when you get it. We came in late at night and so everything was closed and we had no place to print the pass. So, if you are driving in yourself, print the pass before you get into town. If you are renting a car, just make sure that you know to allow for the time for the pass to be approved.

Great place to stay if you want a neighborhood atmosphere away from the tourist crowds. Comfortable beds, modern bathroom with a spa-like "rainfall" shower, small but functional kitchen with all the necessary amenities (we did multiple loads of laundry because our clothes got very sweaty in the DC summer heat). Although this is a basement apartment, without much natural light, it didn't feel dark or stuffy. Being able to control the air-conditioning level was a huge plus!

We had a fantastic stay! The rooms were spacious with a well-equipped kitchen and bathroom, making our stay comfortable. The linens and towels were also very nice. The location was convenient, safe, and within walking distance of many attractions (park, coffee shop, Capitol, groceries, etc). The host maintained excellent communication throughout our stay. Minor notes: Some upstairs noise and mosquitoes as expected this time of year but neither of these were a problem. Overall, a delightful stay. Highly recommended!

Excellent location, walking distance to Metro, parks, and restaurants. Hosts very responsive. Easy to find & access, safe neighborhood and very private.
Two downsides, neither of which would stop me from booking this location again:
1) As mentioned in listing and other reviews, hosts live above this location and there is a fair amount of noise generated when they are walking back and forth. Not an issue during the day but light sleepers might have issues at night.
2) Check out time is quite early compared to other locations. I understand and appreciate their cleaning schedule but to me that is the difference between a 4 star rating and a 5 star rating.
Overall a very positive stay and I would definitely stay there again.

Perfect DC stay. Family of 5, quiet neighborhood, walked to the Supreme Court and other landmarks one day, but Ubered another day. Close enough to take a long walk, but easy enough to grab an Uber.
Street parking was safe and easy to download the pass. Great Italian Restaurant across the cute little park and a great cafe on the corner. Loved the architecture and whiteness of the neighborhood- clean and safe.
Overall this was a great basement apartment close to touristy things to do for a young family but enough distance to keep costs down.

This was a beautiful, pristine, immaculate, stylish apartment. It was perfect for our family of 5 (two adults, two teens and a tween), with two bedrooms and a sofa bed. The appliances were new and spotless, and included a dishwasher, washer and dryer - and they even included detergent. The location was also perfect, just a 10-15 minute walk from the U.S. Capitol through a beautiful residential neighborhood, and just a 15-20 minute uber from DCA. We will definitely stay here again, we can't wait to come back.

We just returned from a 4 night stay at this unit. Our family of four (2 adults and 2 eight year olds) found the unit to be perfectly clean and comfortable with all of the conveniences of home (washer dryer, etc). Location is great and the management company is very responsive. The only thing we would flag is that there is audible noise from the upstairs unit - my husband is a light sleeper and this woke him up a few times. Aside from this, a great choice for exploring DC!

This unit provided all the necessities for our family of 5 to stay for a week of exploring DC. Great beds, towels, bathroom, and exactly what you need in the kitchen. TV space was fine for the kids to catch a show or two before or after our days out - but mostly we all simply crashed after long days on our feet.
But really, you can’t beat the location of this property. We had beautiful spring walks to the Eastern Market area, which has great restaurants and bars to choose from, as well as shops and a Trader Joes. We walked to the capital in 22 min, and were frequent users of the Eastern Market Metro, which was a 13 min walk.

Loved the location, but many amenities we’re missing such as mirrors in bedrooms and linens that fit “hide a bed.” Unit was very clean. Could have used directions for washer, dryer and dishwasher, but I was very happy that they were available.

Great stay! This place had all of the things that we needed (toiletries, dish and laundry soaps, etc.). Great location — close to Eastern Market. We will definitely consider staying here again on our next visit.

We had a wonderful stay with Sweet City. They helped us with everything needed and were super communicative. The place is cozy, clean and sweet. The location is great! walking distance to the independence mall and a Metro station.
There were some noises from the neighbors but it was fine. We will absolutely would love to come again and recommend this place for everyone who visits Washington DC.

The apartment was very clean and cosy! The location was excellent and got our needs perfectly! Would definitely recommend this place for a short stay in DC.

Great neighborhood and location. The unit was clean and beds were comfortable. Our ONLY issue was the noise from the upstairs tenants. There was so much noise in the first bedroom it was difficult to sleep. The noise started early in the morning and again later in the evening. The back bedroom was less noisy. The kitchen had everything we needed.

This place was perfect for our needs. It was exactly as stated in the description. The icing on the cake was the location in Capitol Hill. The home was in close proximity to our many excursions to see the sights. I will definitely stay in return trips and will recommend to family and friends traveling to DC.

Zeer aangenaam verblijf voor 4 personen. Mooie, veilige buurt en goed gelegen . Bijna alles te voet bezocht, af en toe metro genomen. ( wij wandelen wel graag ).
Living en keuken voldoen ruimschoots , ook 2 ruime slaapkamers met raam / deur naar buiten (sous-terrain ligging). Geluidsisolatie met bovenliggend appartement is niet zo goed maar werd niet echt als heel storend ervaren.
Wij hebben hier een hele leuke tijd gehad !

The house is clean, well kept, and has necessary amenities to make one very comfortable. It's also centrally located making it easy for visitors to easily access different areas in town without difficulty.

The house was great!! The kitchen was well appointed and there was plenty of space for a pack n play for our baby. The location was perfect for us and with the parking pass, we always had easy parking nearby.
