Adorable neighborhood and very walkable. The home itself is so colorful and full of culture. Comfortable beds and linens, spotlessly clean and overall a comfortable environment perfect for any trip to DC. I will be recommending this place to everyone!

Great house! It’s clean, spacious and quiet. The home is filled with authentic oriental carpets which were a pleasure to see each day! The beds are very comfortable which is very important to us. Just steps away from the vibrant Adams Morgan neighborhood. One of the nicest and most comfortable AirBnBs we have stayed at recently.

Leafy, quiet neighborhood and very lovely home. Updated bathrooms and very comfortable. You dont want to have to deal with a car here though; parking is next to impossible and a car is a huge liability

Enjoyed our stay in Adams Morgan. If you are looking to stay in NW DC or near Adams Morgan, the Zoo, Rock creek park, etc then this is the perfect location. You are walking distance to coffee shops and restaurants as well as two playgrounds (our young kiddo loved this). But at the same time the residential street was extremely quiet for a city stay. Things to know: if you have older folks there are uneven steps to front door and its an older row house so steps to second floor with bedrooms could feel a little narrow/steep. Not an issue for us or most people, just an FYI. Also none of the bedroom windows have coverings that provide more than privacy so be prepared for lots of light in the mornings. While this is clearly an older rowhouse it was very clean, well maintained and renovated in a way that preserved lots of character while being very comfortable. Highly recommend.

Pretty, treelined central location near Adam’s Morgan shops. Comfortably spacious rooms. Bright dining area facing a private patio. Fairly well-appointed kitchen.
Dense setting among a row of attaches townhouses. You may hear the neighbor kids (very close) at 7 AM.

This is a beautiful, extremely spacious house in a gorgeous neighborhood that is very convenient to Georgetown, Rock Creek Park and other great parts of Northwest DC. It’s much roomier than one might picture from a row house — amazingly large. Really comfortable and there really are three actual separate bedrooms, as advertised. We highly recommend it and hope to stay there again.

Location was great, nearby good food and not far from museums and monuments. Property was well stocked and clean. Parking is rough throughout the day, would recommend rideshare/public transportation. Communication was good, but host included an paid ad in their check out. Cleaning fee was outrageous and required to clean out property before departing. Aside from the unsolicited advertising, parking, and high cleaning fee, the stay was comfortable and very convenient.

We stayed 4 night in this beautiful nicely decorated older townhouse which had updated kitchen and baths in a quiet residential part of DC (street parking is REALLY scarce). It was very spacious for 2 couples and it had nice amenities throughout. We enjoyed eating in the kitchen dining area, although we didn’t cook, they had all the accessories for take out dinners or quick little meals. The house is close to a lot of restaurants and there is a Safeway, CVS and a liquor store close by. Rock Creek Park with great hiking trails and the Smithsonian Zoo with the new giant Pandas just a couple blocks away. Use the Zoo’s pedestrian entrance gate to gain easy access to the park.
The photos pretty much matched the house with some minor signs of wear & tear when seen up close but the home was tidy and very clean. However we did notice several pantry moths upstairs. Overall though we really enjoyed our visit and would stay here again.

We had a great extended stay at 1812 Ontario Place NW after the birth of our first grandchild nearby. The house was comfortable and an excellent place to get work done while also close to many amenities, shopping, and restaurants. There are in fact three bedrooms, one with a twin bed (photos made us think it was on an upstairs landing rather than in its own room) and the bathroom that serves the two smaller bedrooms is excellent, with a skylight and deep bathtub.
The house relies primarily on radiator heat, which we loved, but it leaves the kitchen and dining area cold during colder weather – an additional heat source would help these spaces be more useful when it is cold.

My husband and I stayed here with our daughter and her thirteen month old child for six nights. We found the house to be very comfortable and charming. Its history seems preserved with modern additions – particularly the baths and kitchen. Shops and restaurants are in easy walking distance. The neighborhood is lively and fun to walk around. Just be aware if you come with a car that street parking is hardly available except on weekends. There is a nearby parking garage albeit a bit pricey.

