This was such a wonderful area to stay in and we loved Home Sweet City’s special touches like their personalized coffee to use in the french press. The beds were comfortable and we had quiet, restful sleep. There were plenty of kitchen tools to be able to eat in and save some money while traveling. We would definitely work with this company again!

Positive: Great place near our daughters apartment. Well equipped kitchen with coffee pods, sugar and cream. Don’t miss the nearby farmers market on Sunday or the Big Bear cafe for breakfast lunch or dinner. Negative: Since its a basement unit, there is a dehumidifier. Its a bit loud if anyone is sleeping on the couch, but its easy to turn off for the night and restart in the morning

Amazing stay! Very quiet neighborhood, but just a short walk away from the metro to get to everything in DC. Unit was incredibly clean, and hosts were very responsive. 10/10 would stay again!

We really enjoyed our time here. It’s very easy to access the major sites by car or Metro. The space was really clean and the neighborhood and the apartment are VERY quiet. On street parking was always available within feet of the front door, you just need a permit displayed. Be sure to get the link and do this process in advance if possible (though it’s super easy and quick). The couch turns into a really nice full/queen sized bed so there was plenty of sleeping space for our party of four. It was just roomy enough to never feel crowded. The Red Hen restaurant is around the corner and highly recommend. Also lots of good coffee shops. Would definitely stay here again!

The apartment was beautiful – welcoming and clean. The neighborhood was quiet and friendly, but all of our activities were within 2 miles radius. The free street parking was amazing given how difficult it is in the city. The hosts were helpful and left great details about the stay. I’m extremely pleased that I chose this rental for my time in DC!

We had a great stay! Very clean and had everything we needed. The only thing was most restaurants and other things were about half a mile either way. The metro stations were also a bit of a walk after a long day but totally bearable. I would definitely recommend and stay again!

This was a very convenient and homey place to visit DC with my husband and teen boys. We walked to the metro to visit the National Mall and Smithsonians so that we didnt have to find parking or drive downtown. It was less than a mile walk and a quick trip on the metro. The description is exactly what it is and the apartment had everything we needed. The bedroom also had a tv, which was nice to relax and watch tv before going to sleep. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The pull out couch wasn’t as comfy, but my kids slept fine and had no complaints. The host was responsive and helpful. I forgot to print my parking pass and they instantly responded with various places I could get it printed.

Perfect basement apartment on a very beautiful street. Close to everything, restaurants, stores, and fantastic location to explore Washington DC. I really enjoyed my stay in this cozy apartment. I did have an issue with a broken shower head, which I did bring to the attention of the AirBnb. They rectified the problem in a timely manner. The handyman was extremely polite and thorough. I have absolutely no complaints. I would definitely rent this unit again, if I happen to be in the area. Thank you for the accommodations. Perfect.

The apartment exceeded all our expectations! We felt at home from the very first moment – everything was thoughtfully arranged down to the smallest details, from the cozy interior to all the essentials in the kitchen and bathroom. It was very clean, comfortable, and convenient. You can tell the hosts put a lot of heart into it. We would gladly come back and definitely recommend this place to others!

Overall place is really well-managed. Two quick negatives — owner refused to provide an extra key so we had to share a key for the entire stay — a constant petty annoyance. Extra keys are not expensive — if worried about lost keys they should just put a keypad. Second was the 10:00am check out time which is the hallmark of the cheapest of cheap hotels. But — you will be hard-pressed to find a more well-stocked rental — which was really appreciated. All of the basic kitchen necessities were there (salt, pepper, oil) plus some added spices. It had laundry and dishwasher detergent and very well-stocked overall with paper products, dishes and even storage containers for leftovers. Place was very clean and well-decorated. Basement apartment so kind of dark. Have been to DC dozens of times and never stayed near here — which is a little far from any subway. However, there are two great bus lines and enough really nice close restaurants that it was fun to learn a new area. Thumbs up!

Great little place, only thing I would like to fix is the sofa bed in the living room. If you are with more than 3 people then it might be tough.

Great location and very spacious! I personally had a hard time locating the unit and understanding that it was the bottom unit. Then, I didn’t understand which doors were locked. It may have been my own ignorance but the check-in took about 30 minutes of us trying to figure out which unit it was and then how to get it. The unit was clean and had amazing amenities. I think it may be a little dusty because we had some allergies while staying there. But overall, would stay there again 🙂

This was a great place to stay! My college friends and I came to DC for a road trip and stayed for 3 days. It was located near metro stops and in a great area!

