a very pretty attic apartment. with yummy coffee and pleasant lighting. quiet and enjoyable.

Positive: L’appartement était conforme aux photos présente sur Booking. Il était confortable avec un espace correct et un bel aménagement. Il était proche du bus qui pouvait nous envoyer au centre-ville. Il y avait déjà le nécessaire pour pouvoir faire la cuisine (huile beurre sel poivre et même du chocolat au poudre pour le petit déjeuner) et même des produits pour la lessive. L’hôte répondait rapidement à nos préoccupations. Negative: Le ménage a été facturé mais n’a pas été fait pendantqu’on y etait.. La climatisation met un peu de temps pour rafraîchir l’appartement. Cela nous obligeait des fois à laisser la clim tout le temps allumée (pendant les périodes de forte chaleur). Il fallait prendre les escaliers depuis l’extérieur pour accéder à l’appartement (L’accès peut être un peu difficile si vous avez beaucoup de valises et peur des hauteurs) .

The location was perfect,short Uber ride to all the DC monuments. Lots of walkable areas such coffee shops and restaurants close to the Airbnb. Cozy spot for a few days. Easy enough to grab a Lyft to get to museums. 15 or so minute walk to a few cute shops, restaurants, and grocery store.

My Valentine stay here was beautiful and relaxing! Just what we were looking for. Looked just like the photos, everything was clean- spotless. Getting up the stairs is a little rocky but when you’re finally inside.. you forget all about it; you feel right at home! I definitely recommend, it’s cozy and refreshing! Beautiful inside and out 🙂

C’est vraiment ce dont j’avais besoin, entrée privée, aire de jeux pour les enfants, espace bureau pour le travail bien que l’espace salon et cuisine soit un peu étroit et l’escalier extérieur pour accéder nécessitait beaucoup de prudence, nous avons passé des très bons moments et n’hésiterons pas à revenir.

The unit was very clean and nicely furnished and the kitchen was well stocked. The owner was very helpful with parking permit. It did get a bit hot in unit.

It’s a beautiful location and apartment. However most appliances are half working. Refrigerator has ice maker that doesn’t work,dishwasher needs a hard push on the door to start and its difficult to know that unless texting a host.Washing machine left grey spots on my white kids clothes. no drinking water available besides a tiny filter pitcher,refrigerator made phone like noises when tried to make ice but no ice were produced.The steep stairs is a challenge with 2 small kids and a bunch of luggage. Insects in the bathroom are casually there all the time.The tv wasn’t available because it required to log in to some other’s account.The ac didn’t do good on cooling plus it’s very noisy.The requirements of throwing away the trash is a huge problem as it’s very difficult to locate the bins, and hard to do with kids.I left the place clean, the company tried to blame me in some hole in the wall by sending me picture not from the property I stayed at,eventually they apologized for the mistake

In addition to this being a fabulous place to stay within minutes of all that the Smithsonian and our Capital has to offer in Washington D.C. it was Very close to miles of beautiful trails to walk, run, or bike, and withing 7 minutes of the Smithsonian National Zoo (–which was an incredible experience itself!). Also, the owners of this beautiful home were fabulous people that made us feel welcome from the start and gave great recommendations of what to do, where to park (when downtown), and what not to miss. . . the home was Great, with lots of light, and the people were too. We look forward to our next opportunity to visit!

The air was not getting cool because of the heat. With two small window units and fans it was still hot. Had to close the bedroom door in order to have a cool place in the house.

Terrific property, exactly as advertised! Gracious host who made sure we had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you, we loved it!

Great clean place close to the city!

This was a fairly solid rental but some odd rules that are fairly strictly communicated in conjunction with a relatively steep price mean I wound up feeling as though I was staying in a hotel, not so much a home, and it was a bit stressful at times in that regard. The location is not ideal, a very long way away from the nearest metro connection, and at the same time awkwardly far from anything else (park/cafe etc.). Overall, fine.

We had a great experience staying here. There’s easy access to public transit and the home is well stocked with essentials. The place was clean and looked just like the pictures. We did have to communicate with them about some issues with their appliances, but they responded in a timely manner. Additionally, there was an issue of inconsistency between the check out listed on Airbnb site and their instructions, but they were accommodating and professional when clarifying. All in all I would stay here again.