We stayed here for a week and it was perfect. Great location that is walkable to restaurants, market and metro. The home was well appointed and had everything we needed. Having a laundry was very helpful for our stay. The beds were really comfortable and the place was very clean. Definitely recommend this home as a great base for a trip to DC. Thank you!

This place is spectacular. Lovely lovely home. Had a bit of trouble finding it, as I arrived after dark and no one on the street put their street number where you can see them at night.
That is the only negative to a brilliant stay.

This place was great! Perfect location in a safe neighbourhood. Everything we needed was within walkable distance (cafes, restaurants, shops, sightseeing). Communication from the host was brilliant and I had everything I needed well in advance.
The house itself is lovely. Very clean and well equipped. It’s very spacious. We were a group of five adults and it didn’t feel at all cramped. We were all very comfortable.
We all said we would stay here again next time we are visiting DC. Thank you very much to Home Sweet City for such a great stay.

Wonderful property, a great place to base our family DC trip. Excellent host and clear instructions and fast feedback to questions. Parking is challenging but that was communicated really well by the host and they provided thorough instructions and options. We highly recommend this property in the cool Adams Morgan area.

Les 2 stations de métro les plus proches sont à 10 minutes à pied.
L’accès à la maison est très facile.
L’hôte est toujours disponible , très réactif et courtois.
Un logement idéal pour visiter Washington DC et se relaxer dans un endroit calme et confortable.

Let me start by saying that everything about the house was perfect!! It was exactly what I wanted when I booked.
It’s beautiful. The coffee was amazing and I’ve even visited Lost Sock Roasters since our stay. We ended up not cooking because of an issue with the stove (found in the renters document) which was disappointing because I had planned on saving money by cooking breakfasts.
I’d also like to note that our trip coincided with Pride Weekend and that may have affected this-
I would hesitate to rent in Adams Morgan again because of the parking. While the description notes that parking is not included and helpful hints are given regarding finding parking, we still found it to be extremely difficult to find parking on the green sides of the streets and ended up paying a couple hundred dollars on Spot Hero to park.
I would have gladly paid more to use the garage on the property as my anxiety did not do well with hunting for parking in the middle of the night.

The location was excellent. It’s a quiet street, yet super close to the zoo and Rock Creek Park which we visited multiple times. The bedding and linens were very comfortable. The house was clean and stylish. We enjoyed the downstairs space for meals and playing games. The appliances are high end (although the stovetop pilot light is out and has to be lit manually). The host was responsive and accommodating to a couple of special requests. We’d definitely enjoy going back!

While the house was beautiful and big, unfortunately some of the points others have flagged in their reviews held true. You can hear the neighbors quite clearly/loudly (fighting, kids playing, violin practice). A guest from February had complained about old coffee roasted months prior, with the host replying “appreciate the heads up about the coffee,” yet we saw that same old bag of coffee (roasted nearly a year ago, open on the counter) when we arrived in May. When we asked for new coffee, the host said they would bring some by for us, but we were disappointed since we never received any over the course of our multi-day stay. These little things add up, especially at this nightly price point.

We had a great stay at Home Sweet City! The house was the perfect size and layout for our family with young kids. The location was perfect too. We could walk to so many great restaurants and activities for the whole family. We would definitely stay here again on a future trip to DC!

The house and location were as described – that is, wonderful. Comfy beds, super clean. Perhaps the property management company, Home Sweet City’s rapid growth (listing says 70, current AirBnB count is 96) accounts for the hiccups we encountered: wrong code for the lock box (correct code was supplied within 5 minutes, but it was raining and we were parked in a no-parking zone), no filters for coffee maker, and the locally roasted coffee displayed on the counter was roasted 8 months ago. All little things, but they added up to an “A minus” experience.

We booked here last minute for a work-related conference and it did not disappoint! The host was very responsive and flexible with our situation and was very kind. The house was beautiful with lots of character, and we both loved it very much. Thank you for an amazing stay! (P.s. the sheets and towels smelled amazing!) I would definitely recommend.