This was the perfect spot for our weekend getaway! The space was clean, comfy and felt secure. The hosts were very responsive and we appreciated all the little touches like the lollipops. It’s about a 20min walk to the closest metro station but the area was safe and we felt comfortable doing the walk at night! 10/10 would recommend:)

This property uses a management team and they were wonderful and responsive! There was a terrible musty/moldy odor immediately noticable and despite efforts to find the issue we had to deal with that the entire stay. I’m guessing there is a leak or an old musty mop somewhere but it was disgusting. Management team brought air fresheners and a dehumidifier but it did not help. The bed is outrageously comfortable and the bedroom dark and comfy. I read in other reviews about noise but we didn’t have ANY issue with that. The linens and towels were plush and every needed amenity was available. Be forewarned about parking. Pay attention to which side of the street you are parked your vehicle? It needs to be moved to the opposite side on Wednesday or Thursday depending on the side of the street you are on. There info on the check ininfo but we misunderstood the instructions and thought we were okay. We got a $45 ticket. A notice on the fridge would have been a good reminder for people like us.

There was a beeping sound every 20 seconds in a locked closet that appeared to be a battery wearing down on a smoke detector. It went throughout the night. I reported it all three days/nights and contacted manager and Airbnb at least 7 or 8 times trying to resolve the problem. It was never solved and my request for a refund was met with an $84 refund on a bill of $698. Poor responsiveness to a problem

Overall, great experience and the parking process with getting permits was super simple.

It’s a very clean, comfortable apartment and very complete. It is well taken care of and the street has very cute houses. They provide a lot of information and everything is very easy. Since the apartment is in a basement it does not receive a lot of sunlight, which was not a problem for me because I was there only at night and it is very well illuminated. I highly recommend it!

Great location close to national mall and downtown. Very comfortable to stay. Great communications from host team. If you fly to DC on a late flight and need to get a car rental after landing, I suggest you have a plan to get the parking permit printed.

Our stay was very comfortable and we had everything we needed for a comfortable home away from home stay. Very nice neighborhood with very little noise which was very surprising to us minus some sirens here and there that we expected being in the city. Although we brought all of our personal items, having laundry pods available made it easy for us to keep all of our things clean before leaving. We dreaded the walk to the metro each day but it was honestly not bad as soon as we learned how to navigate the area. Would definitely stay here again.

The apartment was very clean and as described. Renters should know it is a lower-level apartment with small windows high on the wall, but I still found the apartment appealing. The neighborhood is excellent, with nice restaurants. The only thing I couldn’t find within walking distance was a grocery store. Communication with the hosts was always helpful and accommodating.

This was my second stay within two months. Wonderful home in a very friendly and walkable neighborhood. Love the coffee shops and restaurants nearby too. We have stayed in the area to visit family, work remotely and take in DC. Hope to stay again on our next trip.

The apartment and the neighborhood were charming. The sofa bed worked well and the place was comfortble for 3 people. The bathroom had a generous supply of soap, shampoo etc. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies for cooking. A bonus was the Keurig coffee machine with coffees and teas as well as bar supplies. Will definitlety book again next time we’re in DC.

Great find in my immediate neighborhood and perfect for my parents when they come for a visit. Both found it exactly what they were looking for and I think I’ve made them converts to airbnb from hotels.

The location was great!!! Super walkable for local restaurants or mini marts. The place was clean, and there were spares available of everything. The owners were very proactive and helpful with the parking permits. Communication was great and always in a timely manner. Highly recommend 👌

Had a great stay. It was our first time in DC and we really enjoyed the location. We were able to see all the sites we wanted to using the metro. There is free street parking with a permit, which saves you money (since most hotels in the area charge for parking). Would stay again!

This was a nice little place for a short stay for adults. All the amenities are there for simple meals, bathing and sleeping. There is a nice bakery and restaurant nearby for convenience. This is located out of the downtown area so it was quiet. There are bus stops on the main streets, but a car is probably needed to get around, be it a rental or Uber. Parking wasn’t a problem, but, the parking website is difficult to use. It was a nice place for us to stay on our visit to Washington DC.
