This was the perfect place for our family of four! Everything we needed was provided. The place was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. The host thought of every little detail down to foil and dryer sheets. We were in town to visit the museums and monuments. The subway was a short 5 minute walk away making touring so easy. At least once we figured out how to use the system. FYI you have to pay to get on and to exit and can not use one credit card to pay for everyone in your party. Host was very responsive and has a guide book with tips. Working on plans to come back for a girls trip next time.

Great location, very clean and comfortable! Our family of 5 enjoyed our stay. The location was awesome – just a 3 min walk to the Metro rail stop (just make certain that you walk to and from the correct entrance to the Metro at U Street & 10th Street, otherwise your walk will be longer). I also loved how this unit was located on a quiet street just a couple of blocks from a busy area.
We had no problem finding street parking, though we did have to move the vehicle one morning due to street cleaning so just be certain to look at the street signs.
The unit looks exactly like the pictures and everything was so clean. I appreciated the provided hand soaps, lotion, body wash, shampoo, conditioner and dish soap. There were plenty of towels. The kitchen was great and we could have easily cooked full meals there. Beds were comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at this property for good 4 nights to explore the city with 2 kids. The place is clean. We used the sofa to sleep on. Kids found it decent to sleep. Kitchen is stocked well. We cooked breakfast and some dinner. It had even some spices, oil, tea, coffee in the pantry. We used their big umbrella as it was rainy for few days. Communication with management was good. Location of the property was very convenient, close to metro. Whole Foods is so close. There are plenty of restaurants around. That beings said we had all we needed. I recommend this listing for stay. We will be back.

Don’t let “basement” location sway you! Does NOT feel like a basement. Brand new, clean & surprisingly comfortable enough for 4 people, but can accommodate 5 need be with sofa bed. GREAT location near downtown on a cool looking street of row houses. Parking permit included & was never an issue parking in front. We’ll definitely be back!

Our stay was wonderful! The place was clean and comfortable. The metro stop is close by, and there are lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. The neighborhood is nice and relatively quiet. Instructions for the apartment were clear and complete. I have no complaints- We had a great time!! Thank you!

Was a wonderful stay! Very clean and comfortable.
A few things that personal preference wise might not have been ideal was the beds- they were a little small for 2 people per bed and not the most comfortable, the other thing being the late night shenanigans- the neighborhood was lively at night. Many time we were woken up by people passing by, nothing crazy just could wake a light sleeper.
Over all a great place! And the parking included is an amazing feature!

Convenient location! Metro station/bus stop was one block away, there’s a Trader Joe’s 10min away, and overall felt very safe in the area. The apartment was very clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed to make a quick meal. Property manager was very easy to get a hold of and responded in a timely manner. I didn’t spend much time in the apartment, I was only there at night but it was a nice place to come back to after a long busy day.

We had a great Thanksgiving vacation at Home Sweet City. We walked to Whole Foods and bought groceries. Cooked a semi TGiving meal and ate there in the apartment. We enjoyed lots of DC activities and attractions and felt comfortable to spread out and enjoy the apartment when we wanted to relax. The host was quick to answer any questions we had and the apartment was very clean and pleasant.

Overall, we were very happy with our 4 week stay. The property is clean and well kept. The management company was responsive to our concerns. Note that the property is an old row house (recently renovated), but as such there is an issue of noise from the upstairs residents coming through the floorboards at times. Very responsive.

Our second time in DC and our first Airbnb in the city as well. So glad! So much better and more affordable than any hotel. My family of four had plenty of space to lounge and feel comfy. This was as an awesome place . To have on street permit parking was incredible. It was bit of a longer walk to convention center but Uber was very reasonable when we didn’t feel like walking.
Communication with host was incredible. I left earrings at the apartment which most easily could have “disappeared”. They were returned to me in a few days time. Kudos to Home Sweet City!

I had the pleasure of staying at this Airbnb, and it was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by how clean and well-maintained everything was. The host clearly put a lot of thought into every detail, ensuring the space was not only comfortable but also stylish and welcoming.
The location was ideal close to all the major attractions, yet in a peaceful neighborhood that allowed for a good night’s rest. The amenities provided were more than I expected, with everything I needed to feel right at home, including a fully equipped kitchen, fast Wi-Fi, and cozy bedding.
The host was incredibly responsive and accommodating, making the check-in and check-out process a breeze. They even provided some local tips that made my trip even more enjoyable.