Definitely a historic treasure just as it says. This is an old house, but it was not musty or chemical-smelling and had enough screens to easily ventilate on a temperate day. Internet, heating (on cold days), plumbing all worked great. The only issue for some would be the stairs — a long flight from the street, and another to the bedrooms.
The oven is difficult and would probably not work for complicated baking, but we didn’t end up using it because there was so much to eat out. We did use the stove and electric kettle; stove takes getting used to but works.
Location: this place has that winning combination of a quiet side street few cars bother to drive on, while still being just around the corner from the main area of Adams-Morgan: full of restaurants, cafes with good hours, and people. It would have been nice to be slightly closer to the metro, but it was less than a mile and the DC circulator bus is close and frequent enough.

Amazing location and very quiet street – so close to everything but surprisingly secluded.
Beds comfortable, kitchen bright and clean, nice showers.
I do wish the owners included use of the empty operational garage especially since parking is such a challenge on the street. But the listing is clear and it’s up to them.

The home was very nice and well kept. It was maybe a 10-12 minute walk to the Metro station, and we walked it every day to head into downtown. The neighborhood was very quiet and I felt safe when walking around even at night. A CVS and grocery store was only a 5 minute walk, so that was definitely convenient. We had a small issue with one of the bedrooms initially, but the owner did accommodate us and they were very friendly as well. I can see myself staying at this location again in the future.

Such a beautiful home and a great location. Loved the roominess here. Sitting on the large front porch was so relaxing! And the private backyard with a table and chairs gave us another fun option for dining. The updated kitchen and bathrooms were just wonderful and we slept great in the comfortable beds with upscale linens. We felt right at home and at ease in this safe and tranquil neighborhood. We’ll definitely come again!

Beautiful home and lovely street. We had a wonderful time and joked we’d want to buy the house if we could! Only issue, not related to the property, was the cleaning fees and checkout. We were charged extra for a 12:30 pm check out, and we were asked to handle the trash and a few other things. Airbnb ought to come up with a better system here. I felt the price for the home was spot on, but the up-charges were frustrating.

I booked the house for my brother and his adult kids. Everyone was delighted by the property. It was comfortable and beautiful. My 27 year old nephew was delighted by the coffee maker with awesome bespoke coffee. We live in the neighborhood – it’s perfect for all ages – parks, coffee shops and restaurants. The house really is wonderfully decorated with a lovely patio. I hope to have family stay there again.

Definitely worth a try to stay here if you can, as its a nice old house with lots of features e.g., a front porch you can sit on and listen to the birds in the many mature trees around the property while watching neighbors pushing baby strollers, or walking dogs, on sidewalks below you, in a beautiful neighborhood—- or drinking a glass of wine in the back of the house next to the backyard, listening to a neighbor child practice violin—-or sitting in the first floor rooms comfortably outfitted with persian rugs and padded chairs and coffee table— it is paradoxically close in, and yet so far away, from the bustle of the City, and therefore worth experiencing

Wonderful home in a cozy neighborhood. Very close to bus stops and not too far to Metro stops. We took the circulator bus near the Safeway store at Ontario Rd and Columbia to the Woodley Park metro. The Safeway was open until 11 pm and we were able to pick up groceries and drinks for our stay. The kitchen is well appointed. We loved having our morning coffee or afternoon beer on the back patio enjoying the birds and the neighbor’s roses. We didn’t eat at any of the local restaurants near the AirBnB. We did try Open City for brunch and Lebanese Taverna for dinner which were both yummy. Both are by the Woodley Park Metro stop.

Great location – really close to businesses and gorgeous homes. The communication was too much and felt overwhelming with the amount of messages from host. Very rigid on check in times – asked if we could check in 10 minutes early and was told the code would not work until 4pm – the code was manual and not associated with any electronic system. Overall a good but short stay.

This was a great historic home and it is very spacious. We cooked breakfast everyday and had no issues with the stove. The house is centrally located but for a family with small kids, we couldn’t walk to the metro. Had to Uber instead. We did walk to the grocery store and to the restaurants in the area. Home Sweet City is extremely responsive and took care of the issues extremely quickly (even considering it was the holidays). In general a great place to stay!

