I am a federal worker in northern VA who now has to commute to DC every day, which takes over an hour each way. I treated myself to this Airbnb which was 5 short blocks to my office. I absolutely love DC and am very familiar with this neighborhood. Adorable row houses but nestled between the H St NE Corridor and the hip NoMa neighborhood. I walked to Whole Foods (5 min) and there was tons of storage space in the apt. The second night I walked to a workout right at H street and all of the other nights I had plans in town. The NoMa metro is about a 10 min walk and I felt very safe every evening. I saw many people walking their dogs, or children in strollers and lots of locals wherever I went. The apt is more than large enough for 1-2 people and everything was clean and modern. The bed and pillows were on the firm side and SO comfortable. I think a family would be comfortable there if they were visiting to sightsee.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this apt!

Great apartment with fabulous shower. Bed was comfortable. Kitchen and living room is large and tastefully designed. The toilet doesn’t have a lot of legroom so tight for taller people over 5’11”. Would stay here again.

Good place, good location, good service. This fit our needs for 3 adults perfectly. The sofa bed is the best I have seen. Otherwise a very nicely done basement apartment. On street parking was easy to find for this trip. We had a brief issue with the WiFi but the management addressed it quickly. Super easy walk to Union market – not station – was great for restaurants, groceries, or shopping. Central to other activities as well. Thanks.

This home had everything we needed for our family of four. Plenty of utensils/items in the kitchen for cooking, while also being close to many restaurants. Would recommend checking out Union market-it has many different restaurants and a couple of bars. We enjoyed walking and taking the streetcar to the metro to go into downtown. The only downfall if you want to sleep in, is that upstairs is at least one child-some noise starts around 6:30 AM, but it’s all part of city living!

We enjoyed staying here for our sight-seeing days in DC. This place is well-situated for public transit and bike-share. The place was as described and pictures were accurate. I appreciated the proactive communications from the host. I don’t recall this being in the description, but guests taller than 5’9″ should know the bathroom door is low. It’s a garden apartment and the side with the bathroom has lower doorways.

The apartment was extremely clean and has everything you need in the kitchen and bathroom. The location is convenient to the Metro (about 10 minute walk) and good restaurants. I enjoyed the recommendations – the pizza place around the corner was really good. I heard a little bit of noise from upstairs in the evening hours, but it was not bad and ended by 10 pm. I can’t comment on daytime noise since I was out all day. The bed was comfortable. I would l stay here again.

I had a wonderful stay at this apartment on H Street, Washington. The place was clean, well-maintained, and had a cozy vibe. Such a cozy and inviting space. The host was super attentive and promptly responded when I had questions. The location is great! I was able to take a yoga class just up the street and get groceries around the corner at Whole Foods. The metro is a bit of a longer walk, but the H street trolley is free and takes you close to Union Station. I hope to stay there again when I’m back in DC!

Absolutely coming back. Fantastic location and great support when we had questions related to our plans for the trip. So close to the capitol and the national mall, we walked everywhere. Home was so beautifully finished, as cute as described.

Beautiful place in my favorite area of DC. Lots of nice touches from the host that are sometimes overlooked – like great quality coffee and shower products. Bed was super comfortable – host was helpful and quick to respond. All very seamless.

Truly lovely, excellent place to stay in Noma. Hosts were super responsive and the place was clean and well-appointed. Only drawbacks to know about is that the ceilings are quite low, it’s a basement apartment and my 6’ 2” friend definitely had to duck to get through the doorways! I’m 5’4” so it just felt cozy to me, but be aware if you’re tall that you may not fit super well 😂 Also the folks upstairs have a kiddo and a dog, you’ll definitely hear them in the am, but nothing so loud that it was bad. Just normal kid and dog noises. But if you want to sleep in late, probably not your scene. All in all a truly lovely stay, really easy to arrive and get in, responsive and kind hosts, great kitchen! Highly recommend

Had a great stay in this apartment! Easy walk from Union Station Amtrak and Metro stations, even with bags. The apartment itself was very welcoming, well-appointed, and comfortable. Location is great – just a couple blocks from H Street with tons of restaurants, and a few blocks from Union Market with shopping and even more restaurants. I walked to the Mall from the apartment, so it’s a great launch pad for sightseeing too. Overall, I would recommend this apartment to anyone coming to DC!