We spent the week at this Airbnb while moving our daughter in for school. It’s in a pretty lively area, which was very appealing to us. We liked having restaurants, coffeeshops and bars nearby. If you’re looking for totally quiet, you shouldn’t be staying in the city.
Parking was our only real complaint. The place comes with parking, but it’s on the street and requires a temporary permit you need to print out and display on the dash. The process is a bit janky, but blame that on the city. The upside, it was never hard to find a spot in front of the place.
If you can avoid having a car in general in DC, I highly recommend it. Driving there is terrible. The good news is this location is a short walk to the great subway system. 14th street is just a couple blocks and there tons of restaurants, coffeeshops and even a Trader Joe’s.
We arrived late on a Sunday night and had a couple questions. Our host was super-quick to respond every time we messaged them.

On a passé un excellent séjour en famille dans ce logement. Il est situé près d’une station de métro se qui nous a permis de nous déplacer facilement dans Washington sans avoir à utiliser la voiture. Avec le permis de stationnement, nous avons pu stationner la voiture dans la rue devant l’immeuble pour la durée de notre séjour. Le logement est propre et la cuisine bien équipé.

However as already mentioned by owner too many mosquitos outside of entrance door which immediately gets in, since its outside house cannot fully blame the owner, additional pest control might help.

I just had a great stay with my two adult sons. The apartment was exactly as described. Plenty of room for the three of us. It was immaculate, had a well stocked kitchen, and the neighborhood was in a location where you could walk down to the National Mall in about 30 minutes or grab a great meal from many nearby restaurants. If we have to go back to DC in the future, we will definitely stay there again.

This listing was reasonably accurate in describing the state of the unit and the hosts were communicative and responsive. This district, perhaps it was coincidence, seemed to be a bit of a party district and I could hear people yelling or talking loudly until 3am several nights. I was also approached as I walked in the neighborhood several times for money. I think depending on what type of visit you are planning, if you’re looking for a vibrant night life there’s a lot nearby, but not the best location for families or business trips.

This is a lovely basement apartment, attractive, well-stocked (appreciated the coffee) though we didn’t cook there. (Appreciated the unscented bath products- sometimes those are terrible.) The apt was very clean and comfortable, beds were extremely comfortable. There is a certain amount of noise from the upstairs (classic city apt stuff – walking with high heels while getting ready for work, dog barking occasionally) but livable. Unfortunately, there was massive street construction – which of course, the owners have no control over, but we weren’t warned about ahead of time. It made having zoom calls a little bit of a challenge, and woke us up every morning. The people who run the apt are very responsive, and everything was very well run. The area is lovely, with lots of gardens, etc. and pretty walkable to nice places. I would definitely stay again — without the construction. It was a little pricey, but very well-done.

Great place and very peaceful! The apartment has everything you need. Very well furnished and comfortable beds. The apt. is very practical with just about everything you may need. Super clean too. Would highly recommend this place. If you are someone that likes very hot interiors perhaps bring an extra sweater or check in with the owner how to make the heating work (it has ac/ electric heaters and we could not bring the temp up). However definitely not critically cold I would say.
The owner also left a very useful guide to the neighborhood and was very responsive. Would highly recommend this place.

We had an amazing time staying at this place. It was exactly what we needed for our family trip to DC. The place was very clean and comfortable. I worked from the desk in the bedroom. The beds were comfortable-even the sofa bed! Each room had its own temperature controls which was really nice! The laundry worked great.The hosts were extremely responsive and checked in on us to make sure everything was ok. We printed parking permits and had no problem finding spots. There are bus stops very close to the apt that take you to the national mall, which was very convenient. We liked that we could easily walk to restaurants and coffee shops. Thanks for everything!

It looks the same as it shown in the pictures. The rooms are neat and tidy. We only heard the noise from upstairs once in the morning. Other time it was very quiet. One thing to notice is that it is semi basement as you need to walk down a few steps, which I didn’t expect. But we didn’t have any problems about this. Overall it was a good experience!

We had a great stay . The only downside was the people upstairss u can hear ever step they take . Granted we were so tired by bed time we knocked right out but my father had a little trouble . The place was clean and pretty the building was beautiful itself . The neighborhood is safe nice and historical. Just around the corner u will come into the cultural night life we had a blast and everyone was nice. I would stay here again if I was in DC .