The oven is a bit fiddly at first but once you’ve figured it out it works well.

This was wonderful stay for my family of four. The house was very clean and the neighborhood seemed very safe and family oriented. It was very close to shopping and dining. We had a really wonderful stay. Beautiful older home. Great decor, furniture. Very comfortable beds, lovely bathrooms. Really appreciated the olive oil, other basic condiments, and spices and basic staples in the well stocked kitchen. Outdoor front and back porches are great. Fabulous area. 13 minute walk to the Metro. Hosts were very responsive to our questions. Highly recommend and would stay here again if back in DC with a need for 3 bedrooms.

Positives:
Very responsive management. There was a problem with one of the toilets. They got a plumber in quickly. The toilet had to be replaced and this was done within 3 days. I was offered a small credit for the 3 affected days, which I appreciated.
Sunny, bright eating area in kitchen.
Spacious bedrooms.
Quiet street.
Issues:
no tissues or napkins provided.
High cleaning fee $300, but it is a big house to clean. They have you strip the sheets when you leave, which really should be done by cleaning crew.
Kitchen a little unevenly stocked–we had to buy salt for the house.
We thought the lighting was very dim, but it turns out there are very small dimmer switches which when used give perfectly good lighting.

We stayed 4 night in this beautiful nicely decorated older townhouse which had updated kitchen and baths in a quiet residential part of DC (street parking is REALLY scarce). It was very spacious for 2 couples and it had nice amenities throughout. We enjoyed eating in the kitchen dining area, although we didn't cook, they had all the accessories for take out dinners or quick little meals. The house is close to a lot of restaurants and there is a Safeway, CVS and a liquor store close by. Rock Creek Park with great hiking trails and the Smithsonian Zoo with the new giant Pandas just a couple blocks away. Use the Zoo's pedestrian entrance gate to gain easy access to the park.
The photos pretty much matched the house with some minor signs of wear & tear when seen up close but the home was tidy and very clean. However we did notice several pantry moths upstairs. Overall though we really enjoyed our visit and would stay here again.

The place is beautiful, full of art pieces. The location is great, next to a playground for the kids and cafes for the adults. Great communication and a team willing to help with all our needs. Would stay again.

We had a great extended stay at 1812 Ontario Place NW after the birth of our first grandchild nearby. The house was comfortable and an excellent place to get work done while also close to many amenities, shopping, and restaurants. There are in fact three bedrooms, one with a twin bed (photos made us think it was on an upstairs landing rather than in its own room) and the bathroom that serves the two smaller bedrooms is excellent, with a skylight and deep bathtub.
The house relies primarily on radiator heat, which we loved, but it leaves the kitchen and dining area cold during colder weather - an additional heat source would help these spaces be more useful when it is cold.

My husband and I stayed here with our daughter and her thirteen month old child for six nights. We found the house to be very comfortable and charming. Its history seems preserved with modern additions - particularly the baths and kitchen. Shops and restaurants are in easy walking distance. The neighborhood is lively and fun to walk around. Just be aware if you come with a car that street parking is hardly available except on weekends. There is a nearby parking garage albeit a bit pricey.

We stayed here for a week and it was perfect. Great location that is walkable to restaurants, market and metro. The home was well appointed and had everything we needed. Having a laundry was very helpful for our stay. The beds were really comfortable and the place was very clean. Definitely recommend this home as a great base for a trip to DC. Thank you!

This place is spectacular. Lovely lovely home. Had a bit of trouble finding it, as I arrived after dark and no one on the street put their street number where you can see them at night.
That is the only negative to a brilliant stay.

This place was great! Perfect location in a safe neighbourhood. Everything we needed was within walkable distance (cafes, restaurants, shops, sightseeing). Communication from the host was brilliant and I had everything I needed well in advance.
The house itself is lovely. Very clean and well equipped. It’s very spacious. We were a group of five adults and it didn’t feel at all cramped. We were all very comfortable.
We all said we would stay here again next time we are visiting DC. Thank you very much to Home Sweet City for such a great stay.