Location, Location, Location! H street is 1 1/2 short blocks away and you can walk to everything. If you want Starbucks in the morning you can walk there as well as Whole Foods. The Metro is also walking distance. From there you can ride to just about any part of the city. The condo was very neat and clean. The bathroom was spacious, but note it is off of the bedroom and you have to travel through the bedroom to get to the bathroom. The pull out couch was comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed for our three day stay. Having the washer and dryer in the unit was wonderful. We even met the individuals living upstairs. They were extremely kind and helpful as were the neighbors in the neighborhood. I would stay here again no questions asked.

I had a wonder experience – the bed was comfy, towels fluffy, shower was great, all of the necessities in the kitchen, etc! Not out of the ordinary, I could hear the people from above here and there but wasn’t an issue for me.

I went with my son who was returning to college after summer break. The place was very clean, comfortable and welcoming. The neighborhood is great. The only thing I would point out is that because this is a basement unit (described as English Basement unit) the entrance to walk-in closet and into bathroom necessitated my son (6’4″) to have to bend over and his legs were too long to sit with his legs in front of him on the toilet. I had no problem and anyone 6′ or less it would have been fine. He still loved the place. Contact with host was easy. I had a little trouble trying to get a visitor parking permit, but response from Host resolved it.

Enjoyed the space and location in a neighborhood. It was clean and comfortable. Grocery stores very convenient 5 min walking distance. Fun eateries 10 min walk at Union Market. H street has limited options beyond the grocery stores. Found the free H street trolley helpful in getting from Union Station to our street. Felt very safe walking in the area.

My husband and I stayed here with our two granddaughters. Definitely worth the price: Great bedding, towels, selection of dishes, utensils, storage containers, baggies, basic seasonings for cooking, and comfy beds. We also appreciated the ice maker in the fridge unit, as it was hot out and we loaded up on ice and water everyday. The furniture was nice, and not only was the bed comfortable, but the mattress on the pull out was as well. With four of us sharing a bathroom, this unit’s bathroom was great. The shower is tiled and offers an awesome spray. The washer/dryer/dishwasher (along with soap for both), is a nice extra when traveling! Sweet City representatives were on top of every message with a quick reply! Directions for check in and check out were easy, followed up with an inquiry to make sure everything went ok. Location is away from the business of the city, but the DC Streetcar two blocks down took us to the metro at Union Station, where we could ride wherever we wanted!

My family and I traveled to Washington for sightseeing and tours for the week, and this home was perfect for the four of us. I would say the space is ideal for two people but as a group of 4 we were still very, very comfortable. During the trip we were out walking and sightseeing all day and were only at the apartment at night. The neighborhood felt safe and was very walkable and nearby to good restaurants, grocery stores, and the metro. The home was clean, cool, and comfortable. The shower was very nice, and a perfect place to relax after walking miles and miles each day. There is a family that lives in the apartment above and you will sometimes hear them walking about but it’s no different than living in any other apartment.
If you are looking for a nice little place to stay while you tour DC I would say you really cannot go wrong with this place!! The hosts were kind and very, very proactive. We had no problems but I know that if we did they would have been there.

Affordable in an expensive city, decently walkable to Metro (.6 miles about 10 mins), modern and clean.
They provide a link to register for a visitor parking pass, we were happy to be able to get a spot on the street with this pass. Parking is expensive in DC so this also helped make this very affordable stay.
I do have sensory sensitivity and so I will note that you can hear the upstairs residents walking and once playing music on the weekend. But overall nothing crazy and not during quiet hours. Also the apt runs cold (in summer at least) even if you place the two thermostats on 74 and can feel heat coming out of one of the vents the apt is cold. But nothing a sweatshirt and blanket can’t fix. Also it can be refreshing when you walk in after a long hot day of walking in the city.
They provide all of the soap, shampoo, lotion, and cleaning solution for the apt. They also have a bread box full of coffee and tea products. Fully stocked kitchen, was able to save by making breakfast

Did not personally meet our hosts but she responded almost immediately to any request we made by em. Bed is super comfy and TV’s in each room is a nice touch Place is very roomy. We selected this apartment based off of location. Literally less than a half a mile to the Union train station. But it also provides a quiet reprise away from the hustle of DC proper. Everything in the apartment was updated and enjoyed having a place to sit out front and watch people walk by. Grocery stores within two blocks, which we made use of. We would definitely stay here again.