The place was, perfect for a weekend getaway. It’s in a beautiful, well kept neighborhood that’s quite & within walking distance of many good restaurants.
We had a party of 5 adults. It’s a cute 2 bedroom basement apartment w/plenty of light. The pull out sofa bed was comfortable. They supplied all linens and towels. Overall it was a great experience and I would rent the space again

This place is the dream of every traveler. You arrive weary and tired and walk into a cozy, absolutely clean, perfect place to nest for the vacation. I have three kids, and it usually takes time to find where everyone will sleep and how we are going to “make this work”, but not so here. There was plenty of space – my son chose to put his travel bed in the walk in closet rather than sleep on the pull out couch offered, but there was so much room to do all kinds of things. We all slept SO WELL – unheard of in a new place. It was so quiet, the bedding was so cozy, and the temperature was just a bit cold – made for a well-rested family. After exploring DC all day, we came home every night and cooked easy dinners and watched “National Treasure 2” and “Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian” to get ready for the next day’s sights. I can’t recommend this place enough. It very walk-able to the white house. We took the metro once, but enjoyed the playgrounds and bakeries on the way!

The English basement of this DC row house was exactly as described. It was the perfect size and had everything that our family of three needed for our week in the city. The fact that you can walk to the Metro station in three minutes was amazing and we took advantage almost every day. The hosts were the best communicators and gave us all the information we needed for our stay, plus responded to all questions very quickly.
Our phone GPS directed us to the back of the house, which was confusing upon arrival. We were able to find street parking close to the house – just needed to remember to move the car on street cleaning day.
Many stores and restaurants were within walking distance. Keep in mind this is a big city and not everything will make everyone comfortable at all times. But overall the neighborhood was safe and ended up being a great location for our stay.

We stayed at this property for good 4 nights to explore the city with 2 kids. The place is clean. We used the sofa to sleep on. Kids found it decent to sleep. Kitchen is stocked well. We cooked breakfast and some dinner. It had even some spices, oil, tea, coffee in the pantry. We used their big umbrella as it was rainy for few days. Communication with management was good. Location of the property was very convenient, close to metro. Whole Foods is so close. There are plenty of restaurants around. That beings said we had all we needed. I recommend this listing for stay. We will be back.

Don’t let “basement” location sway you! Does NOT feel like a basement. Brand new, clean & surprisingly comfortable enough for 4 people, but can accommodate 5 need be with sofa bed. GREAT location near downtown on a cool looking street of row houses. Parking permit included & was never an issue parking in front. We’ll definitely be back!

Our stay was wonderful! The place was clean and comfortable. The metro stop is close by, and there are lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. The neighborhood is nice and relatively quiet. Instructions for the apartment were clear and complete. I have no complaints- We had a great time!! Thank you!

Was a wonderful stay! Very clean and comfortable.
A few things that personal preference wise might not have been ideal was the beds- they were a little small for 2 people per bed and not the most comfortable, the other thing being the late night shenanigans- the neighborhood was lively at night. Many time we were woken up by people passing by, nothing crazy just could wake a light sleeper.
Over all a great place! And the parking included is an amazing feature!

Convenient location! Metro station/bus stop was one block away, there’s a Trader Joe’s 10min away, and overall felt very safe in the area. The apartment was very clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed to make a quick meal. Property manager was very easy to get a hold of and responded in a timely manner. I didn’t spend much time in the apartment, I was only there at night but it was a nice place to come back to after a long busy day.

We had a great Thanksgiving vacation at Home Sweet City. We walked to Whole Foods and bought groceries. Cooked a semi TGiving meal and ate there in the apartment. We enjoyed lots of DC activities and attractions and felt comfortable to spread out and enjoy the apartment when we wanted to relax. The host was quick to answer any questions we had and the apartment was very clean and pleasant.

Overall, we were very happy with our 4 week stay. The property is clean and well kept. The management company was responsive to our concerns. Note that the property is an old row house (recently renovated), but as such there is an issue of noise from the upstairs residents coming through the floorboards at times. Very responsive.

This was as an awesome place . To have on street permit parking was incredible. It was bit of a longer walk to convention center but Uber was very reasonable when we didn’t feel like walking.
Communication with host was incredible. I left earrings at the apartment which most easily could have “disappeared”. They were returned to me in a few days time. Kudos to Home Sweet City!