Eine sehr gemütlich eingerichtete Wohnung..sehr gut ausgestattete Küche, sogar mit Zutaten, die fürs Kochen/Essen hilfreich waren, ebenso das Bad mit shampoo etc..Da wir tatsächlich dort gerne gefrühstückt und gekocht haben, wäre ein größerer Essenstisch ganz schön. Sonst waren wir rundherum sehr zufrieden und können sie unbedingt weiter empfehlen.

We were in DC for a family gathering in the neighborhood, so the location was perfect. We were very pleased with Cabin in the Clouds: it was exactly as depicted in the info and photos, and very comfortable. We plan to stay here again when our travels next bring us to town. The hosts were fabulous.

Very comfortable space that is close to some good restaurants and a reliable bus route. We walked from the apartment to Rock Creek park and then to the Zoo, which was a lovely afternoon, and it was great to come back to this nice home and relax afterwards. Thanks for hosting us!

As others have mentioned, the stairs leading to the front entrance are a bit tough to navigate with a suitcase. When these metal stairs become wet, as was the case for me, you really have to be careful going up and down. The apartment itself is bright and cheery! It is quite comfortable with a fully functional kitchen, marble bathroom and a wonderful bed mattress for a good night’s sleep. In addition the apartment is spacious for a party of two. There are a number of restaurants within a six minute walk of the apartment that also make it a good location. I would recommend this apartment to someone wanting privacy and quiet after spending a full day exploring DC. Enjoy!

This was a great spot for moving our daughter into her apartment in Adams Morgan. Easily accessible, comfortable, clean and quiet. Our daughter used the pull out couch and it was comfortable. Be aware that the off-street parking spot listed in the reservation may not be available – it wasn’t for our stay. However we never had a problem finding street parking in the same block (January). Definitely recommend!

I would definitely recommend this home. The home was very nice and comfortable, especially for a longer stay. The windows make it much nicer than other basement units in the dc area that have no windows. The host had the basic necessities you need so you won’t need to worry about any of those. This is noted before booking and many people have stated it but the steps to get up to the home are a little steep especially if you have heavy suitcases. My only comment would be that if you are staying during the winter months the radiator heaters only heat the home to what felt like 68-70 degrees. (There’s no thermostats to tell for sure). So you may want to bring sweaters and sweatshirts for relaxing in the home if you prefer it to be warmer.

I have not been to D.C. in over 25 years & this Airbnb was in the perfect neighborhood & location! Loved the historical feel of this unit, but wasn’t quit use to the radiator-heated feature. HSC was very responsive providing us with awesome space heaters. Kitchen was well-equipped with all the necessary kitchenware, dishes, glassware, & utensils. The water pressure was great, but water temperature not hot enough… I suspect that was for safety purposes since it is lodging for children, etc. Overall the private entry was great, but like many other reviews the steep outdoor stairwell access to the unit was rather terrifying to navigate, especially when “wet”. Thanks HSC for a great stay!!

This is a great Airbnb overseen by an annoying management company. For example: They insist you take the trash out—despite the fact that guests pay a cleaning fee—but you then have to find the location of the bins because it is inaccurately described in their stock messages. Communication: Lots of unnecessary, “fake nice” form emails. “Is there anything we can do to make your stay better?” they ask. If you reply that a fairly standard check-out time of 12pm would be helpful, they’ll say sure – but cough up $60. You get the picture. Again, this is a great space being run by a crummy management company. While I think this is a convenient and comfortable Airbnb for a weekend in DC, I wouldn’t recommend Home Sweet City. I would recommend avoiding Home Sweet City, in fact.

This was my second stay in one of Home Sweet City’s places and I loved it. The home is clean, in a good location with a lot of free parking 24/7(this is a luxury) in this area. I traveled alone and felt comfortable coming and going at any hour alone. Checkin in was easy and Michelle is very responsive she checked in daily to ensure things were going well. An issue came up with one of the appliances and she made arrangements to send someone over the same day. I declined because it was a small issue that didn’t inconvenience me. Another great stay. Whenever I come DC Home Sweet City will be one of my preferred locations to stay in.