Pleasant one-bedroom appartment in the English basement of a small house, one block from H street and within walking distance to Union Station or the Capitol. Optimal for 2 people, also suitable for 4 (we were a party of 4) if you’re ready to a slight compromise on comfort (need to go through the bedroom in order to access the bathroom; the type of sofa bed in the living room requires to remove sheets/comforter in order to fold it back to a sofa, so you need to make the bed every night; dining table is small for 4). Nicely equipped kitchen. Excellent communication with the host (very reactive on an issue that appeared). We were not bothered by footsteps/noise from the appartment above (neighbor was not noisy — otherwise noise that could be an issue because you do hear what is going on upstairs pretty well).

We were so glad to have chanced upon this place on our maiden trip to DC! Made our trip extra special.
The team was responsive and provide clear instructions to check in and all the recommendations on food, attractions, public transport etc.
We were delighted to find that the place was pristine, immaculate and well stocked with essentials.
We really like the location. Granted it wasn’t in the heart of all the main attractions. But there are restaurants and grocery stores in walking distance. We walked to the museums but you obviously can grab Lyft (cheaper than Uber apparently) or take the metro/bus. There’s even one bus going straight to Georgetown (DC Circulator form Union Bus Station).
Would definitely like to stay here again for our next visit!

Fue una maravillosa experiencia alojarnos aquí, el lugar es muy lindo, bien decorado y la cocina muy bien equipada ! Tenían unos te deliciosos y saludables !
Puedes cocinar lo que desees, tiene de todo ! Además tiene 2 excelentes supermercados a 4 minutos caminando.
La ducha es un plus, fue una sorpresa para nosotros. Nos dimos unos hidromasajes muy reconfortantes !
Cuando teníamos alguna pregunta, siempre nos respondían muy amable y rápidamente.
La ubicación es genial, cerca del Capitolio y de los monumentos importantes. Recomendamos ir a probar las delicias del “Market Union” para desayuno, brunch, lunch, o cena, no se lo pueden perder. 8 min caminando.

The place looks exactly like the photos, was clean, and is in a great location. The hosts were also very responsive to a service request!
However, a few design elements impacted the stay- probably most prominently being the lack of a working door to the bedroom. This was especially noticeable as we used the pullout couch in the living room (which was easy to use but pretty firm.)
There is also a lot of noise transfer between the upstairs tenants and the downstairs unit, so when they’re home you can hear almost every word they say and vice versa.
The toilet is also very close to the wall, making it a bit uncomfortable if you’re tall.
But overall, great location, responsive team of hosts

We loved our stay in DC. The apartment was in a great location and we felt safe walking, even late at night. Decorated beautifully. Shower was amazing. Bed was super comfy. Plenty of extra towels, pillows, bedding. Noise from upstairs is quite noticeable at times, especially in the evenings, but quiet by 8:00pm so never disruptive for sleep. It was a very cozy apartment which served our purposes perfectly. We’d definitely stay again!

Our stay was great and the host was super responsive. Having the parking permit really helped as we always found parking in the permit areas. We found the area and neighborhood to be quiet and friendly. A lot of close places to eat, just a 5-15 minute walk from the place in any direction! As someone who was visiting DC for the first time, I do recommend this stay.

This place is on the H Street Corridor. There’s a Whole Foods and Giant around each corner and endless bars, restaurants, cafes, etc. It’s in a great location and is very cozy and clean. Public transportation options abound—it’s a solid place to stay.

This is a quiet apartment close to Union Market, Union Station, and the U.S. Capital. It had all the amenities we needed for our week-long stay and the host provided a lot of helpful recommendations for local sights and resources. Would definitely stay here again.

Loved the stay!!! They were extremely accommodating and kid friendly! We were able to visit for a few days without needing a car. We took out double stroller, two kids and we walked to the Capitol (30 min walk) about an hour to national mall but it was so worth it! We got 20k steps in a day! Would definitely do it all again!