We spent the week at this Airbnb while moving our daughter in for school. It's in a pretty lively area, which was very appealing to us. We liked having restaurants, coffeeshops and bars nearby. If you're looking for totally quiet, you shouldn't be staying in the city.
Parking was our only real complaint. The place comes with parking, but it's on the street and requires a temporary permit you need to print out and display on the dash. The process is a bit janky, but blame that on the city. The upside, it was never hard to find a spot in front of the place.
If you can avoid having a car in general in DC, I highly recommend it. Driving there is terrible. The good news is this location is a short walk to the great subway system. 14th street is just a couple blocks and there tons of restaurants, coffeeshops and even a Trader Joe's.
We arrived late on a Sunday night and had a couple questions. Our host was super-quick to respond every time we messaged them.

I just had a great stay with my two adult sons. The apartment was exactly as described. Plenty of room for the three of us. It was immaculate, had a well stocked kitchen, and the neighborhood was in a location where you could walk down to the National Mall in about 30 minutes or grab a great meal from many nearby restaurants. If we have to go back to DC in the future, we will definitely stay there again.

This listing was reasonably accurate in describing the state of the unit and the hosts were communicative and responsive. This district, perhaps it was coincidence, seemed to be a bit of a party district and I could hear people yelling or talking loudly until 3am several nights. I was also approached as I walked in the neighborhood several times for money. I think depending on what type of visit you are planning, if you’re looking for a vibrant night life there’s a lot nearby, but not the best location for families or business trips.

This is a lovely basement apartment, attractive, well-stocked (appreciated the coffee) though we didn't cook there. (Appreciated the unscented bath products- sometimes those are terrible.) The apt was very clean and comfortable, beds were extremely comfortable. There is a certain amount of noise from the upstairs (classic city apt stuff - walking with high heels while getting ready for work, dog barking occasionally) but livable. Unfortunately, there was massive street construction - which of course, the owners have no control over, but we weren't warned about ahead of time. It made having zoom calls a little bit of a challenge, and woke us up every morning. The people who run the apt are very responsive, and everything was very well run. The area is lovely, with lots of gardens, etc. and pretty walkable to nice places. I would definitely stay again -- without the construction. It was a little pricey, but very well-done.

Great place and very peaceful! The apartment has everything you need. Very well furnished and comfortable beds. The apt. is very practical with just about everything you may need. Super clean too. Would highly recommend this place. If you are someone that likes very hot interiors perhaps bring an extra sweater or check in with the owner how to make the heating work (it has ac/ electric heaters and we could not bring the temp up). However definitely not critically cold I would say.
The owner also left a very useful guide to the neighborhood and was very responsive. Would highly recommend this place.

We had an amazing time staying at this place. It was exactly what we needed for our family trip to DC. The place was very clean and comfortable. I worked from the desk in the bedroom. The beds were comfortable-even the sofa bed! Each room had its own temperature controls which was really nice! The laundry worked great.The hosts were extremely responsive and checked in on us to make sure everything was ok. We printed parking permits and had no problem finding spots. There are bus stops very close to the apt that take you to the national mall, which was very convenient. We liked that we could easily walk to restaurants and coffee shops. Thanks for everything!

It looks the same as it shown in the pictures. The rooms are neat and tidy. We only heard the noise from upstairs once in the morning. Other time it was very quiet. One thing to notice is that it is semi basement as you need to walk down a few steps, which I didn’t expect. But we didn’t have any problems about this. Overall it was a good experience!

This place is the dream of every traveler. You arrive weary and tired and walk into a cozy, absolutely clean, perfect place to nest for the vacation. I have three kids, and it usually takes time to find where everyone will sleep and how we are going to "make this work", but not so here. There was plenty of space - my son chose to put his travel bed in the walk in closet rather than sleep on the pull out couch offered, but there was so much room to do all kinds of things. We all slept SO WELL - unheard of in a new place. It was so quiet, the bedding was so cozy, and the temperature was just a bit cold - made for a well-rested family. After exploring DC all day, we came home every night and cooked easy dinners and watched "National Treasure 2" and "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian" to get ready for the next day's sights. I can't recommend this place enough. It very walk-able to the white house. We took the metro once, but enjoyed the playgrounds and bakeries on the way!