Wonderful property, a great place to base our family DC trip. Excellent host and clear instructions and fast feedback to questions. Parking is challenging but that was communicated really well by the host and they provided thorough instructions and options. We highly recommend this property in the cool Adams Morgan area.

Let me start by saying that everything about the house was perfect!! It was exactly what I wanted when I booked.
It's beautiful. The coffee was amazing and I've even visited Lost Sock Roasters since our stay. We ended up not cooking because of an issue with the stove (found in the renters document) which was disappointing because I had planned on saving money by cooking breakfasts.
I'd also like to note that our trip coincided with Pride Weekend and that may have affected this-
I would hesitate to rent in Adams Morgan again because of the parking. While the description notes that parking is not included and helpful hints are given regarding finding parking, we still found it to be extremely difficult to find parking on the green sides of the streets and ended up paying a couple hundred dollars on Spot Hero to park.
I would have gladly paid more to use the garage on the property as my anxiety did not do well with hunting for parking in the middle of the night.

The location was excellent. It's a quiet street, yet super close to the zoo and Rock Creek Park which we visited multiple times. The bedding and linens were very comfortable. The house was clean and stylish. We enjoyed the downstairs space for meals and playing games. The appliances are high end (although the stovetop pilot light is out and has to be lit manually). The host was responsive and accommodating to a couple of special requests. We'd definitely enjoy going back!

While the house was beautiful and big, unfortunately some of the points others have flagged in their reviews held true. You can hear the neighbors quite clearly/loudly (fighting, kids playing, violin practice). A guest from February had complained about old coffee roasted months prior, with the host replying “appreciate the heads up about the coffee,” yet we saw that same old bag of coffee (roasted nearly a year ago, open on the counter) when we arrived in May. When we asked for new coffee, the host said they would bring some by for us, but we were disappointed since we never received any over the course of our multi-day stay. These little things add up, especially at this nightly price point.

We had a great stay at Home Sweet City! The house was the perfect size and layout for our family with young kids. The location was perfect too. We could walk to so many great restaurants and activities for the whole family. We would definitely stay here again on a future trip to DC!

The house and location were as described - that is, wonderful. Comfy beds, super clean. Perhaps the property management company, Home Sweet City's rapid growth (listing says 70, current AirBnB count is 96) accounts for the hiccups we encountered: wrong code for the lock box (correct code was supplied within 5 minutes, but it was raining and we were parked in a no-parking zone), no filters for coffee maker, and the locally roasted coffee displayed on the counter was roasted 8 months ago. All little things, but they added up to an "A minus" experience.

We booked here last minute for a work-related conference and it did not disappoint! The host was very responsive and flexible with our situation and was very kind. Definitely a historic treasure just as it says. This is an old house, but it was not musty or chemical-smelling and had enough screens to easily ventilate on a temperate day. Internet, heating (on cold days), plumbing all worked great. The only issue for some would be the stairs -- a long flight from the street, and another to the bedrooms.
The oven is difficult and would probably not work for complicated baking, but we didn't end up using it because there was so much to eat out. We did use the stove and electric kettle; stove takes getting used to but works.
Location: this place has that winning combination of a quiet side street few cars bother to drive on, while still being just around the corner from the main area of Adams-Morgan: full of restaurants, cafes with good hours, and people. It would have been nice to be slightly closer to the metro, but it was less than a mile and the DC circulator bus is close and frequent enough.

Amazing location and very quiet street - so close to everything but surprisingly secluded.
Beds comfortable, kitchen bright and clean, nice showers.
I do wish the owners included use of the empty operational garage especially since parking is such a challenge on the street. But the listing is clear and it’s up to them.

The home was very nice and well kept. It was maybe a 10-12 minute walk to the Metro station, and we walked it every day to head into downtown. The neighborhood was very quiet and I felt safe when walking around even at night. A CVS and grocery store was only a 5 minute walk, so that was definitely convenient. We had a small issue with one of the bedrooms initially, but the owner did accommodate us and they were very friendly as well. I can see myself staying at this location again in the future.