Our Washington stay was very enjoyable even in the rain. We did not have a car, so we heavily relied on the Metro. The NOMA Metro as well as some fine eateries are slightly over a walkable half mile distance from the property. The property is in a quiet dog friendly neighborhood and yes you can hear the upstairs tenants moving about. However, this was not an issue for us as we were out and about, again in the rain. So, the washer and dryer in the unit was appreciated. The bed was comfy and we’d recommend staying here.

Great little spot to stay in while we were visiting all of the typical DC locations. Very walkable neighborhood with lots of restaurants and other options. The upstairs tenants were pretty loud in the morning and the dog’s bark was remarkably resonant throughout the apartment, but it was for a very short time and never egregious. Lovely bathroom that is located in the master bedroom, so whoever is sleeping on the pullout couch has to go through to access it. Very nice kitchen setup as well, would be nice for an extended stay. Very clean as well.

Great stay & close to everything. Everything was clean. Two blocks from main avenue/ST where free street car is located. We had some bathroom issues and hosts were very quick to respond and fix. Absolutely recommend!

Very convenient to Metro and also walkable to DC monuments. Quiet neighborhood but also close to bustling H Street corridor. Parking can be challenging, but Union Station’s public lot is walkable or easily accessed via streetcar. Comfortable bed, well-appointed kitchen, super clean space. Clear communication and quick responses. During our visit, the coffee pot developed a crack — we had a brand new machine delivered that same day!

Absolutely lovely “garden level” apartment in a charming neighborhood. I was in town for a conference and the location was so convenient. I had a problem with one of the TVs and the Home Sweet City people were very easy to communicate with, and it got fixed the same day.
There is just one negative aspect of this apartment that future renters should know about – the soundproofing is not good, and so you do hear the activities from upstairs. It was not a problem for me, but if you are noise sensitive, this might not be the ideal place for you.
I loved it though, the upstairs noise was not disturbing to me, and I would definitely stay here again if I am traveling to DC!

This stay was amazing!! The location was great and super walkable. I felt right at home. Prior to my arrival, Home Sweet City provided me with local restaurants, places to visit, etc. It saved me so much time.

Great apartment with fabulous shower. Bed was comfortable. Kitchen and living room is large and tastefully designed. The toilet doesn’t have a lot of legroom so tight for taller people over 5’11”. Would stay here again.

Good place, good location, good service. This fit our needs for 3 adults perfectly. The sofa bed is the best I have seen. Otherwise a very nicely done basement apartment. On street parking was easy to find for this trip. We had a brief issue with the WiFi but the management addressed it quickly. Super easy walk to Union market - not station - was great for restaurants, groceries, or shopping. Central to other activities as well. Thanks.

This home had everything we needed for our family of four. Plenty of utensils/items in the kitchen for cooking, while also being close to many restaurants. Would recommend checking out Union market-it has many different restaurants and a couple of bars. We enjoyed walking and taking the streetcar to the metro to go into downtown. The only downfall if you want to sleep in, is that upstairs is at least one child-some noise starts around 6:30 AM, but it’s all part of city living!

We enjoyed staying here for our sight-seeing days in DC. This place is well-situated for public transit and bike-share. The place was as described and pictures were accurate. I appreciated the proactive communications from the host. I don't recall this being in the description, but guests taller than 5'9" should know the bathroom door is low. It's a garden apartment and the side with the bathroom has lower doorways.

The apartment was extremely clean and has everything you need in the kitchen and bathroom. The location is convenient to the Metro (about 10 minute walk) and good restaurants. I enjoyed the recommendations - the pizza place around the corner was really good. I heard a little bit of noise from upstairs in the evening hours, but it was not bad and ended by 10 pm. I can’t comment on daytime noise since I was out all day. The bed was comfortable. I would l stay here again.

I had a wonderful stay at this apartment on H Street, Washington. The place was clean, well-maintained, and had a cozy vibe. Such a cozy and inviting space. The host was super attentive and promptly responded when I had questions. The location is great! I was able to take a yoga class just up the street and get groceries around the corner at Whole Foods. The metro is a bit of a longer walk, but the H street trolley is free and takes you close to Union Station. I hope to stay there again when I'm back in DC!

Absolutely coming back. Fantastic location and great support when we had questions related to our plans for the trip. So close to the capitol and the national mall, we walked everywhere. Home was so beautifully finished, as cute as described.

Beautiful place in my favorite area of DC. Lots of nice touches from the host that are sometimes overlooked - like great quality coffee and shower products. Bed was super comfortable - host was helpful and quick to respond. All very seamless.