Everything was perfect — just a tad bit tough hauling 4 luggages through steep stairs! 😅 Although overall our stay was excellent and seemed perfect for a family of three.

Walkable to bus stops, but not Metro train stations. Use the metro trip planner to get to train stations. Owners were responsive and very kind. Would stay again and recommend.

Clean quiet comfortable place, thoughtfully equipped, on a leafy block that is close to bus and restaurants. Just delightful. DC is more than just monuments and museums, and from here, we had access to both the tourist and the for real DC.

The place looked just like the pictures shown. Plenty of parking outside the house and in a quiet, safe neighborhood. They have everything inside the apartment that you don’t need to worry about if you forget to bring it from home. Michelle was very responsive and answered our questions right away. The place is not closed to metro train stations. I found it is not a problem cause it was a very short distance drive to all the DC museums. All you need to use is the Parking Apps to find parking garage near the museum. For our family of 3, it’s much cheaper than riding on subway. Overall I will rented this place again next time when I visit DC.

It’s a well lit and well decorated home unit in the attic with good natural lighting, worthy of long stays. Access to the attic house is through metal stairs side of house. Car parking is free though you need to know which side of road you should park. Check signs on street.

We had a really good staying here. The only complain is about how noisy the ac was. We couldn’t keep it on during the night. One more thing is that as a guest, it would have been nice to find something to cook like pasta, milk and cereals, at least for the day after. The welcoming was not that great but never mind…it was a self chek in so maybe no reason to talk in person to the host!

Lovely, calming spot just as advertised. WiFi was great, suitable for work from home. Comfy furniture, all the things you need. Plenty of space for 2 people. Stairs up to the unit were a little challenging with luggage in the rain and dark, but not a deal breaker.

A lovely stay

Was pleasantly surprised by this space! Truth be told, when we rented an attic space in DC, with temperatures in the 80’s predicted, I was a little wary of a stuffy, humid stay. The apartment was the opposite, bright, airy, and cool. It was clean and comfortable, and we immediately felt at home. With the metro a short walk away, and city bikes nearby as well, getting out to see the sights was easy and convenient. Will definitely return!

An AMAZING stay! Fits just like the title. My fiancé and I LOVED every minute of it. We even spent some time on the couch just enjoying the space and a quiet neighborhood. Such an cute spot and decorated well. Everything truly felt like home. The host was super responsive as we kept each other updated. She checked in periodically and we had nice things to say every time! Would 100% come back or try some of their other homes. The price was awesome for all that we had!!

We visited DC for the cherry blossom festival over the weekend. We were provided with anything we could have needed. Very cute place located near the metro.

This is a lovely, cozy and well lit hideaway dorm the bustle of the city. The apartment is impeccable and has lots of thoughtful details that make for an extra comfortable stay.

My girlfriend and I went for a short trip over spring break and had a great stay. Very friendly hosts, beautiful place, nice neighborhood, and no complaints overall!

The place is cute but I wouldn’t go there again. first time I honestly regretted not staying in a hotel. As soon as you walk in there’s a smell that the place hasn’t been opened for air circulation in months and the stains all over the carpet and bed covers made me feel like the place isn’t being clean properly. We only had 1 hot day and it was horrible, we felt like we couldn’t breathe, we even tried opening all the windows but that didn’t help. We were disappointed with the place and the priced paid we could have gotten a nicer hotel for that price.

Check-in was easy. Bed was uncomfortable, and renter has unclear, unfair policy about taking their trash out for them and charging you money if you don’t.

Cabin in the clouds was the ideal get away for a few days. Parking was always oddly available directly in front of the house which was awesome. Décor was lovely and light. The floors were squeaky which made me nervous to disturb downstairs when getting up for water in the middle of the night but beyond that it was a great stay. Pack light, those stairs are killer when you have heavy bags. 😅

This place was immaculate. Even better than pictured. Nice ceilings, skylights, fluffy bedding and towels. Extremely peaceful, I worked while visiting the city. Quick bus ride to U street. Rock Creek Park was so beautiful and very close. Highly recommended. Very rejuvenating and professional accommodations. I’ve stayed in hotels that werent as clean. Check out Crown Bakery, delicious authentic Trini food.