Such a beautiful home and a great location. Loved the roominess here. Sitting on the large front porch was so relaxing! And the private backyard with a table and chairs gave us another fun option for dining. The updated kitchen and bathrooms were just wonderful and we slept great in the comfortable beds with upscale linens. We felt right at home and at ease in this safe and tranquil neighborhood. We’ll definitely come again!

Beautiful home and lovely street. We had a wonderful time and joked we’d want to buy the house if we could! Only issue, not related to the property, was the cleaning fees and checkout. We were charged extra for a 12:30 pm check out, and we were asked to handle the trash and a few other things. Airbnb ought to come up with a better system here. I felt the price for the home was spot on, but the up-charges were frustrating.

I booked the house for my brother and his adult kids. Everyone was delighted by the property. It was comfortable and beautiful. My 27 year old nephew was delighted by the coffee maker with awesome bespoke coffee. We live in the neighborhood - it's perfect for all ages - parks, coffee shops and restaurants. The house really is wonderfully decorated with a lovely patio. I hope to have family stay there again.

Definitely worth a try to stay here if you can, as its a nice old house with lots of features e.g., a front porch you can sit on and listen to the birds in the many mature trees around the property while watching neighbors pushing baby strollers, or walking dogs, on sidewalks below you, in a beautiful neighborhood---- or drinking a glass of wine in the back of the house next to the backyard, listening to a neighbor child practice violin----or sitting in the first floor rooms comfortably outfitted with persian rugs and padded chairs and coffee table--- it is paradoxically close in, and yet so far away, from the bustle of the City, and therefore worth experiencing

Wonderful home in a cozy neighborhood. Very close to bus stops and not too far to Metro stops. We took the circulator bus near the Safeway store at Ontario Rd and Columbia to the Woodley Park metro. The Safeway was open until 11 pm and we were able to pick up groceries and drinks for our stay. The kitchen is well appointed. We loved having our morning coffee or afternoon beer on the back patio enjoying the birds and the neighbor’s roses. We didn’t eat at any of the local restaurants near the AirBnB. We did try Open City for brunch and Lebanese Taverna for dinner which were both yummy. Both are by the Woodley Park Metro stop.

Great location - really close to businesses and gorgeous homes. The communication was too much and felt overwhelming with the amount of messages from host. Very rigid on check in times - asked if we could check in 10 minutes early and was told the code would not work until 4pm - the code was manual and not associated with any electronic system. Overall a good but short stay.

This was a great historic home and it is very spacious. We cooked breakfast everyday and had no issues with the stove. The house is centrally located but for a family with small kids, we couldn’t walk to the metro. Had to Uber instead. We did walk to the grocery store and to the restaurants in the area. Home Sweet City is extremely responsive and took care of the issues extremely quickly (even considering it was the holidays). In general a great place to stay!

This was wonderful stay for my family of four. The house was very clean and the neighborhood seemed very safe and family oriented. It was very close to shopping and dining. We had a really wonderful stay. Beautiful older home. Great decor, furniture. Very comfortable beds, lovely bathrooms. Really appreciated the olive oil, other basic condiments, and spices and basic staples in the well stocked kitchen. Outdoor front and back porches are great. Fabulous area. 13 minute walk to the Metro. Hosts were very responsive to our questions. Highly recommend and would stay here again if back in DC with a need for 3 bedrooms.

Positives:
Very responsive management. There was a problem with one of the toilets. They got a plumber in quickly. The toilet had to be replaced and this was done within 3 days. I was offered a small credit for the 3 affected days, which I appreciated.
Sunny, bright eating area in kitchen.
Spacious bedrooms.
Quiet street.
Issues:
no tissues or napkins provided.
High cleaning fee $300, but it is a big house to clean. They have you strip the sheets when you leave, which really should be done by cleaning crew.
Kitchen a little unevenly stocked--we had to buy salt for the house.
We thought the lighting was very dim, but it turns out there are very small dimmer switches which when used give perfectly good lighting.