Truly lovely, excellent place to stay in Noma. Hosts were super responsive and the place was clean and well-appointed. Only drawbacks to know about is that the ceilings are quite low, it’s a basement apartment and my 6’ 2” friend definitely had to duck to get through the doorways! I’m 5’4” so it just felt cozy to me, but be aware if you’re tall that you may not fit super well 😂 Also the folks upstairs have a kiddo and a dog, you’ll definitely hear them in the am, but nothing so loud that it was bad. Just normal kid and dog noises. But if you want to sleep in late, probably not your scene. All in all a truly lovely stay, really easy to arrive and get in, responsive and kind hosts, great kitchen! Highly recommend

Had a great stay in this apartment! Easy walk from Union Station Amtrak and Metro stations, even with bags. The apartment itself was very welcoming, well-appointed, and comfortable. Location is great - just a couple blocks from H Street with tons of restaurants, and a few blocks from Union Market with shopping and even more restaurants. I walked to the Mall from the apartment, so it's a great launch pad for sightseeing too. Overall, I would recommend this apartment to anyone coming to DC!

Location, Location, Location! H street is 1 1/2 short blocks away and you can walk to everything. If you want Starbucks in the morning you can walk there as well as Whole Foods. The Metro is also walking distance. From there you can ride to just about any part of the city. The condo was very neat and clean. The bathroom was spacious, but note it is off of the bedroom and you have to travel through the bedroom to get to the bathroom. The pull out couch was comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed for our three day stay. Having the washer and dryer in the unit was wonderful. We even met the individuals living upstairs. They were extremely kind and helpful as were the neighbors in the neighborhood. I would stay here again no questions asked.

I had a wonder experience - the bed was comfy, towels fluffy, shower was great, all of the necessities in the kitchen, etc! Not out of the ordinary, I could hear the people from above here and there but wasn’t an issue for me.

I went with my son who was returning to college after summer break. The place was very clean, comfortable and welcoming. The neighborhood is great. The only thing I would point out is that because this is a basement unit (described as English Basement unit) the entrance to walk-in closet and into bathroom necessitated my son (6'4") to have to bend over and his legs were too long to sit with his legs in front of him on the toilet. I had no problem and anyone 6' or less it would have been fine. He still loved the place. Contact with host was easy. I had a little trouble trying to get a visitor parking permit, but response from Host resolved it.

Enjoyed the space and location in a neighborhood. It was clean and comfortable. Grocery stores very convenient 5 min walking distance. Fun eateries 10 min walk at Union Market. H street has limited options beyond the grocery stores. Found the free H street trolley helpful in getting from Union Station to our street. Felt very safe walking in the area.

My husband and I stayed here with our two granddaughters. Definitely worth the price: Great bedding, towels, selection of dishes, utensils, storage containers, baggies, basic seasonings for cooking, and comfy beds. We also appreciated the ice maker in the fridge unit, as it was hot out and we loaded up on ice and water everyday. The furniture was nice, and not only was the bed comfortable, but the mattress on the pull out was as well. With four of us sharing a bathroom, this unit’s bathroom was great. The shower is tiled and offers an awesome spray. The washer/dryer/dishwasher (along with soap for both), is a nice extra when traveling! Sweet City representatives were on top of every message with a quick reply! Directions for check in and check out were easy, followed up with an inquiry to make sure everything went ok. Location is away from the business of the city, but the DC Streetcar two blocks down took us to the metro at Union Station, where we could ride wherever we wanted!

My family and I traveled to Washington for sightseeing and tours for the week, and this home was perfect for the four of us. I would say the space is ideal for two people but as a group of 4 we were still very, very comfortable. During the trip we were out walking and sightseeing all day and were only at the apartment at night. The neighborhood felt safe and was very walkable and nearby to good restaurants, grocery stores, and the metro. The home was clean, cool, and comfortable. The shower was very nice, and a perfect place to relax after walking miles and miles each day. There is a family that lives in the apartment above and you will sometimes hear them walking about but it's no different than living in any other apartment.
If you are looking for a nice little place to stay while you tour DC I would say you really cannot go wrong with this place!! The hosts were kind and very, very proactive. We had no problems but I know that if we did they would have been there.

