Great place to stay so close to the convention center.

Quite a few crumbs left behind on the couch that I cleaned up, but it only really bothered me because I’m sometimes a neat freak. Crumbs also on the bed and on a furniture block. Ice cream was left in the freezer that I definitely didn’t want to touch. Plenty of bugs. Be prepared to battle the occasional mosquitoe if it slips in. When we were there, I killed maybe a total of 5 houseflies with the spray that came with the Airbnb. Some crawlers on the floor as well. I think this is because in periods where there’s no people, the bugs feel more comfortable, so as you stay longer they will tend to avoid you, most likely. Overall it was an okay stay, just would have preferred a bit more cleanliness.

Great place! About a 7 minute walk from Shaw Howard metro. Clean apartment in a quiet neighborhood. The upstairs is also a short term rental, so your mileage will vary as to how much noise will come from up there. The home was well stocked with essentials, including a full oven and laundry. We felt fairly safe walking around with our young children, and there is a fun splash pad playground nearby.
Overall, this is a great value and Home Sweet City were responsive and friendly hosts.

Our first solo trip to D.C was so memorable because of Home Sweet City! We had a last minute reservation and the communication the whole time was very professional and helpful! The home is in a great location and close to everything! Very clean and organized as well! The thing they were most transparent about and we knew ahead of time was the flies because of the summer heat, we dealt with them but overall not too much of a nuisance! We would definitely book again!

The location and the space were great. The instructions were detailed and included everything one would need and want to know.
The instructions do warn about bugs but I underestimated the number of flies that would be swarming around the entrance. It was too much for me so I canceled my reservation after a night. I’d definitely return other times when the bugs aren’t as prevalent.

Nice place! Centrally located for all we needed to do and very quiet. The apartment was very clean and well appointed. We enjoyed our time there!