The English basement of this DC row house was exactly as described. It was the perfect size and had everything that our family of three needed for our week in the city. The fact that you can walk to the Metro station in three minutes was amazing and we took advantage almost every day. The hosts were the best communicators and gave us all the information we needed for our stay, plus responded to all questions very quickly.
Our phone GPS directed us to the back of the house, which was confusing upon arrival. We were able to find street parking close to the house - just needed to remember to move the car on street cleaning day.
Many stores and restaurants were within walking distance. Keep in mind this is a big city and not everything will make everyone comfortable at all times. But overall the neighborhood was safe and ended up being a great location for our stay.

Just be aware that the unit is the lower basement unit, not the top one that is pictured here. Probably on me to read the description more carefully but I went off of pictures of the exterior!

Great location super close to the Metro. We parked our car on the street for free for the week and easily navigated all throughout the city using the subway. Restaurants and grocery stores within walking distance. Used the kitchen and laundry to help save money on our trip. There was a dog upstairs we could hear clicking around while he walked, but it was not a problem. We rarely heard any barking. Great week and good communication! Happy we stayed here.

A great place and amazing location. Some great restaurants and bars near by but the neighborhood itself was quiet and we felt very safe. A few blocks from the Metro which cut down on cost and was a direct shot to all of the common tourist destinations. Bedrooms lovely and beds were quite comfy. Bathroom a little tight for 4 but was sufficient for a long weekend. Our host was absolutely amazing and very receptive to all of our concerns.

In general, the stay was as expected. The parking pass request is not user-friendly and not designed with guests in mind. The 9-5 host availability is not helpful when the earliest check-in is 4pm. The emergency line only deals with limited issues, and the parking permit was not one of them.

This is the perfect AirBnB for a family of 4 or for 2 couples. The bedrooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. We slept in the back bedroom and it was very quiet. Our daughter slept in the front bedroom and although you can hear a bit of street noise, she did not have any trouble sleeping.
You can’t beat the location! It is around the corner from a green and yellow line Metro. You can easily walk to numerous restaurants and grocery stores.
The host provides a guest parking pass for street parking which is a huge perk! We never had trouble finding a spot along the street to park. Parking is very expensive in DC and most hotels charge $50 a night for parking, so having free street parking at this AirBnB is really great.
If available, we will stay at this AirBnB every time we visit our daughter. It’s that great!

The location was perfect and the street parking was a little scarce but not terrible given that we were in DC. The only drawback was the hot water only lasted for 20 minutes before it got pretty cold, so when all 4 of us needed to shower in the morning it was a little uncomfortable. The beds were super comfy and all the appliances were nice though.

We were a party of 2 staying for a week-long business trip and the apartment was perfect. Close to train stations, buses, and easy for Uber/Lyft, the neighborhood has great food, lots of coffee. We appreciated the way the hosts checked in and they were quick to respond. Would definitely stay here again.

We were very satisfied with this apartment. Comfortable, quiet and spotless. Fully stocked kitchen with up-to-date appliances. Simple checking-in. Hosts were very responsive. We took advantage of the easy-to-obtain parking permit and were pleased to find that parking was ample (during the day, during the week). Great location with Whole Foods, Trader Joes and Amazon Fresh nearby. We especially enjoyed walking through the leafy neighborhood streets and seeing the beautiful row houses with their front gardens. This was a great place to stay. It looked exactly like the pictures and was easy to get to.
It is in a very good location. It was close to all the exhibits we wanted to see.

Exactly as described, if not better! The apartment is exactly what you are looking for when visiting DC. It is extremely close to everything. We ended up walking to the Mall, Museums, and Monuments because everything was so close. You are also a block away from a Metro Stop that is very convenient to use as well. Near the AirBnb are so many amazing places to eat and drink. Again, overall amazing place!

We really enjoyed our stay and we would definitely recommend this apartment owned by Home Sweet City. The description is accurate, the apartment is in a very convenient location and the place was clean and well equipped. We appreciated the easiness of communication and the check in process was very smooth. The parking pass is free - a big plus! And the subway is just a 3-minute walk away.

Very clean apartment. 1 block from the U Metro Stop. Had everything I needed. As others mentioned, there is some noise from the apartment above - late at night and early in the morning.