Affordable in an expensive city, decently walkable to Metro (.6 miles about 10 mins), modern and clean.
They provide a link to register for a visitor parking pass, we were happy to be able to get a spot on the street with this pass. Parking is expensive in DC so this also helped make this very affordable stay.
I do have sensory sensitivity and so I will note that you can hear the upstairs residents walking and once playing music on the weekend. But overall nothing crazy and not during quiet hours. Also the apt runs cold (in summer at least) even if you place the two thermostats on 74 and can feel heat coming out of one of the vents the apt is cold. But nothing a sweatshirt and blanket can’t fix. Also it can be refreshing when you walk in after a long hot day of walking in the city.
They provide all of the soap, shampoo, lotion, and cleaning solution for the apt. They also have a bread box full of coffee and tea products. Fully stocked kitchen, was able to save by making breakfast

Did not personally meet our hosts but she responded almost immediately to any request we made by em. Bed is super comfy and TV's in each room is a nice touch Place is very roomy. Minimal noise from upstairs tenant really did not bother us at all

We selected this apartment based off of location. Literally less than a half a mile to the Union train station. But it also provides a quiet reprise away from the hustle of DC proper. Everything in the apartment was updated and enjoyed having a place to sit out front and watch people walk by. Grocery stores within two blocks, which we made use of. We would definitely stay here again.

Pleasant one-bedroom appartment in the English basement of a small house, one block from H street and within walking distance to Union Station or the Capitol. Optimal for 2 people, also suitable for 4 (we were a party of 4) if you're ready to a slight compromise on comfort (need to go through the bedroom in order to access the bathroom; the type of sofa bed in the living room requires to remove sheets/comforter in order to fold it back to a sofa, so you need to make the bed every night; dining table is small for 4). Nicely equipped kitchen. Excellent communication with the host (very reactive on an issue that appeared). We were not bothered by footsteps/noise from the appartment above (neighbor was not noisy -- otherwise noise that could be an issue because you do hear what is going on upstairs pretty well).

We were so glad to have chanced upon this place on our maiden trip to DC! Made our trip extra special.
The team was responsive and provide clear instructions to check in and all the recommendations on food, attractions, public transport etc.
We were delighted to find that the place was pristine, immaculate and well stocked with essentials.
We really like the location. Granted it wasn't in the heart of all the main attractions. But there are restaurants and grocery stores in walking distance. We walked to the museums but you obviously can grab Lyft (cheaper than Uber apparently) or take the metro/bus. There's even one bus going straight to Georgetown (DC Circulator form Union Bus Station).
Would definitely like to stay here again for our next visit!

Fue una maravillosa experiencia alojarnos aquí, el lugar es muy lindo, bien decorado y la cocina muy bien equipada ! Tenían unos te deliciosos y saludables !
Puedes cocinar lo que desees, tiene de todo ! Además tiene 2 excelentes supermercados a 4 minutos caminando.
La ducha es un plus, fue una sorpresa para nosotros. Nos dimos unos hidromasajes muy reconfortantes !
Cuando teníamos alguna pregunta, siempre nos respondían muy amable y rápidamente.
La ubicación es genial, cerca del Capitolio y de los monumentos importantes. Recomendamos ir a probar las delicias del "Market Union" para desayuno, brunch, lunch, o cena, no se lo pueden perder. 8 min caminando.

The place looks exactly like the photos, was clean, and is in a great location. The hosts were also very responsive to a service request!
However, a few design elements impacted the stay- probably most prominently being the lack of a working door to the bedroom. This was especially noticeable as we used the pullout couch in the living room (which was easy to use but pretty firm.)
There is also a lot of noise transfer between the upstairs tenants and the downstairs unit, so when they’re home you can hear almost every word they say and vice versa.
The toilet is also very close to the wall, making it a bit uncomfortable if you’re tall.
But overall, great location, responsive team of hosts

We loved our stay in DC. The apartment was in a great location and we felt safe walking, even late at night. Decorated beautifully. Shower was amazing. Bed was super comfy. Plenty of extra towels, pillows, bedding. Noise from upstairs is quite noticeable at times, especially in the evenings, but quiet by 8:00pm so never disruptive for sleep. It was a very cozy apartment which served our purposes perfectly. We’d definitely stay again!

Our stay was great and the host was super responsive. Having the parking permit really helped as we always found parking in the permit areas. We found the area and neighborhood to be quiet and friendly. A lot of close places to eat, just a 5-15 minute walk from the place in any direction! As someone who was visiting DC for the first time, I do recommend this stay.

This place is on the H Street Corridor. There’s a Whole Foods and Giant around each corner and endless bars, restaurants, cafes, etc. It’s in a great location and is very cozy and clean. Public transportation options abound—it’s a solid place to stay.

This is a quiet apartment close to Union Market, Union Station, and the U.S. Capital. It had all the amenities we needed for our week-long stay and the host provided a lot of helpful recommendations for local sights and resources. Would definitely stay here again.

Loved the stay!!! They were extremely accommodating and kid friendly! We were able to visit for a few days without needing a car. We took out double stroller, two kids and we walked to the Capitol (30 min walk) about an hour to national mall but it was so worth it! We got 20k steps in a day! Would definitely do it all again!

Our Washington stay was very enjoyable even in the rain. We did not have a car, so we heavily relied on the Metro. The NOMA Metro as well as some fine eateries are slightly over a walkable half mile distance from the property. The property is in a quiet dog friendly neighborhood and yes you can hear the upstairs tenants moving about. However, this was not an issue for us as we were out and about, again in the rain. So, the washer and dryer in the unit was appreciated. The bed was comfy and we'd recommend staying here.

Great little spot to stay in while we were visiting all of the typical DC locations. Very walkable neighborhood with lots of restaurants and other options. The upstairs tenants were pretty loud in the morning and the dog's bark was remarkably resonant throughout the apartment, but it was for a very short time and never egregious. Lovely bathroom that is located in the master bedroom, so whoever is sleeping on the pullout couch has to go through to access it. Very nice kitchen setup as well, would be nice for an extended stay. Very clean as well.

Great stay & close to everything. Everything was clean. Two blocks from main avenue/ST where free street car is located. We had some bathroom issues and hosts were very quick to respond and fix. Absolutely recommend!

Very convenient to Metro and also walkable to DC monuments. Quiet neighborhood but also close to bustling H Street corridor. Parking can be challenging, but Union Station's public lot is walkable or easily accessed via streetcar. Comfortable bed, well-appointed kitchen, super clean space. Clear communication and quick responses. During our visit, the coffee pot developed a crack -- we had a brand new machine delivered that same day!

Absolutely lovely "garden level" apartment in a charming neighborhood. I was in town for a conference and the location was so convenient. I had a problem with one of the TVs and the Home Sweet City people were very easy to communicate with, and it got fixed the same day.
There is just one negative aspect of this apartment that future renters should know about - the soundproofing is not good, and so you do hear the activities from upstairs. It was not a problem for me, but if you are noise sensitive, this might not be the ideal place for you.
I loved it though, the upstairs noise was not disturbing to me, and I would definitely stay here again if I am traveling to DC!

This stay was amazing!! The location was great and super walkable. I felt right at home. Prior to my arrival, Home Sweet City provided me with local restaurants, places to visit, etc. It saved me so much time.
Any questions I had were answered super promptly, and Home Sweet City was so kind and thoughtful.

We had a fantastic experience for our first Airbnb booking. This 1 bedroom English basement apartment was immaculate. My girls enjoyed the living room pull-out. The mattress was excellent quality. My bed heaven after walking miles and miles in DC. I think it took us 20 minutes to walk to the Supreme Court and Capital. Not sure when I’ll be back but I’ll definitely re-book her before looking at any other accommodations.

This place was absolutely phenomenal; it was impeccably clean and had everything we needed to feel right at home. It was so clean, we were asking ourselves if we were the first people in the place. They were always responsive and Ben (the owner) asked how things were going when we saw him a couple times. I hate to give this place such a great review because we want it to be available the next time we're in the city!
This isn't a complaint, but I have one thing to note for my fellow taller people. Due to the nature of it being a basement level, there are a few low spots where I had to duck; entering the bathroom, laundry room, and bedroom closet. I'm 6' 1" just for reference. Like I said, this isn't a complaint because it wasn't any inconvenience for me, just something to consider if you happen to be 6' 6".
Overall, this place is great and we will 100% be looking to book it the next time we're in D.C.
